Well I did text a mum saying we should have coffee, she said yes let me know when you're free, I said oh I'm free most Wednesday's and that was all that was said Blush

I really want to be one of those people that mumsnet hates and try to buy our HA house. in my dreams

lilacclery · 07/07/2015 19:24

spotty give her one more try next Mon maybe text & say wonder if you're free Wed for coffee & a Gossip & see where it goes from there.

I'm like 574ejones a lot of the young mums around here don't work or work on a scheme so are off a lot during the week where as I work full-time, luckily dhs niece is one of them & I've got to know a few of them as a result. I've a friend from college living relatively close too & we have children similar ages plus I'm a small bit of an old lady, I love to curl up on couch with tv or phone so I don't feel I'm missing out too much.

I've been inspired to put my wardrobe clear out up on fb by a friend who has made £££s doing the same. I intend to put them up cheap & just get rid.

Just checking in, 45 pence spent today. Wow!

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/07/2015 20:25

I think it's much harder to make friends as an adult. Last couple we socialised with ended after the dh tried to ram his tongue down my throat and told me they lived separate lives.

£2.60 parking
£3 top up shop.

£8 last night on fish and chips because I had painted the kitchen for 10 hours and I was knackered.

SpottyTeacakes · 07/07/2015 20:27

Shock Fluffy!

Nsd.

girliefriend · 07/07/2015 20:31

Been to the fair tonight, always a pocket emptying exercise! Wanted to stick to a budget of £10 but that didn't last long, reckon actual spend was about £17 Shock thank God it only rolls into town once a year!!

School gate friendships are a funny one, I am glad I don't do the pick up every day as sometimes find it all a bit awkward as well. I have a few mums that I chat to but no one I would really call a friend tbh but I can't say it bothers me that much. I am fortune that i have a few good friends around though that I have known since school!!

Spotty I do think some of dds 'attitude' is linked to the sensory issues in that she doesn't handle frustration that well, although am sure some of it is just normal 9yo cheekiness as well Grin

Fluffy Shock unbelievable!!

girlie my DD is 1 and a bit. She seems to have forgiven me now for being away all weekend! I left work at 4 today so I could pick her up a bit early and play with her.
Just spent £20 in Boots. Bought some half price clothes for DD for next summer, some posh bubble bath plus another half price which will be a good Xmas gift for someone and some stuff that I'm hoping will transform my crazy hair into a sleek, shiny style!
Couldn't find any shorts I liked so I'm going to wear DH's footie shorts. I will look like a pillock but at least I didn't spend any money on them!

girliefriend · 07/07/2015 21:26

Ahh Pointless she is just a baby, babies are notoriously fickle creatures Grin

I realised today that the stuff on Amazon that i bought last week still hasn't come out of my account Confused doesn't it normally come out straight away?

Passthecake30 · 07/07/2015 21:31

Shame all of us lonely souls don't live closer. I'm another one who gets shunned at the school gates, now I work FT and only do the school run occasionally I am so much happier not to have the reminder! I am having trouble at work too though - I've only been there 5 weeks but it's noticeable that there are youngsters and older people and not many people in the middle. Even though everyone is nice hardly anyone is in the same time in life as me ifykwim so it's harder to find common interests (as in I don't have time for any interests!)

Been a few spendy days, took my mum out to Frankie and Bennys and spent £95 Shock - 3 adults and 2 kids meals. She said she didn't want a present though so I got her a cheapie bunch of flowers. £25 ish in Matalan on a floppy hat for me, sunglasses for dp and dd. £65 on food delivery (included 2 boxes of beer), £60 home hairdresser, £40 petrol.

I'm sorry some of you are finding things hard. I'm the annoying mum that talks to everyone, But I'm rubbish with names.

I do the drop off just about every day, but rarely pick up. The nice thing is I'm not usually too rushed in the mornings.

£5 for lunch, included a pack of cherries I shared with DD1. £2.23 buying pain au chocolat and lettuce.

AdoraBell · 08/07/2015 05:14

£300, round about, on X-rays and a Dr re-aligning my dislocated toe, plus the anasthetic and general looking after.

DH bought dog food, can't remember how much it was now.

Will try to catch up tomorrow. If I fall off the thread it's because of setting up in the UK, but I will try to keep track.

babsmam · 08/07/2015 06:17

No spends yesterday other than planned exercise class. Nice one collie.

Iswym about school gates I'm there mon and Fri and it is so cliquey. I say hi to a couple and chat to a but there are definitely groups that look hard to integrate with. I'm lucky I don't give a fig anymore but was hard when I did.
Well done on getting out there collie. I think you are right about people being lonely my local Facebook group is full of people wanting to meet other mums.
Nsd today as school play and work

babsmam · 08/07/2015 06:18

Adora welcome back. Hope setting up goes ok. See you soon

babsmam · 08/07/2015 06:19

Sorry other are feeling lonely. It can be really hard. I remember it well.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/07/2015 06:37

Oh no adora how did you do that? Sorry if you've already said Blush

Just went to eat my toast and the bread was mouldy Sad so annoying because I'd already given myself my insulin so had to find the equivalent.

Unfortunately need to buy some bits for picnic tomorrow and some top up bits (peas bread).

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/07/2015 07:32

M&S sale is now 70% off.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/07/2015 07:35

So who's dreading the budget as much as me today?

Peppapissinpig · 08/07/2015 08:31

Final wave for 12 days, just off on jolly holidays. Fingers crossed all remains calm in Greece and catch up with you lovely lot on my return. Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/07/2015 08:35

Have a lovely holiday Peppa.

I wonder if we are being weaned off tax credits spotty?.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/07/2015 08:41

I'm worried about the rent. We earn £31000 between us and the rent could go up £500 a month if it were to be market value. We don't get much in tax credits (£50 a month) so we could cope without it but it definitely helps with school clothes and shoes etc. it will just make sense for me to give up work if they do this (which I don't want to do you all know how much I've wanted a new job!)
