I have to say collie we've been with Plusnet a couple of years and they've been fab, reliable fast broadband and good customer service. We moaned that all the deals were for new customers and they halved our monthly bill for us!

needastrongone · 09/03/2016 19:47

Lovely colour Adora, I sometimes have that using Shellac, and have a layer of glitter over the top. Getting my nails done tomorrow, I'm frugally trying to stretch it to 3 weeks each time, the regrowth is fairly grim, but it's March!

I did chilli with nachos as the kids seem to enjoy it, and it makes a change. The nachos were on offer, I used chilli cheese sprinkled on top as I had some left, which was nice.

Poor girliecat We have cover that lasts a lifetime, but you don't win, as you then end up having to stick with them, if you claim (which we have) and the premiums are increased without you being able to do anything about it....

Ipsos · 09/03/2016 20:26

Fuzz Thanks so much for the pigeons. I love that video. Smile That will definitely give us something to talk about. Thanks so much.

collie I saw the news about the wind damage there and thought of you. I saw that a supermarket had part of its roof off. Yikes!

Thanks for the pigeon picture Em. :-) I wonder how he got there? Smile

Sorry to hear about the vanishing money Girlie. I know just what you mean. When we bought our house the interest rates on savings were around 6% and we were making a tidy sum every year. I really missed having that coming in. It'll be lovely to have your own house though. Hang in there. Brew

Pointlessfan · 09/03/2016 20:38

Is anyone watching the shopping for less programme on BBC1? It's like EWFL but with clothes. I'm shocked how much they spend on clothes for the toddler!

Colliefeatures · 09/03/2016 20:42

Ipsos Grin we live near that big supermarket. Scary isn't it!

Laska5772 · 09/03/2016 20:43

Fru flu here also.. sore throat fuzzy head.

Ive been puzzling over and over this evening why I didnt seem to have as much money as I thought I should , then realised id budgetted £128.00 on my YNAB for a 12.80 ferry ticket last week! Duh! These spreadsheet things only work if you get yer decimal places inthe correct place..Blush

NSD today! (well in the shops anyway) However, I did pay out £1005 for my credit card bill , that was for the new glasses (which I am still waiting for!) and out hire car for our holiday in June..

The time is looming when my DH gives up work.. this means that not only will our income more than halve , but ill have to live with him F/T! He's worked and lived away during weekdays for nearly the whole time weve been together - 23 years. Slight panic...Should I buy a shed? (for me?) ..

CremeEggThief · 09/03/2016 20:43

I forgot about that. I'm watching "Teen Mom OG", one of my guilty pleasuresSmile. Then "Grantchester" at 9.

fuzz, was it you who mentioned an Easter treasure hunt with clues? I really want to do this with DS, but he's only 5. Any ideas? I think we'd probably go for non-chocolate treasure Smile (although I have bought him an Easter egg).

WreckTangled · 09/03/2016 20:57

I'm going to do one space. I did one with dd at the weekend with the prize being some new books, she loved it (she's 5). I did things like 'you wash your clothes here' and 'I'm green raaaarrrrrr' (in Rex from toy story's mouth).

fuzzpig · 09/03/2016 21:10

You're welcome Ipsos :) and em ROFL at 'dirty flappy bastards' :o

Adora I think MN techies have changed something. For instance you can no longer put these with text in between unless you put a space in like so
< sulk> Angry

Space I agree with wreck at this age I'd do clues like that. DS was 5 when we did the hunt last year and couldn't really read then so DD (was 7) did most of it. If your DS is reading a little you could maybe do a code like 1=A 2=B etc, and say if he had a special toy dog you could write 4/15/7. Or a picture of a particular piece of furniture, cut up into a simple jigsaw.

This year as DD is dabbling in piano I'm hoping to do a musical clue somehow. I remember doing a treasure hunt for friends once where I did that.

I have got soooo much to do and really CBA with any of it! Blush

Ememem84 · 09/03/2016 21:10

ipsos he needed jam. Obvs.

I missed shop well for less. Must catch up on I player.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/03/2016 21:16

Pointless I watched it and shook my head a lot! How do people have so much money to waste it?!

Laska hope you feel better soon < passes a lemsip > yes a shed might be a good idea Wink

Needa yes mind you the cats are insured with Argos and they have been pretty good so far with my other cat.

SpaceKablooie · 09/03/2016 21:37

Thanks for the great ideas wreck and fuzz! I'm really excited about doing this now - I'll probably include some simple reading, maths, and a jigsaw Smile.

supermariossister · 09/03/2016 21:49

We did a hunt last year but ours are a bit older things like..

Here is a clue, leading to something sweet, I'm hiding where you put your feet ( shoes, wellies)

This clue isn't far away
You really must not fear
It's hiding in the place
That daddy keeps his beer (fridge)

They were all over the house school bags, bath, washing line and dog bed they really liked it and it lasted a long time with around 15 clues or so

fuzzpig · 09/03/2016 21:57

BTW with the maths we had the answers being the code say 3 x 4 = 12 = L. Or you could do it like 'if the answer is 3, look under your pillow, if the answer is 4, look behind the TV etc

Ipsos · 10/03/2016 00:00

Collie yes that did seem a bit steep really. A shop isn't really shop without a roof is it?

It reminds me of the weather at home in Scotland, where periodically people canoed down the main street, or the front window the supermarket got blown clean out. I hope you are managing to keep safe there.

fuzzpig · 10/03/2016 00:37

D'oh, can't sleep as I forgot to take my tablets. If I take it now I won't wake up enough tomorrow (have to leave early) so midnight oil is being burned tonight.

We've sorted a lot more of the holiday stuff out - looked up buses and all that stuff so we've got more of a plan now and feel more prepared for what things cost. Planning on only having the Wednesday in the city (planetarium then shops/meal out, hopefully canal too), Mon/Fri will be part travelling anyway and Tues/Thurs on site with activities etc. Glad we did look it all up - this place is supposed to be near Chichester, but the nearest station is actually Bognor Regis. Odd.

Filling in redeployment form. Eeek scary stuff. But positive. :)

fuzzpig · 10/03/2016 03:36

Wednesday:
NSD for me,
40p for DD's bus fare home from Brownies (DH used my pass)
£3 DH is buying little presents for his staff

Got an hour's work done, and lots of laundry, hoping I can drop off soon. Have a great Thursday everyone.

babsmam · 10/03/2016 06:14

Sorry about the cat girlie
Eek forms.
I haven't seen any news but stay safe frugaleers.
Today should be a nsd but I have an interview for a temp role which could go either way. I may need cake later

WreckTangled · 10/03/2016 06:20

Oh fuzz I think I know where you're going! Chichester is our nearest big town/city. Let me know if you have any questions Smile

Might take ds to the library today might spend some money. Not sure. Won't be much if I do.

Ememem84 · 10/03/2016 06:44

So many roads are closed here due to storms. It was scary last night I could hear the wind outside thought at one point our windows were going to blow in.

Boats and planes are cancelled again today and people are panicking.

Ended up watching a bit of swfl last night. Could not believe how much stuff they had spent on. Then had a think and realised that a couple of years ago that was me Blush

hoping for nsd today.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 10/03/2016 07:12

Morning all, had an early start today as dd had to be at school for 6.45 Shock they are taking her class to London and back in a day which is a good 6 hour round trip! Oh well hopefully they will have a good day, i have work in a bit which is good as will take my mind of worrying about her!!

A work day so spends should be minimal although have to take boycat back to the vets later so that could be £££ Shock

Wolfcub · 10/03/2016 07:17

Morning all. Restless night here. Working at home today so will have the heating on but I'm Fed up of being cold and miserable. Hope you're feeling better today Em and that fuzz you are ok after your long night

Colliefeatures · 10/03/2016 07:32

Definitely a NSD day today.

New socks have holes in (Sainsbury's) and my newish jeans have threadbare knees already (Sainsbury's). Sad they are so comfy and I find it so hard to find comfy clothes. I think I'll end up choosing comfort over quality and buying another pair Sainsbury's jeans to replace the old ones. But that'll be next month.

Still haven't chosen new broadband because I was too sleepy last night.

WreckTangled · 10/03/2016 07:36

Collie this is the inside seam of my favourite jeans. I just love them. It's my second pair and they're from miss selfridge I'm not sure they do them anymore though Sad I'm going to look when I go to London in a couple of weeks I get an NHS discount there too.
