Nsd, my parents invited dd and me for dinner which was really nice.

ememem84 · 29/10/2016 19:22

collie we looked at a house earlier this year before we ha s looked at finances but it was ridiculously cheap for a 3 bed house here which has carpet not only in the bathroom but also in the kitchen....

I wouldn't discount buying because of it, but I'd want to know what the floors were like under it.

AuditAngel · 29/10/2016 19:55

Yesterday £1.50 on a drink while DS was at badminton club.

Today, very spendy....
Debenhams -returned a dress DD2 was given for her birthday which is too small. £12 refund. Unfortunately it was bought on a special offer. I will get her something else but will probably have to pay more.

Smiggle £7.50 DD2 needed a birthday gift, she was recently given a gorgeous nightlight, managed to get 2 for £7.50, the spare one will go into the present box.

Claires - £29.50 went in for a birthday gift, got that £18.50 but it was buy 3 get 3 free so the girls also got some hair bands and bits.

Wilkinson's £43 went in to collect 2 advent calendars I had ordered, bought some suit carriers, Christmas candles, stocked up on combs/bands/cotton wool for panto, face wipes for DS, lots of bits really.

Then mum paid for a coffee. Dashed off to Asda, can't find the email to collect my order from there (sigh) £47 in Asda, mum gave me back £12. Included a onesie for each of the girls (mum paid for one). We are out for lunch tomorrow, so bought a couple of desserts for tea. Also chicken for DS and I for dinner and some gammon, some fruit.

Tesco, £23 custard and cream to go with desserts, 2 travel toilettries for DH business trip next week, and bits for kids stockings.

Still have 3 birthday presents to buy.

This thread really does move quickly.
Em, your DH is funny but catface seems to be getting a lot braver.
Lovely garden Need. Mine is looking much better now but that's because somebody comes in to do it for me,
Got £75 today for some work I did helping out.
NSD

Our insurance renews tomorrow. £843 Shock not much more than last year. Thought I'd found a better deal (£503) but when I added the shed on, it suddenly went to £1,042! This is because we had 3 claims in 2 years.

I wouldn't mind so much, but the claims in total were less than £1,500 and are the only claims in 25 years.

I've been trying to get a broker to look at it, but not managed to catch him. I wasn't so bothered as I thought I had the £500 policy. Will try on Monday, then cancel the renewal if I can get a better deal.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/10/2016 21:40

I think you've got two weeks to change if you want to.

ememem84 · 29/10/2016 21:44

I have wine. Dh went to the shop and spent £18. Wine crisps dip pizza.

We are watching Glitch on Netflix. It. Is. so. Good.

SnugglySnerd · 29/10/2016 22:00

Sorry I asked a question this morning and have been too busy all day to read responses. Risked the mini fridge in the end.
Spent £6 in Wilkos on a few food containers and DH got a few things in the supermarket.
Em I washed the cat's bedding recently and you'd think I'd tried to kill him the amount of fuss he made!

Mummyshortlegz · 29/10/2016 22:03

Jumping back in!

£50 on diesel and £5 on a light up toy at the circus. Not too bad. I haven't updated YNAB in ages and I need to on Monday.

ememem84 · 29/10/2016 23:07

snuggly we are friends again with catface. I know where the treats are

We are defrosting our freezer tomorrow rock and roll life here

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/10/2016 23:09

Spendy but good day. Will update tomorrow as it's past my bedtime

Cagliostro · 30/10/2016 01:39

DH picked me up one of the games I've been desperate for. £35 from my pocket money. It is gorgeous. DH quite enjoyed comicon but said it was insanely busy and loud. I think as a family we will stick to board game cons. :o

I've got rid of about 30 board games in the last few days! Starting to get more organised. :)

mammymammyIRL · 30/10/2016 06:42

Great plans for watching a double episode of The Missing last night. Fell asleep with ds on couch, dh put him to bed, woke up a bit & chatted dh & bil then fell asleep again & dh sent me to bed at 10pm Shock

I'm dozing & waking for past two hours now.

I want to go for a run today, must take car to be retested at nct centre

lifelongfrugaleer · 30/10/2016 06:51

Wheelycote · 30/10/2016 07:42

Aiming for NSD

And finish by bloody assignment grhhh

If I don't check in before this evening, hope you all have a fab Sunday Halloween Smile

ememem84 · 30/10/2016 08:02

Should be nsd today. Am toying with the idea of going into work today. Just for an hour or so to get things up straight.

Have relisted some eBay things. The rest will be bagged and dropped at charity shop tomorrow.

Need to do some serious cleaning today. Dh asked why I was sounding stressed yesterday. I pointed out that the house was a mess again (our bedroom is a nightmare but mostly his stuff) and I need it to by tidy. Hell do it on Tuesday apparently. As he has Monday Tuesday off. I bet he doesnt

Cagliostro · 30/10/2016 08:54

Woken up all wheezy :( Angry fell asleep before I put Vicks on my feet so will do that this morning instead. Gutted as we are going to a new learning co-op tomorrow and I really don't want the Caglets to miss out!

We're off to some gardens for a hollowed trail.

SnugglySnerd · 30/10/2016 09:19

I'm aiming for an NSD too. Going to do pumpkin carving.

ememem84 · 30/10/2016 10:14

Toyed with the idea of going to work. Decided I'm better off at home. Things to do here Smile

Am also looking online for lovely Christmas/winters/scandi bedding don't need it

NeversellahouseCollie · 30/10/2016 10:58

We cashed in some 1p & 2ps at Coinstar at Sainsbury's then spent it at Sainsbury's Cafe on free hot chocolates. Satisfying!

No other spends are planned. Just sorting out the fridge / freezer before we move. I figured if we deep cleaned now it'll be less of a big job after we move out. assuming that we do actually move house

ItalianWiking84 · 30/10/2016 10:58

Think it will be nsd. My dad and dh are clearing all the stuff that needs to go to the renovation center... dd and me are playing with play doh

mammymammyIRL · 30/10/2016 11:30

I've had a satisfactory morning clearing out playroom, kitchen floor is filled with stuff for selling, dumping & giving back to dsd. Everything has its place now. I've to go get car retested at nct & then will return and finish off playroom.
Curried parsnip soup in slow cooker
Kettle descaled & dishwasher descumbed.
Must buy a mop bucket & some fairy liquid think that's all. Might pop into Aldi to see toys

SnugglySnerd · 30/10/2016 11:46

I've sorted out a few more things for the charity shop.
Have this feeling the car insurance needs renewing in the next couple of weeks but we haven't had a reminder yet. I might stick with our current provider as:

  1. We are going to change the car in 2 months and I can shop around then.
  2. Our car is a slightly unusual model and the insurance companies seem confused by it. Current insurer was £400 cheaper than the next cheapest offer last year.
  3. They let us pay by DD without it costing more.

Also we need to get the central heating serviced. So another spendy month ahead...
