Hope it's okay to start the new thread since the other one is already full
£1 at Cornwall Ambulance shop for 3 books for dc after I dropped off my old slow cooker and some books and £1 at Prospect hospice for some wool and fabric
Just made cauliflower cheese with some bacon and cavolo nero for dh who had it for lunch and there is enough for his dinner too, the rest of us are having homemade burgers, buns and wedges

Hi spotty - I see what you mean. I would just follow your instincts on that. If he is like that then he won't notice the kindness, and you'll just be saddled with the resentment. Much better just to ignore the traditional Christmas trappings and let everybody be happy.

SpottyTeacakes · 04/11/2015 14:48

I'm hosting for some of my family this year anyway. Although with my niece being dairy free and my sister vegan I'm beginning to regret the offer Xmas Grin

ipsos · 04/11/2015 14:54

LOL! spotty yes that's going to be tricky. Can you just ask those two what they want, make it in advance and heat it up? Or get them to bring it? I have a funny diet and I'm oh so much happier when people just let me do my own food. Much safer than the russian roulette that is being fed by others. Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 04/11/2015 14:59

Luckily, although we don't live nearby, we're close (talk every day) so it shouldn't be too hard. I told her she can have a carrot Xmas Grin

Collieputthekettleon · 04/11/2015 15:18

Just did my weekly shop and it was PS62! Bloody need to get back into fortnightly shops. Blush

Collieputthekettleon · 04/11/2015 15:19

What's all this "PS" bollocks? I used a pound sign!! Pah. Is it just me who is getting PS instead of an actual pound sign?

Pointlessfan · 04/11/2015 15:36

Thanks everyone, gp was very reassuring, said my BMI is ok and is going to sort out a full set of blood tests.
For those of you with toddlers I've just found a great frugal activity - DD has spent the last half hour carefully feeding drinking straws into the holes in the colander. It looks like the Millennium Dome!

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/11/2015 15:39

NSD. Used dh's nectar card to pick up 500 points for shopping in sainsburys but bought stuff with vouchers so it was free and got 1000 points for my nectar off e rewards.

I am aiming for £25 on my nectar card for fil present.

There is a free carbon monoxide alarm on MSE so I applied for one.

SpottyTeacakes · 04/11/2015 15:49

No collie I am too although fluffy's is showing as a pound sign. Wonder if mine is £10

SpottyTeacakes · 04/11/2015 15:49

Mines working Confused

CremeEggThief · 04/11/2015 15:52

Collie, there's a thread about PS in chat. Apparently, it's how mumsnet are converting our pound signs. I've only noticed it since Monday.

Glad the gp reassured you, Pointless. Consultants aren't always the most sensitive and empathetic of folk.

NSD.

There you go pointless Smile

£28 in Aldi, when I only wanted butter and facial wipes. I did however buy my Christmas pudding and 4 pairs of riding socks for DD.

Trying to use the Match and More vouchers I have been sent through my Morrisons, but it involves spending £70 per week. Trying to spread out Christmas food and drink spending over a few weeks as I don't usually spend that much.

I might apply for the Carbon Monoxide alarm too fluffy

Collieputthekettleon · 04/11/2015 16:12

Let me try again Grin £

pointless what an amazing idea for DS! Thank you. Glad the GP is proactive.

fluffy I was given 750 bonus points just for buying anything in Homebase. So we bought a Mars bar. You may have the same offer on your online Nectar account. Also 2000 points for listing something on eBay. Not sure how strict the criteria is though. Will have a read later.

Collieputthekettleon · 04/11/2015 16:12

Yay it worked! Hello Mr Pound Sign ££

SpottyTeacakes · 04/11/2015 16:15

Do I need a carbon monoxide alarm? There's no gas here but next door has an open fire Confused

lilacclery · 04/11/2015 16:17

Pointless that sounds like something both my 5 & almost 2 year old(Monday's his birthday!) would enjoy. He posted a full pack of twistables in through the hole of the surround sound speaker earlier in the weekGrin

I had bloods done 2.5 weeks ago still waiting to hear results -they're at gp's but can't get to talk to her to find out what they were, apparently the nurse will ring me.

babsmam · 04/11/2015 16:23

Spotty don't bother, just get the one year old a token gift.
Went to morrisons for selection boxes £18

babsmam · 04/11/2015 16:25

Pleased the doctor was OK. You may just be a natural rake. As long as you check out fine don't worry. Us chubsters envy you Wink

lilacclery · 04/11/2015 16:28

Doing up a Christmas Box for dd & ds for night of Late Late Toy Show - so far I've got Christmas PJ's(bought from AliExpress), Selection Boxes & Popcorn(not purchased yet) Slippers(dd's came from Aliexpress - will reuse a pair of christmas slipper socks for ds as he's not really gone on slippers) Hot Water Bottles(In Aldi tomorrow) may put Christmas PJ's & slippers for myself and dh in too(slippers are coming from aliexpress, will check out penneys for pj's) That's enough isn't it. Maybe Christmas Throw to snuggle under?

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/11/2015 16:48

collie I haven't got those offers Sad. Have you got the gourmet society one? 1000 points for a 3 months £1 trial?.

spotty you dont need one.

Collieputthekettleon · 04/11/2015 16:56

lilac sounds amazing! Your lucky DCs :)

fluffy yep I have that one too but I'm too scared to join in case I forget to cancel. Blush the eBay Nectar offer was found in my spam folder. It was a good job I looked in there.

ipsos · 04/11/2015 17:00

I just signed up to Nectar and I just have one offer of points if I buy from some clothing shops like House of Frazer.

SayAGreatBigThankyou · 04/11/2015 17:13

spotty Christmas catering for vegans here too Hmm

Very LSD as used nectar points to buy bits and only had to pay 60p Grin

Although not quite a LSD as ordered online shop - new plan is to splurge each week and try not to pop in constantly, spending a tenner each time!!!
