I know Collie flipping cats indeed Grin boy cat has now had his trip to the vets as well (mush to his disgust Wink) he is fine, although the vet did point out that he is starting to get a little bit of a middle age spread!!

Have decided to keep DD off tomos, its so hot I think she would struggle and it is a really long day (8am-6pm) she is disappointed but for the best I think. My mum can have her so shouldn't impact on work which is a relief.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/06/2015 16:07

We've got a massive gazebo which I've just put up. It was £30 from halfords and is pop up. It's 29 here today and both dc are really suffering I think. Only thing I can put their crying/fighting/stropping down to.

Nsd

JamHoneyMarmite · 30/06/2015 16:12

Massive spend day - emergency tooth repair at dentist Sad. Oh well.

needastrongone · 30/06/2015 16:18

It is indeed very hot, the DC have come in moaning and complaining about the heat. The dogs are panting and trying to stay cool. I love it, I could easily emigrate Smile

Sorry your DD isn't feeling so good girlie. They do pick up very quickly, so you might be able to make the call tomorrow about the trip. But, the heat would swing it for me in favour of staying at home, like you.

Having said that, I was quite tough with the kids and used to boot them out to school unless they had a broken leg!! Now they are older, they make the call usually and I trust them.

fluffy We loan the current pony, so we will find her a new home. She deserves to be out and about and doing some other kids lots of good.

Today I have spent £11 at M&S. Had some vouchers to use, so stocked up on salads and juices, bread and chicken thighs (same price as anywhere else), but the vouchers were in £20 amounts and I didn't want to waste one.

I won't need a supermarket shop this week, just a top up from Aldi as we are competing this weekend.

collie I have ice cream! Was at doctors with vomiting bug & diarrhoea & he recommended flat 7up with some salt, only had my bank card & minimum spend was €5 so I bought vienetta. €45 to doctor & three day cert.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/06/2015 18:27

SpottyTeacakes · 30/06/2015 18:45

Should I try that with ds? I could have got it free from the Dr but if I can buy it OTC then I do try.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/06/2015 19:30

I think the online pharmacies can work out cheap on generic anti histamines if you order in bulk. I've seen it on hotukdeals so it must be true. I have to have syrup piriton because the tablets contain what I'm allergic to.

girlie see how she is tomorrow. I had terrible earache as a child so I know how she feels. Maybe the heat would help clear it? I used to lay down next to the radiator and listen to my ear pop.

Has the toothache gone though jam?.

£4.76 in aldi on chips, bread, wheat beer and g&t.

AdoraBell · 30/06/2015 19:35

Apparently eating honey produced where you live helps with hay fever, bit like vaccines iyswim.

Hope DD feels better quickly girlie also hope you recover swiftly lilac

Grin at new pony

Thanks for the well wishes. MIL has improved but Drs not willing to discharge her. She's not the kind of person to take illness lying down and would be running round after perfectly able bodied FIL instead of taking care of her health if she were to come home. They hope to operate later in the week. DH is exhausted. Of course he didn't sleep on the flight despite thinking he was tired enough to sleep anywhere.

Today I spent about £40 between the supermarket and greengrocer's plus a coffee after Pilates which was £2.50. The place where we do Pilates is freezing cold at this time of year and I needed to thaw out before getting petrol, that was £35, also £2 on the road for school run. Traffic is too bad on the other roads during the morning rush hour so I'll be using the motorway, that'll be another £6.

AuditAngel · 30/06/2015 19:39

Fluffy is right about the antihistamines. I suffer really badly with insect bites, mostly Mosquitos, but anything passing seems to join in. I usually take Claritin, but got 6 months of a generic one for £2.39!!!!!!

£4.39 for lunch. Had chaos this morning at home. DD1 (8) seems to have cystitis, DS wanted pancakes for breakfast, managed to splash hot oil onto his foot, dealing with all that meant no time to make a sandwich.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/06/2015 19:44

I know I could have got it cheaper but closest pharmacy is a small one attached to the Drs and I needed it ASAP. Poor ds.

Girlie hope dd is better soon. I would probably keep her home.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/06/2015 20:01

We lived in a village that had a honey producer and it was £4.50 a jar. I suspect the jar was not gold plated.

Sometimes you can plan ahead for illness but not always. I have potassium citrate in the cupboard, not had cystitis for 10 years but if I get it again I will be smug.

I also need to have a chest infection to make the friars balsam earn it's keep too.

Interesting about the antihistamine online. I saw the deals on hotdeals but always hesitated about buying. I buy mine from Aldi, along with all the other generic stuff. I walk into Boots and wonder how on earth they can charge what they do.

Grin and the gold plated honey.

adora My MIL has been in and out of hospital for the last 3 months and one of us stays with her all the time now. I haven't posted on here about that before, but it's exhausting at times, so you have my sympathies.

JamHoneyMarmite · 30/06/2015 20:39

yes, the tooth feels alright now (apart from a bit tender from having my mouth pulled around!) and I am trying to count my blessings that it wasn't as much as Collie's - that might have caused a coronary!

Evilwater · 30/06/2015 20:41

Sorry to whinge, but what a shitty day!
My best friend had her cat put to sleep, and my mum was in a four car crash. It's not her fault, some idiot tried to push through at a large amount of speed. Plus ex is being a twat.

Cost today: £5.00

I'm waiting for the third.

Peppapissinpig · 30/06/2015 20:47

Sorry you've had such a shite day Evil and hope your mum is ok

Evilwater · 30/06/2015 21:04

She's fine peppa, shaken up but ok.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/06/2015 21:08

Evil how horrible Sad I've been in a car crash and it's horrible Thanks for your mum

AdoraBell · 30/06/2015 21:17

Hope your mum is okay Evil and Thanks for your friend and her cat.

I use bicarbonate of soda for cystitis, a teaspoon dissolved in a glass of water. One per hour for 3 hours. It's neutralizes the urine so it doesn't burn, always worked for me. Tastes rotten though.

Fluffy what size was the jar? I have no clue of the price of honey over there as I've only been using it a few years. Never liked it until I tasted it here. Must be the different flora. That's just a bit less than I pay for a kilo.

My sympathies to you too Need Thanks

babsmam · 30/06/2015 21:25

£31 odd on deisel. Charity day at work £2.50

Pleased your mum is ok evil.
Sorry to hear about your mil needs.

Peppapissinpig · 30/06/2015 21:32

Yes I use bicarb for cystitis. Tastes hideous (have to hold my nose when drinking it ????) but it does the job
