Just made cauliflower cheese with some bacon and cavolo nero for dh who had it for lunch and there is enough for his dinner too, the rest of us are having homemade burgers, buns and wedges

Job centre, not jon! Argh!

CremeEggThief · 05/11/2015 20:27

Not really, Babs. I have a few friends I have coffee or lunch with occasionally, but that's it.

blueteapot · 05/11/2015 20:28

Grin need - you are probably onto something there, I should probably toughen up! I think I make him sound worse than he is lol. He does all the car stuff / leaf sweeping etc and I suspect if I actually assigned him some jobs theyd get done (at his own pace lol)

The long weekend hosting friends shop came in at £142 in tesco and £17 at the butchers. Includes plenty of alcohol, treats, and all the meals for the weekend .. but still £100 more than we'd normally spend of a week! Budgeted for though so I dont feel quite so bad.

I have my glass of wine poured ready for DS to go to bed Grin

Welcome new folk and I would love a frugaleers meet up lol!

blueteapot · 05/11/2015 20:31

Fuzz I am glad you got your diagnosis! Cake I have a friend with aspergers. Hes a lovely guy and does very well indeed, but I cant imagine living with the social interaction issues he has long term without being able to put a label on it

babsmam · 05/11/2015 20:41

Ah that's difficult creme. Keep with us we will listen.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 05/11/2015 20:48

DEA - Disability Employment advisor. They were really helpful and you don't need to be signing on. The job centre were actually really helpful when I wasn't signing on. I don't think you are part of their targets if you aren't claiming.

Am happy to pm you if you want a bit more info but don't want to put too much on the thread iyswim.

Girlfriend36 · 05/11/2015 21:16

Fuzz thats good that you have a diagnosis and things make more sense for you. When dd was diagnosed with SPD I did begin to wonder if I had a few sensory issues myself!! Might explain some of my struggles with certain foods for a start.

Have spent another £32 tonight on 2 calendars from Snapfish, not done the photo calendars before so hope they come out o.kay. Have got one for my mum and one for my dad and stepmum for Christmas.

Still got fireworks going off here, my girl cat is properly traumatised Sad she is shaking under the sofa, boy cat is fine (the only thing that completely petrifies him is the man from the council coming round on his mower Confused )

Right last bit of tidying up and bed for me, who is starting the next thread then? Wink

ipsos · 05/11/2015 21:22

How interesting fuzz. That's very nice that the doc said you could look away if that helped. I imagine that they can learn a huge amount based on whether you take them up on that.

I used to work with someone who was definitely ASD and it was very very clear even when I interviewed for the job, just from the way that she related to to people, and from her mannerisms. She was a fabulously hard worker though and had an astonishing memory for numbers. I wonder if your skill with the piano relates to that in some way?

I always got the feeling that my colleague had deleted some of the usual social skills to make space for some other really unique and surprising gifts. It took me a while to learn that she understood language differently from me, but once I got that, things were so much easier. Perhaps you can learn what it is that you need from people and tell them upfront. I think they would like that.

I have had a bit of a skim read - sorry if I have missed news.

Did 31weeks have her baby on Sunday? Breathless hope it is all going well with Lysander (still loving the name)

Creme - I feel for you. It is so frustrating when you aren't even given a chance.

North I am not looking forward to the 25th. We have already been asked if we are going to consider VR. Not a good sign.

Big hugs and pots of tea for all the poorly ones.

Free carbon monoxcide alarm www.corgihomeplan.co.uk/help-and-advice/guides/free-carbon-monoxide-alarm for who ever was looking for one.

A meet up would be fab - I think a big picnic Grin

CremeEggThief · 05/11/2015 22:03

Please do pm me, Rafa.

blueteapot · 05/11/2015 22:10

Started a new thread for when this one fills up

CremeEggThief · 05/11/2015 22:20

Gosh, already?Shock

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/11/2015 22:45

Creme Does your trade union hold local meet ups? I'm just thinking that it would get you known to more people who could help you find work. Linked in is meant to be really good too.

I am sorry you're so down, you do really well to look after you and your ds.

£3.20 on a scented candle, it's in the utility/cats office.
£1 on a lighter to light the damn thing.
£6 in tesco.
£1 asda.
