NSD, dentist didn't cost anything yesterday.

I got leaflet for teens bank accounts from Lloyds Bank, they have something they call "save the change" you spent £2.95, fe, and the odd 5 pence goes into a nominated savings account. Don't know if it's only on accounts for kids.

CremeEggThief · 30/06/2016 16:01

Welcome to all newbies and welcome back to all returners.Smile

Spends: £1 on 5 birthday cards from the Card Factory and £7.75 on lunch. There's a waffle place in Durham (Babs, might be a nice outing for you and the kids in the summer holidays) that does a huge selection of waffles, both sweet and savoury. I had a veggie breakfast one (scrambled eggs, Halloumi, tomato and mushrooms) and a cappuccino and it was delicious.

So expensive day, IKEA was 1300£ Shock but luckily calculated for and gave us wardrobe for 3 beds and a storage/entree room. Bought 3 baby toys second hand for 10£, it's all fisher price stuff so that was a good deal and in very neat condition.
7£ in building stuff for the wardrobe... Hope this will be all for the day.,,
Money for the budget is transferred as well as money for the saving, leaving us with 1000£ which is what we usually have per month.

ItalianWiking84 · 30/06/2016 16:20

adora we have that saving account here in Denmark, you can choose yourself the amount that you want rounded up every time you use your card, we save for dd that way, have saved 600£ in her 2 years living like that... It adds up quickly and she gets a good interest even, 3,5% which is high here right now

ipsogenix · 30/06/2016 16:24

Enjoy the restocking need. I found it quite enjoyable, even though the spreadsheet looked a bit sad at the end of the month.

needastrongone · 30/06/2016 16:31

Nice waffle creme.

DS has been in school today. He's Y11 and finished his exams last week. This week is fun stuff like Alton Towers and prom. Today was dress up day then games It's a Knockout style.

DS and his mates went en mass. One dressed as Donald Trump, 5/6 Mexicans and one as a wall. Genius Grin

Carrot, orange and fennel soup for tea.

Back to ironing, am faffing, as I hate ironing!

AdoraBell · 30/06/2016 16:38

I should have said , that free dental appointment for DD2, not me.

Italian I've not seen that facility on an account before, but have only been back here for 11 months.

fluffy Houdini had Indeed been naughty, she'd tried to snaffle my snack Shock

I stopped buying clothes clothes

Badders123 · 30/06/2016 16:42

I just changed the boys stocks and shares child trust funds to a cash isa - 3.5% which is the highest there is currently here in uk
We are awaiting our roof blinds (£600 balance to pay)
Then our holiday
Then ds1s room to decorate
Then...hopefully not much for a while!!!

CremeEggThief · 30/06/2016 16:45

Another £4.10, as the window cleaner just came.

WreckTangled · 30/06/2016 17:00

Nsd. Might go spinning later as dd's swimming lesson was cancelled so didn't have to go for that. Stuffed peppers for dinner.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/06/2016 17:02

badders Interest rates look set to fall, if carney could raise them he would have done it by now. Could you swap early?.

Unescorted We don't all feel like that, it's an excuse to use for not working or doing well. Before that it was women working who got the stick for men bring out of work. I think the higher up the food chain the less you see it too.

Boris was never going to be pm, too many skeletons in that cupboard. His wife should ltb. His wife is mixed race you know. I'm team Theresa. She seems sensible & strong willed.

£8.75 aldi.

AdoraBell · 30/06/2016 17:04

Bloody phone, I stopped buying clothes when in Chile as nothing lasted, but have bought a fair bit since moving back.

Badders123 · 30/06/2016 17:10

It's already on 0% - was worried the 0% cards might disappear - but it seems I'm being worried about nothing Smile
Interesting re interest rates - our mortgage fixed rate ends in July next year - hope we can get a good deal then!!

Noodlebrains · 30/06/2016 17:13

€230 on brake pads for DHs car. That was with a €60 discount as when the car was in for the service on Tuesday they fecked up the cruise control.

Going to sit down the weekend with DH and try and get car insurance quotes for him. His just keeps going up while mine stays the same or drops.

needastrongone · 30/06/2016 17:33

Carney has hinted at a reduction as early as next month. The pound has stabilised, albeit at a reduced rate. The FTSE has regained it's losses. I'm not arguing Brexit was a fantastic move btw. We are likely to have a rocky road. But neither was it Armageddon either. So far Smile

ipsogenix · 30/06/2016 17:40

Need Did you listen to Michael Heseltine's speech about Boris Johnson? Classic.

Badders123 · 30/06/2016 17:40

I pay £9 a month car insurance!!!
( I'm probably older than some of you though and the car is 10 years old!!)
The only thing I can cut out is Netflix at £9
Per month - but I'm Not going to!
We use it a lot Smile
Other monthly spends are non negotiable really - car tax, petrol, breakdown cover, life insurance, mobile phone, ds1s phone...
Amazing how it all adds up isn't it!?

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 30/06/2016 17:46

Hello just quickly popping on as am at my mums and have the internet!!

We have moved Grin new house is lovely but everything chaotic at the moment as moved Monday and have been working every day since!! Crashed a bit ystd evening through sheer tiredness but feeling a bit better today.

Have been trying to be really careful with money as this month is ridiculous for outgoings, have just sorted out home insurance for £7 a month and have also got my broadband down to £19 a month.

Not had time to catch up on thread but am thinking of you all and hope you are all well Smile

needastrongone · 30/06/2016 17:52

I did Ipsos, I've listened to Five Live all day, even while walking the dogs. Damning wasn't it? Take your troops to battle, then run away... He couldn't resist being the showman with his own speech either, if you saw or heard?

needastrongone · 30/06/2016 17:53

*Boris, I mean...

Ememem84 · 30/06/2016 17:59

Probably should have stayed home today. The antibiotics are great. Am feeling all sorts of floopy. But probably annoyed the hell out of people today at work.

Anyhoo.
