Bloody hell Wreck Shock not surprised your pissed off, I would be to!

I've just got in, been pretty productive have taken some stuff to charity shop and some to dump, got dds new school sweat shirt £10.50 but hopefully that will last her until she leaves primary (Sad)

Also filled the tank up with petrol £40.

Spent another £40 in Sainsburys, got quite a lot for this including 3 large Easter eggs, 2 pairs of school trousers, fruit, some bedding, sunglasses and biscuits!! Saw some other nice bits that I wanted to get for dd (starting to think about the menorca holiday in May) but resisted, will wait till they do their 25% off thing!

Its scary how easy it is to spent £90 though Shock

Colliefeatures · 08/03/2016 14:59

Tayto DS (2 y.o) and I were absolutely fascinated by watching a little Robin hop around our garden earlier. We spent a good 10 mins watching him through our patio doors.

Oh wreck! Can't believe he was so rude. What a cheeky git!!

It's raining, and the buses are being unpredictable and I'm still not feeling 100% - I feel really bad that I can't take DS outside for a walk, or to the park or something. Sad the guilt is eating me up.

He probably doesn't care at all. He's only 2. But I care. It just seems like everybody I know go "out and about" with the kids most days. And we're confined to the crap town we live in.

I'll stop whining now. I think I'm hormonal. Brew

Pointlessfan · 08/03/2016 15:16

That's lovely Tayto, I love seeing the birds in the garden.
Wreck that's dreadful, not surprised you are pissed-off.
Having the awful day I predicted with DD and the workman. This morning was fine but she didn't nap even though he was making no noise and she's now tired and grumpy. Been for a long walk but have resorted to CBeebies now!

needastrongone · 08/03/2016 15:22

wrecked Did you speak to the manager of the garage? I would try to, if this person wasn't. Will you incur charges? Bloody gits!

Ahh Collie, your DS has you. Don't feel guilty. Rain is shite. We all get cabin fever and the place looks bleak. A bit of sunshine might help. Flowers

You ok super? Try not to worry too much. Try to think there's no point in worrying until you know there's something to worry about, hard as that is.

Wait till you get the house, then you really will know how fast £90 goes girlie Grin Any further news?

I have just returned from the farm. Bastard pony had escaped to another field.....

WreckTangled · 08/03/2016 15:37

Yes it was the owner I spoke to! So annoyed. Luckily I won't incur charges as the bank reversed it same day.

Colliefeatures · 08/03/2016 16:40

need just read what I wrote and I sound like a wet blanket! BlushGrin definitely need the sunshine! Cannot wait for warmer sunnier days! St DavidsFlowersSt Davids

In the end, despite feeling like a bag of shite - we went out to watch diggers and dumper trucks nearby.

wreck he sounds charming! The next time you speak to him (if you ever have to) suggest some training in "basic payment transactions and common courtesy" Grin

supermariossister · 08/03/2016 17:19

Spent my survey money on £10 gas, feel happier having the heating on knowing it's with extra funds so to speak.

I'm mulling something over we have a Samsung smart things home set up that I won, it hasn't been used in months as I'm home most of the time. We really need a new fridge and these smart things retail at £199. Seriously considering selling and using for the new fridge.

I've chilled out a bit sure it's nothing important if that long away, crossing my fingers anyway

WreckTangled · 08/03/2016 17:23

Lsd £5 petrol. I'm really grumpy the whole thing has pissed me right off. Coupled with the fact that I ran out of insulin at work, the chemist below didn't have any, so I had to pop home to get some (I say pop it's a 20 mile round trip) it's been a stupid day.

Jacket potatoes with tuna for dinner.

Ememem84 · 08/03/2016 17:48

Nsd. So far. Dh is going to the shop on his way home so will pick up a weekly shop

lilacclery · 08/03/2016 19:25

Ah wreck that's a bad day alright

Went looking for a new use for stewing beef today.
Aromatic beef curry from BBC good food

fuzzpig · 08/03/2016 20:25

Hello all :)

Spendy day today:

Bus £6.20 (decided not to get the quarterly pass for DD until after the holiday, and DH got the bus home with us - he got out early, woohoo)
Geography club £1.50
Creative Writing club £2.50
Co-op £4 (DH's lunch)
WHSmith £2.50 got a comprehension workbook for DD, as she's identified that she finds it hard to understand what she's reading so this will be useful (was £3.50 but used a World Book Day voucher :o)
Book for DD's birthday £4.24 - this was from an Usborne seller I know on FB, and even with a 54p stamp to send her the World Book Day voucher to get a pound off it's still cheaper than Amazon. She's going to love it - it's a 1920s costume colouring book, she knows that style because she loves Charleston dances :))

Is it wrong that I'm quietly sad about this interview DH has? It's not guaranteed anyway of course, but I don't really want him to start a new job straight away :( I feel like we need some time, we've been running on empty for months. Which is ridiculously spoilt of me I know, and I obviously won't tell DH I feel like that! Blush

AdoraBell · 08/03/2016 20:47

Not wrong at all fuzz but best idea not To tell him.

Spending day here Hmm

£266 for carpet fitters.
£13 in the butchers
£57 grocery delivery

Tired tonight, will catch up properly tomorrow.

babsmam · 08/03/2016 21:09

£120 on car tyres, £30 on other car bits, £10 CO op

babsmam · 09/03/2016 06:21

Nsd planned today

KinkyDorito · 09/03/2016 07:20

Hello frugaleers, it has been a while, but I am back on the bandwagon.

Thanks to awful, awful fibro and lots of time off work, I know that I need to get an absolute grip of spending from now on to build some security in case I reach a point where I can't work.

I've asked to reduce hours next year too. If that is accepted, we will be due a drop in income. Combine that with DD losing maintenance and CB next year, we definitely need to get our house in order.

Have a stupidly expensive holiday booked this year that I would never have committed to if I'd know how bad my health was going to be. However, need to get that paid off and go and enjoy it in the full knowledge that it will probably be the last one for a few years.

I've set my shopping budget for March and am just trying hard to curb the general spending, which has gone very well so far.

My plan is to start living on the reduced wages now to get used to it, which is really what we should have been doing from the start.

Pointlessfan · 09/03/2016 07:22

That curry looks delicious lilac.
Should be NSD today, need to take DD to the dentist, was hoping to combine it with a long walk but the weather is hideous! Then decamping to my mum's for the rest of the day to escape the madness. Will put chilli in the slow cooker before I go.
Cat has been sick again so it looks like we're going to be going back to the vet. Every time I think of the vet I see pound signs!!

WreckTangled · 09/03/2016 07:28

I agree lilac it looks lovely.

Nsd planned here too. Hopefully I'll get my car today or tomorrow Hmm then, even more hopefully, I won't have to speak to the stupid man from the garage ever again.

lilacclery · 09/03/2016 07:39

See will he compensate you for his error wreck & the embarrassment of having your card declined?

I adapted the recipe a slight bit because the oven was on a bit high so half way through cooking I added a can of coconut milk

Sounds like you've your head on your shoulders regarding drop in income & that will give you a safety net of some savings too

Colliefeatures · 09/03/2016 10:50

Hello my lovelies!

Just realised my BT phone and broadband contract is up next month. Grin does anyone have any recommendations? Definitely not having BT again!

NSD today but am doing the weekly shop later.

CremeEggThief · 09/03/2016 10:58

Plusnet aren't the cheapest, but they are a good company. They're offering cashbook for new customers through Topcashback, so have a look, Collie.

Still pondering selling the smart things set up, not even sure what to sell for or on Facebook groups or eBay.

Nsd today but going easter shopping tomorrow the boys want to do a hunt, I did suggest a toy/game but they seem eager fr eggs and they do make them last they still have Christmas chocolate!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/03/2016 12:09

Hi all, Collie I switched to EE from BT and so far have been pleased with them, def check out what cashback deals there are though.

Have been out to meet a friend for coffee this morning that was £3.50 ish, drove past the house I am trying to buy as well just to check its still there Grin feeling slightly stressed by it all, taking some paperwork into the solicitors later and they want £400 up front < gulp >

My new mantra is 'it will be worth it it will be worth it it will be worth it' repeat several thousand times a day!!

WreckTangled · 09/03/2016 12:10

We still have Christmas chocolate too! Dd would still like me to do a hunt though, with proper clues!

lilacclery · 09/03/2016 12:38

Ah girlie the excitement!
It will be worth it.

I would sell smart thing & buy your fridge. Maybe price it at 75% of cost.
