I'm so excited about the Stick Man film! We love the Gruffalo ones and Room on the Broom. I was really disappointed on the years they didn't make one, I thought they'd given up with it so I actually squealed when I saw the advert! Xmas Blush

Girlfriend36 · 07/12/2015 12:12

£4 £4 for the Radio Times Shock

That is ridiculous!!

But its tradition in our family to have it in over Christmas so will still buy it begrudgingly Wink

AdoraBell · 07/12/2015 14:35

I remember the Radio and TV Times being separate.

I used to buy them when I first had my own place but haven't for decades years now and I don't think I need to change that.

Will need to pop out for milk and yoghurt later, am just waiting for DD2 to get back form school. DD1 has been off today, hence the need for more milk and yoghurt before my Sainsbo's delivery tomorrow Xmas Hmm

Girlfriend36 · 07/12/2015 15:59

The thread is a bit quiet today...... where are you all? Grin

I ventured out to The Range for a nosy as not been there before, thought it was an odd mix of everything tbh and some things seemed wildly over priced and then others really reasonable Confused Spent £15 on a few craft gifts for dd plus wrapping paper and other bits.

Got my Morrisons shop turning up later between 9-10pm, I always end up going for the very early or very late delivery slots as they are the cheapest!

Am working the rest of the week so should be fairly low spend....

Colliejollychristmas · 07/12/2015 16:08

Girlie that's a fab way to describe The Range! I've known stuff in there to be more expensive than John Lewis. And individual birthday cards are more pricey than Clinton's (in ours anyway). Random Christmas trees are twice as much as Tescos and look like one giant triangular bog brush. Grin

I remember when their litter trays were £5 more than Pets at Home premium ones. I almost fainted! Haha!

But then some of their craft bits are well priced.

Colliejollychristmas · 07/12/2015 16:10

(You can tell I used to be a buyer Blush)

Girlfriend36 · 07/12/2015 16:13

Collie they had a large tub of jelly beans on the till counter for £49.99 Grin I wonder how many they have sold??

I got 2 craft sets which were £5 each, one is a scented candle making kit which dd will love I think and the other something to do with minions! So they were quite cheap really but along side some really over priced games, weird!

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/12/2015 16:18

Luxy & Collie Flowers

I'm panicking at the thought of daisy being out of stock.

£7 yesterday on nip+fab pads & £3 on lunch today but I put it on the business card.

Dh has invited his parents for pre Christmas lunch but it will have to be frugal. I don't want to spend over £15 incl drinks.

Girlfriend36 · 07/12/2015 16:21

Fluffy keep meaning to thank you for the face cream recommendation - my skin has completely cleared up Shock thank you Flowers

CremeEggThief · 07/12/2015 16:51

Lovely trees, folk.

Adora, I hope your DD1 is on the mend now.

£7 travel; £3.60 on a gingerbread latte and a cinnamon biscuit ( I hated the gingerbread syrup! I won't try it again.); £5.85 on lunch with a friend; £6.05 in Pound land, on Blu-tac, bubble wrap, shampoo, gift tags, 2 mailing boxes and a packet of biscuits. Off to Pilates soon, which will be £14 for this week and next week. Total: £36.50.

CremeEggThief · 07/12/2015 16:52

I might treat myself to the festive Radio Times this week too. In common with many of you, it's the only time I ever buy it, or indeed, any telly guide.

Colliejollychristmas · 07/12/2015 16:55

I just twitched and bought a £2 car washing mitt and a £6 book for DH for Christmas. I sold some stuff on eBay last night which pays for my purchases....

And that is it!!! No more.... No more twitching!

SpottyTeacakes · 07/12/2015 18:22

Mmm dinner was really nice. Left over roast chicken, roasted onion, courgette, pepper and tomatoes in a hm tomato sauce with pasta. Clean plates all round Shock

Tomorrow I'm only working 6:45-9:30 as I've got four hours holiday to use. Considering going to finish my Christmas shopping.

babsmam · 07/12/2015 19:14

Hi. All ahem five ahem trees are up. Needed more lights and my fabulous child minder got me some £5. £21 in sainsburys and £18 in aldi. No more Christmas decorations until next year.

Hello all! Sounds like there are some tough times being had. Spendy few days, shopping trip to the Cotswolds with family was lovely, I managed to only buy the things I had on my list aside from an extra small thing for DH and £3 on chocolates in the chocolate shop, I've never chosen a few nice chocolates for myself before, it was an amazing joy! I only like particular chocolates so it was great. We got our tree yesterday, we go to a Christmas tree farm and choose one and have it cut down. It's a lovely day out. Sainsbury shop today and went only a bit over budget.

Lovely trees! NSD today. Going to write Xmas cards tonight so expect I'll be on here ranting about the cost of stamps tomorrow!

Colliejollychristmas · 07/12/2015 19:32

babs I think I misread that. 5 trees? Xmas Grin

what beautiful photos!! Beautifully decorated. Now time for a Brew

spotty your meal description always makes me jealous and hungry! Haha!

Ememem84 · 07/12/2015 19:38

Lovely trees y'all. My whopper of a tree is waiting to be decorated.

I swear in the time I've been out its grown a bit...

Showed work pictures of it today. They laughed. pure jealousy

Spent £20 on a jumper for dh today and £35 on two skirts for work for me. oops

Have been spinning so probably won't be able to walk tomorrow.

Looking forward to veggie pasta dinner and then couch. Then bed.

Colliejollychristmas · 07/12/2015 19:39

what is that your new coat that you mentioned a few days ago? It's gorgeous!

pointless oh no. I hadn't thought about stamp costs this year. :( last year it was pretty pricey.

DS should be fast asleep. Not nee-norring in his cot. It's too cute.

ipsos · 07/12/2015 19:47

Sounds lovely Collie. My ds used to try to climb out of the window at age. We got a lamp with a dimmer switch and that solved the problem but it took about three years to think of that.

babsmam · 07/12/2015 19:56

No I did say five (5) trees. Tbf there is only one big one they are in descending order 6,4, 2,2, 1.5 foot tall

Collie it is! It is very smart and I feel quite stylish wearing it. It's a lovely weight, thought I'm not sure the colour goes with my bright pink Hunter wellies! I bought the wellies for my wedding five years ago, we got married in the Lake District at the start of July, I got sunburnt and only wore them for a photo or two! Feeling so sad about the flooding, the poor people

Pointlessfan · 07/12/2015 20:10

Well done on the tree luxy mine always die!
Am having a mental block with meal planning, I can't remember what sort of things we have! Here is cobbled together meal plan:
Tues: Pasta with pesto/veg
W: Cauliflower and lentil curry
T: I'm going out with friends. DH is taking advantage and making chicken and mushroom concoction as I don't eat either!
F: Pizza, homemade if not too tired otherwise will call in Asda on way home.
S: Stir fry tofu and veg
S: Sausage, mash and veg
M: Shepherds pie using leftover mash and filling from freezer.
Also doing soup for lunches, sweet potato this week and Mexican bean at the weekend.

Colliejollychristmas · 07/12/2015 20:24

Luxy that's such a fab frugal win!

what your wedding sounds similar to mine :) its so sad about the flooding isn't it!
