Spotty that is ridiculous, round here you just ring them up and they drop them off for you!

We had a really random tea in the end Grin

Dd had fishfingers, rice (which she didn't eat Angry) avocado, beetroot and cucumber.

I had a Birdseye chicken breast thingy with rice and broccoli and yesterdays homemade gravy!!

It was all frugal as needed using up.

Only needed to buy lunch, but the lunch options at college are rubbish now the students are on holiday so ended up spending nearly £6 in The Co-op.

Am packing up my youngest DS to go to France with school - why is it that I suddenly find out he doesn't have enough underwear to last the week, where has it all gone!?

Evilwater · 08/07/2015 20:04

collie if your struggling, with lack of social life did you wanna meet up?

Groan..... Just a 1% pay rise. This is the thanks I get for working in the NHS. :(
Car tax :(

Hello! I'm a long time lurker but I have posted once or twice. I really enjoy reading everyday but I don't think I have any interesting to add so I never post. I have just reapplied for my Warm Home grant so I hopefully that is useful information for someone.

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/07/2015 20:32

£5 very VOUCHER if you do a home insurance quote with them.

No idea why thats in caps.

You don't have to be fascinating to post here. I've bored everyone to tears with led light bulbs and spindryers, tassimo machines, hot water pipe lagging......

You have to pity dh having to live with me.

sometimessunshine · 08/07/2015 20:39

Fluffy those sort of things posts are why I love this thread, your posts on LED light bulbs inspired me to change all the bulbs in my house over to LED.

Spent £40 on physio and going again next week. Panicking about how I'm going to manage with DD over the school hols when I am struggling to walk and drive. I really need to get better in the next 10 days!
Other than that a good frugal day with dinner out of the freezer.
Haven't properly looked at the budget yet so I don't really know where it will leave us. If my maths was better I'd work out my hourly rate and see how it compares to the minimum wage!
I don't really understand what is going to happen with childcare in the new budget either, can anyone enlighten me please? We use the salary sacrifice and childcare vouchers at the moment.

God if we have to be fascinating to post here I'm out. Life is so hectic but the same treadmill of work, kids, house etc al and repeat.

I love hearing about other people even if you think you don't have anything to say that you think is interesting.

1% here too woo hoo. What can I spend it on (sarcastic)

Oh no found out already! ;)

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/07/2015 21:31

Sometimes dh asks me what I'm looking at on the internet and I say "water saving shower heads" or "insulation for under hard flooring".

He sighs and says "and I worry someone will steal you away from me" in a "my god theyd bring you back when you start on about that tone".

Painting furniture is fun, I painted our lounge mirror to match the fire surround and it looked so much better in there afterwards.

Fluffy I have conversations like that with DH too! He always looks at me like I'm mad but then gets all excited about the time/money/space/whatever we are saving. Our recently purchased water butt is a good example. I wanted it and did all the research, he now raves about it and has taken over garden-watering duties - result!
I just realised we're going to my mum's on Saturday and she lives by Lidl so we can do our weekly shop there on the way. I am a bit too excited about it! Boring, me??!!

JamHoneyMarmite · 08/07/2015 21:57

Ipsos that's really kind but I think I'll have to keep shoving the mower round myself and dreaming of the day LO is old enough to be bribed love me so much they rush to do it for me Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 09/07/2015 06:45

Taking ds to a play farm today I have £20 to spend. It'll be almost that to get in!

Anyway who knows the cheapest way to do the London eye? Are dc free? I'm so confused looking at the different sites, dd really wants to do it though.

Yesterday £2.75 on a coffee. I don't have the coffee habit, but I'd only had one in the morning (in a different office) and my head was dropping while driving home from Southend.

girliefriend · 09/07/2015 09:53

Day off today (must get off mn Wink) going to cycle into town in a min, must sort out my mobile need to get my bill down to less than a tenner a month!!

Am thinking ahead to other bdays I have this month. Have got my nephew who will be turning 12, have no idea what 12 year old boys like so may cop out and just give him money! Also my step mother (whom I'm not that close to) think she maybe turning 60 so should get her something i suppose. Will have a mooch in town...

Have a look here and see if any of the neighbours are band B. cti.voa.gov.uk/cti/inits.asp. My mum challenged a band rise and won.

Is that £155 for 10 months? we pay over 12 so although we're no better off its less to find each month. £1550 over 12 payments is £129.

£7 lawn treatment and tea bags in sains.
£2 cheap meds and shandy in home bargains
£2 spatula and hair removing cream in pound land (they had huge bottles of branded soy sauce and sweet chilli)
£2 cat food, lard, spring water for the orchid & pâté in aldi.
99p on a birthday card.
