Don't say that!!

blueteapot · 25/01/2016 20:26

What - looks like we're trying to do the same thing! Im trying to remember - are you the other ST3? We have the DC birthday this month but I have the money set aside for their softplay party... to count or not to count!?

Im frugally having a glass of morgans rum & coke which we have in rather than a much needed glass of wine that we dont after a day of D&V DS (hes fine now!) Grin

Spotty - love it! Tippex??

blueteapot · 25/01/2016 20:35

Laska - havent gone to home tinting but I did, for the first time ever, wax my own moustache yesterday with little veet strips... its grand! 20 for around £4 which will last me about a year - much cheaper than getting it done by the benefit beauty bar which I have done for years Confused

Working up to dyeing my own hair, does anyone do that? It desperately needs a cut too. I figure if I man up and dye it myself I could treat myself to a cut... eyeing up the mumsnet haircut but what if it went wrong! I have really thick wavy hair so also eyeing up a babyliss big hair styler... anyone have one?

fuzzpig · 25/01/2016 20:38

We've planned to christen the oven on Thursday! DH has hopefully picked up a chicken in Tesco but we have everything else we need (including GF flour and eggs for yorkie puds, YAY!). I am ludicrously excited. AND we worked out the best day for it by looking at the meal plan, we've taken curry off the whiteboard because all the ingredients will last, except the chicken breast but that can go in the freezer :)

I do the MN haircut and it works well, I have thick wavy hair too. I think the fact that it's wavy helps, because any uneven bits don't show IYSWIM? If I had straight hair it would be risky I think.

DS' hair looks ridiculously cute as well so I'm pleased I did a good job.

And YAY the boots we'd promised to get DD were on sale in Tesco. £12 so more than covered by the giftcard.

Thanks for today Frugaleers. It's been really helpful being able to talk it all through, especially as I've barely had any time with DH. You all rock Thanks

Hi all Smile

Fuzz that sounds stressful, agree with others that it sounds very dodgy as well.

Spotty Shock take something to bite down on, i'm sure you will be fine Wink

blue I have a depressing amount of grey hair these days and need to find an easy wash in wash out dye that won't wreck my hair!

So quite a spendy day, £500 to my mum for our share in the holiday (from savings, Menorca next May) and £40 to the oven cleaners. Am seriously impressed at how clean the oven looks now!

Saw a financial adviser, was very helpful. Looks like I could afford a 50% stake in the house which is amazing. Now back to Connolls to see what they say! Am excited and terrified in equal measures Grin

Whataboutnodetox · 25/01/2016 20:56

Blue - I wish, no I'm a HCP working in industry. It involves a lot of travel and staying away. My DH also works away / in London frequently so my job doesn't work (he earns more than twice my salary) so I either have to find a local job that pays enough for us to afford the chidkxare etc or we learn to live on his earnings. Mortgage rates increasing is in my mind so I need to be sure we can live on his earnings and have a little more spare for rate increases.

JeepersMcoy · 25/01/2016 21:07

Gosh fuzz your dh's manager sounds like a dick to be honest. Is there anyone else he can escalate to if the targets he is being given are not achievable? If he puts together evidence demonstrating the reasons the targets can't be achieved (so written confirmation from tech guys or whatever) then he can wave this about and escalate the issues right back up again. I work in local gov rather then retail so don't know much about the different roles, but I do get a lot of unachievable targets Hmm

Had a horrid cold all weekend and still feeling rough so bought bus ticket into work and lunch. Also got dd a bedtime meditation thing to try and help her settle at bedtime. I lay on the floor listening to it while she was in bed and it was kind of awesome. I don't know what she thought but I had a super time being a beautiful snowflake Grin

5minutestobed · 25/01/2016 22:22

Sorry to hear about your DH fuzz that does sound dodgy that they are just trying to get rid of him. Can he phone ACAS, they are meant to be good for advice?
I have always dyed my own hair, its not too hard and the results are ok(haven't had any disasters anyway!) I really need a haircut, haven't had one since last summer!
I cut DS and DHs hair with clippers, saves us loads and DC2 is a boy as well so more he will be getting the same! I'm not brave enough to do my own hair although I do cut my fringe.
Top up shop fail, feeling rotten today so spent £16, £6 of which was sweet stuff and junk. Argh, serves me right for going to the shop when I'm ill/hungry!

bootygirl · 25/01/2016 22:27

Had sick stomach all day😔 So was nsd!

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 26/01/2016 01:03

Dh is home thanks for all the well wishes both boys were very excited to see daddy.

I am back at work tomorrow after last week off sick and a long eventful weekend.

SpottyTeacakes · 26/01/2016 06:00

Glad he's home east Smile

Pay day today! A day early. I need to clear my next account. Otherwise nsd as I'll be at work.

babsmam · 26/01/2016 06:24

Nsd planned as at work

lilacclery · 26/01/2016 06:30

Nsd yesterday & hoping to continue the trend until Friday

Ememem84 · 26/01/2016 06:40

Nsd planned. Have the rest of the ebay things to post but postage has been paid for. So all good.

Ipsos · 26/01/2016 07:16

I've got ds home with a cold and we've been watching "The Three Musketeers" on tv. It's very good, and we get French history free with it. Excellent fun. NSD yesterday.

Pointlessfan · 26/01/2016 07:27

Pleased he's home east.
I like the idea of pretending to be a snowflake jeepers, DD has me pretending to be a rabbit a lot of the time, a snowflake sounds much more restful!
Have emailed the decorator to say we want to go ahead and he can start end of Feb - eeek!!

catwithflowers · 26/01/2016 08:06

Just a quick question regarding Money Dashboard. I saw it recommended here and started to sign up but noticed that the programme asked for personal bank details such as my memorable information. Is this correct? Is it safe? I thought we were supposed to keep this totally confidential? Many thanks

fuzzpig · 26/01/2016 09:01

Cat I'm assuming it must be safe if it's a big company but I wouldn't be happy doing that TBH! I've not signed up to any apps or programmes etc, just using Excel at the moment.

Spends:
Sunday:
£69.21 Tesco delivery
Monday:
£12.20 bus fares
£8 taxi (my own fault, didn't have enough cash for the bus)
£4.32 top up shop, 3 items plus DD's boots but had £15 giftcard.

Didn't really get to talk about the job situation much as DH was knackered and stressed (obviously!) but he did say he thinks the manager basically has someone else in mind for his specific store. Even though lots of other people have said they would never want to run DH's store (because of dodgy tech etc, and due to location it is very stressful). He'd promised to DH that he'd move him out (as DH wants/needs to be out of that store) and apparently he will if he makes his targets. I dunno. Argh.

Anyway should be NSD for me as we aren't going anywhere. DD's creative writing class has been postponed as the teacher and her family are ill so I'm quietly pleased we can have a day at home!

Who was it that introduced me to the idea of "pacing"? I can't remember, but it's very good. It's saving me money as well as doing me a lot of good.

I've stopped rushing around trying to achieve things all the time and it's definitely better.

Pointlessfan · 26/01/2016 09:58

I've just realised I've been sitting in dried on cat sick! Thought DH had cleaned it all up, he must have missed a bit. Gross 😝
Massive Asda shop was £77, actually quite pleased for the amount I bought. Got several things including eggs very cheap as they had reached the display until date, another week until the BBE date so pleased with that.
Off to scrub chair...

fuzzpig · 26/01/2016 10:11

Euuwww Pointless Envy

Ipsos I'm glad pacing is helping you! :)
