I just accidentally wrote willy instead of will in dd's school diary. I crossed out the y but they're going to know aren't they?! Blush

fuzzpig · 25/01/2016 17:15

Thanks all Thanks

Yes I can see why the employment gap would stick TBH. It's a shame as he really is back at full strength now - he qualified as a personal trainer while on JSA, and his 10k/half marathon times are within a few minutes of his pre-injury times. He is also convinced his age is becoming a factor (he's just turned 48).

In all honesty he's not fussed about a career anymore, I think he'd just quite like a boring job with less stress. But those jobs he's getting dismissed from because of being 'overqualified' and he's not getting the management jobs either.

We've thrown ourselves into rearranging the kitchen to accommodate the oven.

Haha Spotty don't worry I'm sure they won't notice Wink

Willies on the brain, then?

Nsd. Second in a row!

Rubbish day at work. So busy. And not helped by stupid people asking stupid questions. We drove in today and dh dropped me off (can't really W all as shoes rub on blisters). Have just hobbled my way to the car. Dh told me it was on floor 7 of the car park.

I eventually found it on number 4.

Ha net told him though. Just sitting here waiting for him to finish. And get lost too.

lilacclery · 25/01/2016 17:27

spotty they'll know and they'll know what your mind is on this evening too Shock

lilacclery · 25/01/2016 17:28

East hope you DH is doing ok.
Fuzz sounds like a horrible situation for your DH
Babs years ago now, but we stayed in a Quality Inn just off the motorway outside Slough when we went to LL. It was part of a Lego member deal £145 for the night plus 2 days entry for 4 of us.

NSD

SpottyTeacakes · 25/01/2016 17:41

Oh em wonder how long it'll take him to find it!

Oh no Blush I promise I'm not thinking about willies much Grin

I've just booked a wax for Thursday. First one. I'm quite scared but I've really let myself go and since all my meds/cbt I've finally got the confidence to do it.

Ememem84 · 25/01/2016 17:47

So far 10 minutes. Smile in his defence he did have to go home at lunchtime so probably this morning did park on a higher floor.....

I'm quite happy here. Car is warm. And I have snacks.
Though if it gets to him missing for half an hour I'll ring and find out where he is.

hope I don't need a wee!!

Silvertap · 25/01/2016 18:24

Fuzz - if it's a big retailer I'd be very very surprised if they performance managed him out in 2 weeks. If they do you'd have a serious case against them if he's been there over 2 years.

I used to performance manage people for a retailer and had to give them at least 2, more likely 3 warnings before you were out. I had to give staff loads of chances and Smart targets etc

fuzzpig · 25/01/2016 18:42

I'm hoping that is the case. Perhaps manager guy has made it seem worse than it is then. Thank you :)

DH has taken DS off to Beavers, DD has gone with him so they can nip to Tesco for the chicken, olive oil and kitchen roll we forgot in the shopping, and to get DD some winter boots. Thankfully I remembered we have a £15 giftcard.

I'm supposed to be doing some editing but I'm mooching around eating chocolate and watching Vicar of Dibley to cheer myself up! Blush

fuzz what a nightmare. Im sure its not legal though..

fuzzpig · 25/01/2016 18:49

TBH in some way I just want to know NOW. It's stressful enough wondering, but I guess at least it gives us time to try and prepare and hopefully find something else, so I should just be grateful of that. I don't deal very well with uncertainty though Blush :o

fuzzpig · 25/01/2016 18:51

Guess I'm preaching to the choir with the above though Laska sorry I know you are waiting to find out as well Thanks

Laska5772 · 25/01/2016 19:12

dont worry Fuzz we are all here to support each other, but ours are more general 'across the board' cuts due to govt funding loss so we are just waiting and see what they decide (february now..) , but it sounds like your DH boss is doing something definately dodgy, .

Im not sure where he can get advice Law Centre? CAB? as he is not in a union , but he should try .. it doesnt sound legal to me.. ..or perhaps post there must be some one on MN who is good at this stuff..

lilacclery · 25/01/2016 19:24

Spotty how bad it'll be depends on area getting waxed I guessGrin

We'll be on a new thread by tomorrow evening I predict

We're running low on fruit, wish au pair told me she was going to start juicing! I bought 20 apples 20 mandarins 14 bananas & 2 bags of pears last wed & 2 bananas, 6 mandarins & 4 pears left!! It's good that we are all eating healthily too.

Pointlessfan · 25/01/2016 19:27

That's rubbish fuzz and that sounds well scary east, hope you and your DH's are all ok.
NSD here but need to do a big shop including nappies and things tomorrow.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/01/2016 19:31

Not my eyebrows lila Shock

Fuzz I hope everything works out ok it must be horribly stressful. We would be absolutely screwed if dh lost his job.

Whataboutnodetox · 25/01/2016 19:46

Lots of difficult times being had by many, I'll keep my fingers crossed for improvements in health and job keeping / prospects.

£110 for 11 weeks of swimming
£5 for ds1 passport pictures
£55 muscle food order - meat for the next two to three months probably.

Blue I am trying putting away my maternity pay this month to see if we can survive on DH wages. With DH birthday and valentines it might be tight.

supermariossister · 25/01/2016 19:54

Hope the job situations improve for everybody, shitty thing to do to your dh hope you can get some advice. Sorry I'm not keeping up with everyone's story this thread moves so fast!

Spendy day as predicted but I went out alone for hours and just enjoyed browsing so I'm happy, it's been a month since I last did that.

13 new logo school jumper for sd hers has seen better days!
3 slippers for ds don't fit so exchanging tomorrow
4 bra - necessity since favourite one fell apart
3 boxers for ss as he's running low and I'm battling getting stuff dry

13 pickled lunch food/bread/yoghurts/bananas

50p charity shop books

£10 hair cut - nothing fancy just a lot of weight gone feel better for it.

Need to buy ds some boots for trip bidding on some on eBay almost brand new that finish tomorrow so fingers crossed!

Laska5772 · 25/01/2016 19:58

talking of eyebrows (you were werent you?) any one tried home dyeing of blashes and brows? I have bought some stuff but am a bit scared!!

CremeEggThief · 25/01/2016 20:04

£20 for the gas meter and £1.94 on a reduced price wrap and bottle of water from the Co-op. Also £1.80 on bus fare home, after Pilates (I walked there). Total: £23.74.

Pointlessfan · 25/01/2016 20:07

The downside of running down the freezer and cupboards is that I now have a massive shopping list! Also going to buy and also make some healthy snacks as we never seem to have anything in that doesn't need cooking.
Meal plan:
Tomorrow - Mexican bean soup for lunch. Curry from freezer for tea.
Wed - butternut squash soup/cauliflower cheese
Thur - soup or leftovers for lunch/slow cooker veggie spag vol
Fri - lasagne and wedges
Sat - quiche and salad/take away
Sun - leftovers/veg goulash with mash
Mon - leftovers/leek and potato soup
Looking forward to all that!

lilacclery · 25/01/2016 20:12

Eek spotty once ever & I'm still cringing thinking about it
