Binglet congrats on selling the fish tank! Nice little bonus!

pointless your pate sounds terrific!

Ended up taking the kids to town on the bus. It's actually a good time filler, because we live so far out we need to drive to a bus route. So €5 for the bus, €8 in the cafe for cake and babyccinos, €2.50 for boots curl cream (read loads about it on here, and the frizz ease I usually use is €10 a bottle!) And €5 on some fidget toys for ds 1 for school. Not bad, and it filled a good 3.5 hours. Loads of walking too!

lilacclery · 10/08/2015 16:47

TheOnlyPink if you've a salon supply shop nearby Equave leave in detangling conditioner is €14.99 but lasts months and doesn't leave residue, dd has curly hair. If you know a hairdresser with a trade card, you'll get it cheaper, often comes in a set with shampoo too for same price which softens the blow of paying out so much money!

Binglet & girlie inspired by your sales I'm going to relist some dresses that are currently residing on an armchair on the landing for sale!

Promising dd we'd bring her on a train since christmas holidays and hasn't happened yet, I work weekdays dh works weekends as well as during the week. Never thought of the bus, did they enjoy it?

SpottyTeacakes · 10/08/2015 17:01

Bing we went last year (or maybe the year before?) dd keeps asking to go so it's a surprise Smile great news on the fish tank.

I think I've just sold one of our gro blinds they're good but it gets too hot with them.

I had three prescriptions to collect Blush

Fluffy I hope you get your new shade. I forget you're a podiatrist, do you do your dh's feet Grin I see a podiatrist at my diabetes centre they're all lovely.

TheOnlyPink · 10/08/2015 17:05

lilac Thanks for the tip on the conditioner! Not sure where the nearest salon shop is, but will look into it. My hair is thick, wavy and very frizzy.
They loved the bus! It was a double decker, so sat upstairs. Ds2 had been talking about going on the bus for ages! He loved it, and ds 1 who is 8 was being all cool, but he loved it too! The train is horrendously expensive. Think the train to town from where I am is €3.95 per child return and €6 for an adult.

NK if it makes you feel any better, I have had to apply my third nit treatment this Summer! We've had it all in the past though.

Rafa my DS has the VW van - it is awesome. There is a brilliant book called Brick City which you can get through the Book People which has loads of brilliant ideas for more advanced Lego.

NSD for me today.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 10/08/2015 17:58

thanks fluffy and collie Smile

Meal plan looks like this so far:

spag bol with sugar snap peas
fish cakes (home made but freezer) + carrot and beet salad, cucumber
sausages with spiced red cabbage, swede and sage hash, spuds (all freezer except spuds)
rhubarb crumble (pud for 2-3 days)
slow cooker dahl with rice, salad (dahl from freezer)
veg soup (freezer) + ham
tofu stir fry with all veg left in fridge (classy Grin )

I have a lot of frozen odd pieces of bread as DH is a manic saver of things and hates waste - any breadcrumb/bread recipes??

SpottyTeacakes · 10/08/2015 18:27

Bread and butter pudding? Stuffing?

Pink I can't really take much credit for the pate, it's Jamie's pie filling, I just repurposed it!
Welcome back MissA your meal plan sounds great. Here's mine:
Frittata
Pasta and broccoli with cheese sauce
Tomato and feta tart (which sound posh but will be tomatoes and feta on top of frozen puff pastry!)
Jacket potatoes with Bolognese sauce and grated cheese.

wheelycote · 10/08/2015 19:11

Just popping my head in, quickly before go running. Haven't caught up with whole days thread just yet....

did we start a winter checklist thread? sounds a good ideaSmile
Pink and my turn definately gearing up to do the checklist and thinking about what to put on it...my turn would love to collaborate Grin Will come back later with ideas

Pointless loved and hated it. Wasn't expecting having my face eaten off my midgies and found that cooking I side would melt the tent - I took duc tape though Grin The nights were blumin cold - definately hot water bottles next time. But loved it, back to basics and appreciated my little rented house once home. Kielder was beautiful!!!! we mountain bikes on trails, hiked miles and miles, took boat rides and mooched. The stars were amazing - were going back in Oct with the lenses for sons telescope (guaranteed he'd left them behind). My dp turned up on day 2 thinking I would've packed his things stating I should know he's as useless at that stuff as the kids...very funny seeing his face drop at realising I hadn't been a 'mind reader or superwoman or his personal skivvy' he's a grown man Envy. loved the camping tent is drying out in my little front room as we speak and everyone is banned from using the room for a day.

Got in from work and put my ofgem complaint, timeline and evidence together...emailed to ofgem, the CEO of first utility and BBC watchdog. Fingers crossed I can get this bill downSmile feeling proactive.

Goodness I've written loads better go and catch up later. hope you've all had a good day!!Biscuit Brew Biscuit Brew Wine Wine Wine Wine Wine

peppapissinpig · 10/08/2015 19:25

Is anyone on this thread a podiatrist? DH has plantar facetious and is in agony. He's doing the exercises but needs some new supportive shoes/boots.

Anyone in the foot business able to recommend a brand of shoes/in soles??

Myturnnow4 · 10/08/2015 19:27

I've started a winter is coming thread, hope that's ok.

SpottyTeacakes · 10/08/2015 19:28

Maybe he should get a referral to orthotics?

peppapissinpig · 10/08/2015 19:38

Is a GP able to refer Spotty?

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/08/2015 19:41

You can buy off the shelf orthotic devices, if they work you've avoided the waiting list.

If not your down on money. They don't usually refund medical items like that.

I'd always say see a pod first because if the cause is mechanical ie the arch has collapsed over and you have a steroid injection then it wont actually work and the injection is particularly painful.

SpottyTeacakes · 10/08/2015 19:46

I assume a GP can refer. I always go through neuro or physio though.

Evilwater · 10/08/2015 19:52

I can't find that list!

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/08/2015 19:55

Gp usually but some areas are open referral.

Open referral ie you just ring us and ask to be assessed makes me twitchy because the world and his wife want podiatry.

Some people turn up after retiring saying "I'm a pensioner, I can get my feet done free now". Not if you got me though because I used to discharge them.

It used to cost £60+ each visit for the pct to send patients to an nhs pod so you need to prioritize care to the high risk groups.

peppapissinpig · 10/08/2015 19:58

Fluffy...I take it you are a pod??

SpottyTeacakes · 10/08/2015 19:59

We have self referral to pods but not orthotics. You fill in a form and we pass it on then the pod phones the patient and books them in if they think they need it.
