Hi All,
Taking the liberty of starting a new thread, as I went to post spends on the old one and it's full.

We had a lovely day out at the seaside and visited an old lighthouse as part of it. As we rely on public transport, that's always a big part of our days out spend.
£9.60 bus fares.
£9.60 train fares (with the family railcard).
£6 lunch from Sainsburys ( £3 meal deal each).
£4.50 entrance to the lighthouse.
£7.10 coffee, hot chocolate and cookies in a café afterwards.

Oh and DS needed a haircut, which I think was £6.50.

Good for you Collie, big companies treat us like cash machines. Pisses me right off.

I don't enjoy all the emails either but it's better than paying out like a one armed bandit machine.

I had their fon for one day when we swapped suppliers, it was monumentally shit. I complained & they said "ooh it's a bit patchy there" so I complained to PayPal with the email copied and got my money back off them instead. Ha. Fuckers.

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 08/04/2016 20:33

Girlie I had a pilonidal sinus removed!! It's re opened twice and looks as if another has developed. I've been referred back to the surgeons for reassessment and possibly another op. Argh!

NSD so far however we are off out for a meal at 9pm. Will probably spend £20 max. Trying to keep spends low.

My car service is due end of month too. It's a pcp finance car.. I'm sure I don't have to get it done at place I purchased as long as I get it serviced somewhere whom uses correct car parts for the vehicle..

Whataboutnodetox · 08/04/2016 20:38

Ssinsbury not price matching subs and stopping price match may make me leave them. It's starting to feel like the value is going down and some things that were on long term offers have stopped. I often do live chat with customer services or email them when they cock up.

Whataboutwhathuh · 08/04/2016 20:42

I have changed my username, i am pretty sure you can tell who I was before!

bloodypassword · 08/04/2016 20:45

Asda online is fab - subs are cheaper and customer service is excellent. I regularly phone up if somethings not right and they refund quickly.

I'm new to this thread- spent most of today reading it. Great ideas. I discovered www.mortgagefreeinthree.com which has been inspiring too.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/04/2016 20:45

Dont

You are quite right, as long as they use genuine parts & the correct oil it's ok.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/04/2016 20:46

Welcome bloody

CremeEggThief · 08/04/2016 20:51

I have to say my Sainsburys is very good. It's rare that they don't have everything I want in stock and they do offer similar products, if they have to make subs. Hope I won't jinx it now by saying that!Grin

Morrisons online shopping has been fab so far....

HairsprayQueen · 08/04/2016 21:31

I thought it was a no spend day but then remembered that it was Tesco click and collect day so actually spent £87 Confused that's a big difference to nothing!

CremeEggThief · 08/04/2016 21:33

Morrisons don't deliver in my area. Maybe they will by the time my free Sainsburys delivery pass runs out..

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/04/2016 21:33

Morrisons is provided via ocado if R4 is to be believed.

Ipsos · 08/04/2016 22:05

Thanks for the suggestion of the St John's Ambulance group Cag. I'll look into that.

I've not only given up my writing job now, but I've on on to the freelancer site and doubled my advertised fee. That should help keep me from being tempted by work that I don't have time to do. Smile

Hope it's going well there for everyone.

Cagliostro · 08/04/2016 22:35

No Collie I wouldn't say that's your fault, they should make it very clear what the sub price is. If they basically give you no chance to check and refuse, it's worth phoning them after I'd say. We've done that any time we've had an issue with an item and it gets refunded

Cagliostro · 08/04/2016 22:35

and most welcome Ipsos :)

I'm not sure where to take my car for its service. Like how would I know they actually use the correct oil or use genuine parts :(

Been for a meal. Cost 90 pounds for four of us. We had four starters, garlic bread to share, four mains, 6 drinks (4 alcoholic), two desserts and two lattes. I found this to be really cheap however a certain person tried to complain. They didn't charge us for a few of the items as we are regulars and they seem to knock a bit of. My DM paid for it all though.

Ememem84 · 08/04/2016 23:21

Busy day here. Work was stupid. Ended up flying to london to hand deliver a document. So £90 on two flights, then £30ish on trains and cabs to and from lawyers offices. £14 on a glass of wine and a tuna melt at gatwick. And £4 airport parking here. All of which will be reimbursed to me next week when expenses are put through. The courier company we use let us down again

On the plus side I've earned 1000 avios points today so can redeem those against my next flight.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/04/2016 23:27

They can include receipts, usually they'd just tick a box to say genuine part used.

The onus isn't on the consumer to check, it's on the garage to be honest.

Ring a few garages, if you drop on a dealer doing fixed price servicing your sorted.

AdoraBell · 08/04/2016 23:31

Just back from Chile, spent a fortnight over there with DH. Far too much spent all round but everyone had a fab time catching up with friends.

I'll be back to frugaleering after the weekend, kennels to pay for on Monday.

Hope everyone is well. Sorry, jet lag stopping me from catching up. Only been home a few hours.

Cagliostro · 08/04/2016 23:58

Not ones that think I'm a shit mother because I don't take my kids camping because I can't afford it.

Well, anyone who thinks that is a twat, frankly. Thanks

Spends:
£7.20 bus
£11.19 coop (snacks and lazy dinner as pain levels quite high today)

Tomorrow will be spendy as I forgot cash to pay for this month's dancing, and the exam fee is due. I really hope DD is ready for this exam, they assure me she is... Confused

Ipsos · 09/04/2016 00:49

Lucsy I know the feeling. I think we all feel judged for one thing or another as parents. As if it wasn't complicated enough already. You're doing a fantastic job there. Keep going.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 09/04/2016 06:41

Adora that sounds amazing.

Oh wow em what a busy day!

We don't get morrisons delivery either.

We got kwik fit to do our service as they were doing 50% off.

Today will be spendy but only petrol and food shopping which will be lidl. Then we're going on one of the stick man trails in one of the forests. It's going to rain so should be extra fun!

babsmam · 09/04/2016 07:11

My sainsburys is great tbf and I never get brand match they are always cheaper than adda apparently. I wish we did get occado/Morrison as heard lots of good things about them.
