luxy The house we rented years ago had about 5 xmas trees in the garden, I'm sure the ll had just planted them every year.

Dh is trying to weedle the crackers from the xmas stash so I'm going to murder him move the stash to a place of safety.

Girlie It's fab isnt it? skincares moved on so much.

Ursulatodd · 07/12/2015 20:52

Love the tree adora! Everyone is sounding suitably festive Smile

I returned from my weekend with money left in my purse but when dh picked me up from the station we decided to go out for lunch - £24.

£6.18 in Aldi today. I'm feeling a bit 'meh' about meal planning too so I've just planned/shopped for a few days rather than a week: tuna nicoise; leek&pot soup x 2; spaghetti hoops on toast. Il shop again on Friday for the weekend.

We have some major house/garden work starting next week. Long awaited and saved for but I'm still feeling nervous about upheaval and expense!

Wow, love the glitter-bots!
Have written 2 shopping lists for tomorrow, ons for supermarket one for most of the remaining Xmas gifts plus a couple of birthdays and something for DD to wear to a few parties she had coming up. Tomorrow is going to be spendy but at least we've saved up for Xmas this year.

AdoraBell · 07/12/2015 22:01

Thanks creme she looks better now than this morning and has managed some food, fingers crossed she'll be back to school tomorrow.

Glad the tree survived Luxy that's fab

Wow, 5 trees Xmas Grin

I spent another £40 in Sainbo's Xmas Hmm milk, yoghurt, fruit juice, cream, bacon, eggs, crisps, normal mince pies on offer so that DDs don't eat the expensive GF ones, a GF iced cake because DH will want "Christmas" cake and a fancy pants cheese board on offer that gives me a nice chopping board. Used half the bacon and 3 eggs for dinner, DDs had carbonara and I had an omlette with the egg whites I didn't use for the pasta plus one full egg, bacon and Parmesan.

Tomorrow they will have pizza, not sure what I'll eat yet.

AdoraBell · 07/12/2015 22:05

And thanks for the compliments on my tiny tree Xmas Grin I'm not actually feeling festive, think it's a combination of the weather, neither cold enough nor hot like the Chilean summers I became accostomed too Xmas Confused

Need to find some cheap tinsel.

Unescorted · 07/12/2015 22:07

Hi all. I had an unintentional NSD. Let my purse at home.
Loads of calls to colleagues in Cumbria. My heartbreaks for them. It is going to take a long time to get everyone back into their houses. Also all the peeps in Lancaster & around.

Loving the Christmas trees. Ours is up. Dd was in charge this year so it is all coordinated.

CremeEggThief · 07/12/2015 22:08

Glad to hear she's feeling better, Adora.

Whataboutreindeer · 07/12/2015 22:12

Fluffy my husband has declared it Christmas and eaten the cheeselet Christmas trees. Huff.

AdoraBell · 07/12/2015 22:22

Do you mind if I ask what the face cream is please?

The house we built in Chile has a huge Douglas fir in the front, because the ground there is so fertile it grew to about 40 feet. That's another reason for my lack of festive mood. I know this place is nit long term so I almost feel it's north worth putting any effort into the house.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 07/12/2015 22:44

I'm way behind again. Sorry that everyone's feeling ill at the moment.

Had a couple of nsd over the weekend. £31 in argos and £11 in tesco today though. Although I did get a salmon fillet for dinner that was reduced to 93p.

Slightly inspired by the success with ynab, I've decided to start tackling the out of control pile of paperwork and filing that's been building up forever. So far, I've cleared 1 surface and found a book that I haven't read yet.

Pointlessfan · 08/12/2015 06:19

Adora Wilkos have cheap tinsel and it's nice a fluffy, not wiry and cheap-looking.

lilacclery · 08/12/2015 06:53

Caught up again!
Sunday was meant to be put up the tree & decorations day in our house but ds was still in hospital so I came out & took dd to her Christmas concert & for hot choc afterwards instead. Then yesterday he came home but went to bed for 4 hours & the attic is accessed from Childrens room so maybe today instead.

Colliejollychristmas · 08/12/2015 07:34

Adora I understand how you feel. We were on the edge of moving out of our last house last Christmas and I couldn't be bothered to make any effort. It was so damp & mouldy that nothing looked pretty. We took the decs down on Boxing Day! Xmas Shock bah humbug!

what your DH is so cheeky! I've hidden ours far far away. My DH would have scoffed the lot if he could

lilac poor little boy. I've been thinking of you. Flowers

Colliejollychristmas · 08/12/2015 07:42

Scottish Power are back to being ridiculously shite again.

ipsos · 08/12/2015 08:04

We've got a proper tree now instead of the 6" one that we had when ds was tiny. Still in the attic at the moment though.

Ursula what are you having done? We're in the middle of that at the moment and I actually have been quite enjoying it. It makes life interesting and means the autumn cannot drag.

Pointlessfan · 08/12/2015 09:29

Pleased DS is home lilac, how is he?
Just spent £73 in Asda again, I have to rein it in! Spent £12 on 3 packs of nappies and £9 on a book for mum's Xmas present (reduced from £20 - result!) plus a load of Xmas chocolates for my year 11 class who are doing exams at the moment, thought if might cheer them up.

lilacclery · 08/12/2015 10:29

thanks pointless he's doing great, back to his usual self!

Finally become affectionate again, he was so sick he didn't even give kisses or cuddles.

Colliejollychristmas · 08/12/2015 10:40

lilac so happy he's back to himself.

CremeEggThief · 08/12/2015 11:12

Glad to hear that, LilacSmile.

babsmam · 08/12/2015 11:12

That's good news lilac.

New oven is in. New rad going on. Wrapping started = productive day

OP posts:
Whataboutreindeer · 08/12/2015 11:24

Great news lilac and babs that's very productive!

Waitrose have sent me an £8 off when you spend £40 voucher and a £14 when you spend £70 voucher. I can't decide whether to try and use them or not or what on. It isn't for use on things including stamps and formula which is what I would buy to get the value out of it. Hmmmmm. I would like a nice bunch of flowers for the house over Christmas and we have guests next weekend and I haven't bought the meat etc for it. Would it be that much cheaper to just shop somewhere else? Argh. Head exploded.

babsmam · 08/12/2015 12:11

Santa is bored with wrapping now.

What do a shop on my supermarket using occasion and see if it is better value before you redeem the vouchers. I have been known to do a virtual shop purely for price comparisons. If you go ahead they can send your list to ocaddo too
