We visited camden last May and loved it, the horse market there is amazing and dd loved mooching round all the little stalls.

I think swimming is important Ipsos it might be worth having a look what classes are available as dd currently goes in a very small class at a private school pool and it works out very good value for money.

I have managed a NSD Smile cold is still there but better than it was, am certainly ready for my day off tomos! Got my Morrisons shop being delivered in the morning which am also ready for, we have once again managed to clear the fridge!

supermariossister · 19/01/2016 18:12

New phone is here and is great just the right size glad I didn't get the bigger one.

£3 on case off ebay because I'm a clumsy oaf.

£17 present for dp since I've been ill since our anniversary and didn't get him anything -paid for from amazon vouchers from doing surveys though

63 pound coming for old phone

JeepersMcoy · 19/01/2016 18:15

I also apent my teens in the 90s hanging about Camden. Not buying anything as wholesome as ethnic jewellery and Levi's though. Didn't live there but always enjoyed the last or first train home Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 19/01/2016 18:15

Sometimes I feel like I spend my life getting in and out of the car! School runs, work, hospital appointments, clubs etc etc I seem to be spending more and more on petrol too!

Ipsos · 19/01/2016 18:30

It's okay girlie we're doing home-ed swimming. Ds is nearly doggie paddling already. My Mum taught me and I remember how she did it, so I'm going the same with him. The trick is to put ds on the piano stool on his tummy with arms and legs sticking out round the sides. Then I teach him to do swimming strokes with his arms and legs right there, on the piano stool. We did doggie paddle on the piano stool last week and then he did it in the pool. We'll keep at it until he can do it well and then move on to breast stroke and crawl.

Ipsos · 19/01/2016 18:30

Well done Adora excellent news exchanging contracts. :-)

Girlfriend36 · 19/01/2016 18:34

me to Spotty esp as I spend all day at work getting in and out of the car as well! I love not having to get in the car on my days off.

Am quietly annoyed at not hearing back from two parents re dds bday party, what is so hard about sending a quick yes/no text?! Need to know def numbers as if they can't go will invite someone else as am paying for 8 kids regardless!!

needastrongone · 19/01/2016 18:38

spotty I totally and utterly get EXACTLY that feeling today. Up at 5.45, tea in SC. Drive to the yard with DD to do the pony. Drive back. Make sandwiches, empty DW, load washer. Walk dogs. Drive to work. Drive back. Walk dogs. Drive to hairdressers for a quick trim of fringe (free). Home. Swap washing over, sweep up, feed dogs, clean out chickens. Drive to farm to collect DD, who walked there to muck out. Just having a cuppa before putting the rice on, phew Grin

Interesting report on the cost of women's clothes as opposed to men's today. One of the broadsheets did the research, but I listened on the radio so didn't pick up which one. Apparently, a massive price differential.

needastrongone · 19/01/2016 18:41

Adora I didn't know you were so far down the line with house buying. Exciting and nervy and expensive times!

girlie Pet bug bear that, when the DC were younger.

Silvertap · 19/01/2016 18:48

I lived in Halls of Residence in Camden and absolutely loved it. Had the time of my life.

I swear by Lotil cream from the chemist. Sorts out my hands when I've been out on the farm in winter and actually helps heal them. Pretty cheap too.

Not such a good day for me today. 17.60 on McDonald's tea for everyone as I have a stinking cold and 4.00 on chocolate Shockto eat whilst watching Endeavour in a minute.

AuditAngel · 19/01/2016 19:02

NSD today, made the effort to make salad for lunch today. Have SW later, but paid for 5weeks last week, getting a week free.

Someone asked about contactless bus fares? I think it is £1.50 each journey, but may have gone up this month.

SpottyTeacakes · 19/01/2016 19:07

Amazing adora! Where is it in the country?

Girlie that really annoys me Angry yes you must get fed up of driving around!

It's never ending isn't it need? Tomorrow I need to take the dc to school and pre school, get dd from school, take her to hospital, take her back to school, bring ds home from pre school then get dd and her friend from school. It doesn't seem much written down but I swear there's not enough hours in the day!

Silver I would love some chocolate right now but I've eaten 3 a home made muffin today and a mars bar so shouldn't have anything else Grin

CremeEggThief · 19/01/2016 19:14

That's great, Adora. Hope it all goes smoothly for you.Smile

fuzzpig · 19/01/2016 19:18

Woohoo. Rebate from EDF. We can now get a mini oven (as we don't have an oven ATM) so we can bake and do roasts etc YAY!

ItalianWiking84 · 19/01/2016 19:19

Em : I learned swimming in the sea, quite normal here...
Collie why do you need to sell?
Nsd

Pointlessfan · 19/01/2016 19:29

Great news adora, when do you move?
I am loving the idea of learning to swim on the piano stool!
Thought I'd share my simple, frugal and delicious dinner with you all. Had lots of odd root veg left in the fridge eg. 2 beetroot, 1 carrot, half a swede etc. Cut them all into chunky chip shapes and tossed in oil with a sprinkling of cumin seeds and fennel seeds then baked them in the oven. They were fab! Had them with cous cous and goats cheese. Lots left so going to make HFW's root veg frittata later in the week.

babsmam · 19/01/2016 19:32

Ah collie renting is a pain. Is that no forever or no for now.
I'm in and out and running about all the time.
£3.50 on fitness. LSD.
Well done on exchanging adora.

AdoraBell · 19/01/2016 20:02

Pointless my DH does that if we shop together, glad your excess stuff won't go off.

I keep forgetting about the library, there is one here so I will go in after we move.

My hands are suddenly dry. I normally use the Norwegian Formula one but don't have any atm.

Collie would you consider letting your house, or is the move definately off?

NK sorry the job didn't work out, something else will though.

Well done bootygirl

supermariossister · 19/01/2016 20:06

Does anyone know how long envirophone typically take to pay when you have sent handsets trying to plan the weeks funds

babsmam · 19/01/2016 20:13

Oooh aldi are starting with home delivery/click and collect. Boxes of wine first.

Whataboutnodetox · 19/01/2016 20:23

I really must take the boys to the library, I worry that ds1 is a bit boisterous for it though

SpottyTeacakes · 19/01/2016 20:37

What my dc love to run around in the library BlushGrin

Girlfriend36 · 19/01/2016 20:58

I'm liking my little oil filled electric heater its keeping the living room lovely and toasty! Have been told they are fairly cheap to run so hoping my electric bill isn't going to shot up Grin It is absolutely freezing here tonight

Spotty and Needa your days sound like mine Grin lots of running around, I do need a few quiet days here and there just to catch breath but they are few and far between!!

northender · 19/01/2016 21:04

need & spotty I feel your pain. Today, got up at 6.30, made breakfasts & lunches & put tea in oven on timer, took DD to breakfast club, drove to work. Tonight drove from work, nipped in to shop, picked up DD from after school club, went home, made tea, dropped DS off at cricket, did aldi shop & now sitting in carpark waiting for DS to come out. Will be going home & sorting tomorrow's meals out! No wonder we get tired & run down.

So, tea today was baked potatoes, tomorrow's lunch is salad for dh & i, tea will be jambalaya in oven on timer.

We have decided to have a loft conversion done so in order to fund it we will have to be very disciplined. My parents may be able to help us if they sell some land left to mum by her parents. The sale is going through but v slowly.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/01/2016 21:24

Nk I'm sorry the job didn't work out. Your workplace sounds horrid.

Adora Do you move on Saturday?.

£2 moisturiser. I had a £10 voucher off GFK. I have a tracking app of some sort on the laptop. They give you money so it's all good.

Ordered a new mobile. £5 a month & £21 cashback I can hopefully take as clubcard points and spend on hotel stays. Couldn't bring myself to buy an iPhone 6s. My phones so old I can't find anyone to flog it to.
