what it'll be a cast on each leg. They'll redo it each week to stretch out the muscle so no other option unfortunately.

babsmam · 20/01/2016 20:13

£15.50 in Morrison's. Dh is out for a curry so lord knows how much that will be.
Well done ipsos DS
Hope things are going OK blue
Laska those meetings are dull but fingers crossed its good for you
Sorry never made marmalade and can only suggest putting curly kale into good food and see what happens

babsmam · 20/01/2016 20:14

Spotty hope dc is OK with the cast

blueteapot · 20/01/2016 20:14

Sorry it was fuzz! (And need, and what, and Im sure others Ive missed!). Thanks for the thoughts guys :)

babsmam · 20/01/2016 20:15

Sounds stressful blue. Glad dh is OK.

CremeEggThief · 20/01/2016 20:18

Pleased to hear your DH is ok, Blue. Be kind to yourselves and don't worry about Frugaleering while you're trying to get back to normal.

fuzzpig · 20/01/2016 20:21

Ah blue that sounds mega stressful. And FFS don't apologise for not coming to update :o RL is far more important especially at times like this. Hugs (Mumsnetty or otherwise) and hope you can all take it relatively easy despite him being back at work already.

SpottyTeacakes · 20/01/2016 20:28

Oh blue that sounds horrible for you all Thanks

Ememem84 · 20/01/2016 20:39

ipsosjr well done!!!!

blueteapot · 20/01/2016 20:50

Thanks guys, I think I'm probably a bit more shaken about it than I originally thought. It's hard to switch off doctor mode in a medical emergency situation and I suppose part of doctor mode is a degree of practical / self preservational emotional distance that you develop with time. Bit of denial going on I think. Will have a big impact on DHs life over the next while and has made me re-evaluate a few things life wise too!

Spotty where are they planning to cast? Thigh down?

Lilac loving the sean surname story lol!

Curly kale is probably the one veg I cant stomach so zero suggestions on that front other than bin it, sorry!

Collie thats interesting about the no rentals clause. Would that include a lodger? I imagine property in cornwall would sell quite quickly surely esp coming into spring / summer?

Guess what everyone - first 2016 load of washing dried on the line today! In NI of all places where its always wet and miserable!

blueteapot · 20/01/2016 20:52

Laska fingers crossed for your job.

Ipsosjr well done! DS got his first bike for xmas but its been too cold to get out far with it yet

Laska5772 · 20/01/2016 20:54

blue how dreadful, I hope that he is on the mend now, take it easy ..

Ipsos · 20/01/2016 20:54

Sorry to hear that Blue. That sounds like a worry. The head injury might take a while to come right, my dm had something similar but after a long time she suddenly just felt back to her old self. Hope your dh is on the mend there.

Sorry to hear about the cast spotty. That does sound a nuisance, but also great that she is getting help with it, as I imagine it should really help in the long run. I had a friend with something similar at school and she carried it so beautifully. I always felt for her but she seems to have a wonderful life now she's all grown up.

Thanks for all the kind congratulations to IpsosJr on the cycling. I've been reading them out to him and he's all smiles at knowing that your are interested. He likes being called IpsosJr and thinks your names are hilarious.

Ememem84 · 20/01/2016 21:03

Have spent the evening making lists. Looked at vouchers from boots. By being careful with spending and sticking to my list I can get another £6 worth of points. Just buying things I'd normally buy.

Payday tomorrow. My savings account matures tomorrow and the interest pays out. Have set up another account for another 12 months.

blue I hope dh is ok.

Laska5772 · 20/01/2016 21:03

Blue.. cross post!

Thanks , well. I dont know what i was really expecting from tonights meeting but they were supposed to be discussing the ramifications of the cuts proposal and then didnt bite the bullet , but as we thought, they have decided to study the recommendations 'closely' and make final decisions in Feb - no mention on what they thought of the proposals for cuts and which services they agreed with losing or not..

Ah well.. will just have to sit tight until then.. However its getting hard going in to work with all this uncertanty and they dont seem to be wanting give me any new projects (quite understandably) so things do feel like they are winding down and because who wants affordable houses anyway?

Laska5772 · 20/01/2016 21:06

I've just (unfrugally) put the heating on for another half hour (FFin freezing here ), so now off for a shower and the early night before it goes off again..

SpottyTeacakes · 20/01/2016 21:10

I think it was just below the knee last time blue the do it so the foot is at a 90 degree angle. I know the time will go quickly and it's not the worst thing in the world I just feel really sad for her.

Girlfriend36 · 20/01/2016 21:16

Blimey blue that sounds really scary, know what you mean about going into medical mode. I find in any rl emergency that involves nearest and dearest all my nursing knowledge seems to vanish and I go into panic mode! Hope you are all o.kay Flowers

Yay to IpsosJnr Star I can remember that moment with dd who was also 5yo I think - it was a fantastic feeling!

Laska thats all sounds incredibly stressful.

I have a work day tomos so that should be a NSD, it is going to be another cold night here I think

Pointlessfan · 20/01/2016 21:19

That sounds scary blue, pleased you are ok and hope DH recovers quickly.

blueteapot · 20/01/2016 21:32

Ah sorry spotty I misunderstood, below knee might not be too bad but obviously nobody wants that on unless its needed :(

Laska :( hang in there, you never know. Is there anything else about?

supermariossister · 20/01/2016 21:34

Well done ipsosjnr, great achievement. I tried to teach my little jnr over summer but we have lost all practicing over winter so back to it soon! I shall tell him what a great job you did so maybe he will want to do it too (y)

Got to go to post office tomorrow to send my old phone off if I'm feeling alright.

AuditAngel · 20/01/2016 21:36

NSD again today. DD1 should have had karate but is full of cold so I suggested a night off. Lucky I did as didn't get home until 7.

Tomorrow I need diesel, plus the blasted tyre pressure light is on again, so need to take car to tyre place on Saturday.

Spotty if DD has regular swimming lessons, our pool will suspend lessons during medical treatment so you won't lose her place, but don't pay.

AuditAngel · 20/01/2016 21:39

Completed 2 of my 6 tax returns tonight. DH owes £2!

I won't be in trouble with him this year Grin

ItalianWiking84 · 20/01/2016 21:44

To blue and spottys dd Flowers
Bought dds swimsuit today for next week, 15£, a bit expensive but got her a really cute one with her fav carater

Lovetoknit · 20/01/2016 23:36

Well done ipsos jnr Star
Hope your dh gets better soon *blue Flowers and a hug
Sorry to hear about the cast spotty it can't be easy but hopefully it will make things easier in the future
laska I used this recipe last week and it set really well, got my oranges from the local green grocer and used some tonight in dundee cake for dh www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/medium-cut_seville_70291
