Fluffy my foot is still swollen all on top between the base of my toes and the top of my arch, it hurts a bit too. Should I get it checked? I only worry because of my other issues I have hardly any feeling there so I won't know if I'm doing any damage by walking on it etc. On the other hand I suppose I would be able to just tell if there was anything seriously wrong?

Tryingtosaveup · 19/11/2016 19:51

Oh my God, people do seem to have been in the wars.
Wreck, hope you and little Wreck are better soon.
All, you're in education if I remember right, aren't you. If so get signed off sick and get full pay for a few months at least. You can resign any time. But the few months will give you time to think about your options.
Oh Em, hope it's better soon.
Cag, don't forget to apply for PIP.
Vick on the feet. You were all talking about this a few threads back and I had not heard about it til then. Do you just rub Vick on the soles of you feet, put socks on and go to bed....and it makes the cough easier? 😳
That cannot be true.
LSD went to little market £10.40

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/11/2016 19:51

I would, mainly because the neuropathy will make you think everything's ok.

No ones going to mind seeing a patient with that much bruising & swelling with neuropathy.

ememem84 · 19/11/2016 20:07

Resting an drinking wine. And watching strictly.

I was paid today. So that's good.

CremeEggThief · 19/11/2016 20:15

Spendy day today, at Ikea and the Metro centre. £32.41 in cash and £43.23 on my card, so total of £75.64.

I'll read through the thread now.

allthebestplease · 19/11/2016 20:35

Foot looks super ouch.

Ill get signed off and review, I think id like an end point due to having to give a terms notice, but id like to be laid off as well as then I can sign on perhaps. Anyway I feel better just mentally knowing I will be able to sleep better.
I will work finances out tomorrow.
I'll never earn the same amount again but that's not all that matters.

Needastrongone · 19/11/2016 20:44

Might give you thinking space while you review all. You can always resign if you still think that's the right thing to do.

I forgot further spends
£15 Chinese, DH paid.
£40 DS driving lesson.

I'm writing off this month and starting again next Friday on payday. Overspends will be from savings.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 19/11/2016 21:19

Wreck I would second getting it checked, being diabetic you can't be too careful when it comes to your feet.

Trying yep it is totally random but does work!!

I have just spent the last hour on a cleaning and tidying mission, have hoovered the whole house, sorted a weeks worth of washing, tidied dds pit bedroom and tidied the living room. Putting feet up for a min before starting on the kitchen!

Oh keep meaning to say, i had a look at Tescos gift experiences in the Tesco direct website. They seem really good value and offer a further 10% off at check out plus Tesco points, one is for a posh (Marco Pierre?) 3 course meal for two in London for £49, that seems very cheap? Am trying to work out the catch!

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/11/2016 21:44

I could do with that for my dn's partner, she's had some bad news & could go with a treat.

SnugglySnerd · 19/11/2016 21:52

Goodness I'm tired tonight. DH had us all up at 6 as he had a train to catch. Chances are DD would have got me up by 7 anyway but I missed that extra 45mins in bed today!
Hope poorly wrists, feet etc get better soon.

ememem84 · 19/11/2016 21:56

Catface has made some real progress over the last week. We are now doing pats and strokes. And she's currently napping under our bed.

She also found a new place to sit. Like a proper cat. All that time and all that money spent on treats and toys was not wasted. She's finally doing cat things.

Mummyshortlegz · 19/11/2016 22:15

Ds likes sitting in boxes too. I always say cats and children are very alike!

mammymammyIRL · 20/11/2016 01:36

I've been to Marco Pierre White that price on a groupon, I'm exhausted now as fell asleep on couch, will post about it tomorrow x

mammymammyIRL · 20/11/2016 07:06

It was via living social actually just checked my email there & we ate at Kings Road Steakhouse, it was fabulous but not so memorable that I would go there again if that makes sense.

mammymammyIRL · 20/11/2016 07:12

Yesterday was spendy as expected
€25 in penneys mostly for dd, €250 balance on lawnmower, €500 for mechanic, €9 on bits from shop to keep us going at lunch, €25 gift card dgs birthday present, €40 Indian takeaway as we were all on the go from early morning & had to attend a funeral so took the handy option. Dh treated us last time so it was my turn.
Paid au pair €150 & took out cash for dds bus, cleaner, dds school tour & dds dance class €63

Today we're going to buy paint Shock

WreckTangled · 20/11/2016 07:50

Ds much better didn't cough all night so we're off to London Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/11/2016 08:52

Vicks on the feet is witchcraft, nods knowingly!
Pleased it helps. Yes it is just Vicks plastered all over the sole the foot, socks on, into bed.
Wreck if it's still sore note get your foot checked. Have fun in London.
Em, rest that wrist.
All, why not get signed off until January/ Feb 1/2 teeth, Then put your notice in at the start of the appropriate term when you have sorted your budget? Gives you an end plan and also a couple of months more money. You will then be done to enjoy the summer.

Spendy but good night last night out with the girls. No ideas how much I spent.
£120 car service, £500 carpet fitting for Monday, £4 footy, need food shop, will be spending £82 on a vacuum that rep at £150 for new flooring. Also nectar points on bedding for us as ours is 12 years old and about with out. Also pillows.

CathodeRayTube · 20/11/2016 12:40

We had a christening at our church this morning and the family and the baby were almost exactly the opposite of my family and my ds. It gave me a huge amount of insight into why we are struggling. The baby slept right through the whole service, including when it had water poured over its head three times. I was thinking that if all the kids slept that well it's no wonder they have 12 of them when I only have 1. Useful to know. Smile

Tenner in the church collection but otherwise NSD so far.

Thanks for the new thread Cathode
It must be a week since I've posted, life has been super hectic in that time. It was my birthday on Tuesday which was good. Family time and some lovely gifts (star present was some sheepskin slippers from dh which are super snuggly). Have had 2 nights out with dh & friends which has been really enjoyable.

I've been referred for some counselling at work just to talk though issues relating back to my illness in July. The enormity of it all has just properly hit, how much worse it could've been etc. I think it has been brought on by my birthday & Christmas coming up as I can remember lying in A&E thinking I may not have another birthday or Christmas. I don't feel depressed, more shell shocked in a way. Home life has just carried on at it's usual relentless pace & so things are bound to catch up in the end. I'm also definitely having a few relatively minor memory issues too which I've been upset about but am developing strategies to manage that. Onwards and upwards....

Not very frugal at the moment I'm afraid. It has been a case of doing whatever is needed to keep sane and put food on the table without resorting to takeaways! When we were out on Friday, we left the dc money and they decided to order a takeaway, it was a treat as they had both done well in their first mid year reports. Dd is loving high school which is a huge relief for all of us. Ds is laid back as ever but has cricket trials starting in a couple of weeks so after a 3 month break we'll be back to our cricket taxi service!

Big frugal win today though, I rang Virgin to ask for the latest wireless hub and to see whether our deal could be cheaper. The hub which should be way better than the one we have is being delivered on Tuesday and we have had £20 knocked off our monthly charge for 9 months and then £10 a month after that, no haggling needed!

SnugglySnerd · 20/11/2016 13:38

Pleased your DS is so much better, Wreck and happy belated birthday to North! Not surprised that you are still in shock from your illness, it must have been pretty scary. Hope you are ok.
Was hoping for NSD but we're all a bit under the weather so DH has gone out to buy extra milk so we can have hot chocolates later.

CremeEggThief · 20/11/2016 14:26

Are you serious at 12 children, Cath?Shock

Happy belated birthday, North.Cake Be kind to yourself.

NSD.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 20/11/2016 14:36

I think that when I compare dd to super chilled out babies, I didn't realise at the time but when I look back she was very high needs!

North counselling sounds like it would be really helpful, I had some last year and it was fab for finally getting the chance to talk through some of the stuff that has happened to me over the last few years.

Work day today, much better day though than ystd.... got the family coming over in a bit with cake, i'm another year older tomorrow Shock thirty bloody eight!!

ememem84 · 20/11/2016 14:44

Nsd today. Feeling really tired and sad. Self care is needed today. Got out of bed showered etc. And am now on bed. With a blanket and a book and cheese on toast.

Catface is under the bed. She has decided she doesn't like her corner anymore (no idea why) but is also enjoying being queen of the stairs. She sits at the top and hissed at us when we dare walk down/up them.

I want to get her a small crown. But I think she'd eat it.

CathodeRayTube · 20/11/2016 16:06

Creme it was an extended family attending a Christening so it wasn't clear which were siblings and which were cousins. They were all super-kind to each other with older kids looking after babies and constant harmony. I was starting to wonder where the rest of the world was going wrong, but dh says maybe they were on their best behaviour because of not being habitual church-goers. Our usual friends spent much of the service wrestling on the floor at the back.

Wreck I just went out an bought massive box of chocolates and a thank you card for my old GPs surgery. Do you think that will be about the right thing to do? I've been there for donkey's years and feel like I'm leaving extended family behind.
