5/12
£4.10 bus
£10 panto
55p bus for DD
£12 chocolate for quiz prize!
£12.49 costume for DD - getting most of this back as DD saved her pocket money (unfortunately price went up slightly since then)

fuzzpig · 06/12/2014 00:34

Will be spendy tomorrow (well, today really) as going out for my birthday :) can't wait! Have train vouchers though and clubcard vouchers for lunch, concert tickets paid ages ago so hopefully not too bad.

fuzzpig · 06/12/2014 00:36

Really should be sleeping but feel a bit wired - relied on caffeine to get me through a work party and now can't switch off! Tempted to go through my amazon wishlist, I've got plenty of spending money left...

I didn't spend! Actually ended up looking for presents for DSD2 (didn't order just 'watched' on eBay) - it's funny, in previous years she's been much easier to buy for than her sister (16yo twins) but I'm struggling this year! They are both such lovely girls and actually never ask for anything, they prefer some surprises. :)

I'm so excited about today although really tired! I've got £82.33 to play with (feel quite flush Wink) - that's my 'pocket money' and some birthday/Xmas money from my grandma (so I may use that to get something to wrap up for Xmas, not sure yet). I am also looking for a specific book for DD.

RobinEllacott · 06/12/2014 10:27

lilacclery, that's a great tip - I should have thought of it myself. I'll renew for six months and then the car tax will fall due in June, about the same time as the MOT and insurance, and we can get all the car stuff done in one go at a time of year when we haven't got masses of other expenses.

Have a great birthday, fuzzpig.

CremeEggThief · 06/12/2014 11:07

Happy birthday fuzz Smile

I was nominated for MN secret Santa and got the loveliest letter and gift, made my whole week I'm so so touched that someone thought to nominate me. I did nominate someone this year and meant to give to it but was too sick, hoping to be a secret Santa myself next year! MN has been such a lifesaver though my illness Flowers to you all Xmas Smile

CeeloWeevil · 06/12/2014 13:39

That's lovely, Miss A!

with regard to the car insurance and tax payments up thread that a couple of people were talking about, I save each month for these two bills and have a S/O to a linked savings account. (I do this for other annual insurances and expected bills). That way it's far less painful when the bill drops through the letter box!

574ejones · 06/12/2014 13:41

Happy birthday Fuzz!
Collie I really enjoyed Orphan Black and the original The Killings on Netflix.
So pleased for you MissA.
Bought our Christmas booze and a week's shopping for less than £100 which I am impressed with. Christmas tree £30.

Sixforgold · 06/12/2014 14:41

Happy birthday fuzz! Enjoy your guilt-free shopping!

That's so lovely missa - you deserve it :)

I'm inadvertantly having a frugal win as I'm at home in bed unwell. I should be at a Christmas market sipping mulled wine!

AdoraBell · 06/12/2014 15:00

Happy birthday Fuzz hope you have a fab day Wine Cake

I've spent £1.30 on fruit, apples, bananas and mandarins. We're at a hotel kinda in the sticks and I've brought bits to do lunches, so only dinners to pay for. DH left choice of wine to the waiter last night Xmas Hmm £15, ffs. At least here they keep your bottle for the next day if you don't finish it.

Passthecake30 · 06/12/2014 15:06

Quite spendy today but in fairness I've had all week as either LSD or NSD so it probably evened out.

£11 in Tesco but quite a few 2 for and 3 for on quorn and veggie stuff which will take care of a few meals. £8 in waitrose but again offers and picked up a recipe card which has given me a meal to do with some filo pastry I've had lurking in freezer for a good while - Morrocan filo pastry swirl and I got their free mag which again has some great ideas which I can generally do with some cheap shortcuts. £5 in Wilko for some repair stuff and kitchen towel. £1.54 in boots for two essentials bottles of nail polish remover.

Tomorrow is likely to be NSD as putting up decorations with DS and making sparkly pine cone decorations. Smile

We are now though very toasty due to new boiler and although it was lots of upheaval it is totally worth it!

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/12/2014 19:01

£6 on an ipad charger
£2 Guinness.

New boilers are a revelation. You should have a lower gas bill too. Don't let them estimate the next bill.

£8.48 on wine, chocolate and STs. All essentials!Wink

girliefriend · 06/12/2014 20:37

Nsd which is good. Went to a Romanian bbq - that was a first Grin good though and our tree is up. Got dd making some good old fashioned Christmas decorations this afternoon which look lovely, getting in the spirit of things now Smile

Still got a few people to buy for though, keeping next Thursday clear for Christmas shopping....

lilacclery · 06/12/2014 20:52

robin I did it gradually.

ceelo I started out moving the payment dates but last year saved & paid full years car tax and aimed for same this year but something else came up could pay 6 months, upped the ante on savings & will pay 12 months in April now but you've just made me realise I might be able to do car insurance annnuslly also. I've a special account for these expenses also

Happy birthday fuzz
congrats on nomination peonies

Today was more spendy than most Saturday's, we went visiting husbands grandchildren for one of their birthdays so lunch was from a deli counter €12 for 4 of us and a real treat. Filled tank with diesel using 10c off per litre voucher from Tesco so saved €4 on €54 spend.
Then realised I'd no cash for toll & had to spend over €5 to get cash back.
Lunch out tomo and €40 in aldi to use voucher, getting Turkey etc for Christmas
Going for crown as its just us and two kids this year.
That should be my spending done until next weekend again.

LucilleHendrix · 06/12/2014 21:26

£16.00 on pajamas and slippers, god I am rubbish this month, although my friend who is lovely brought me loads of lovely clothes today so maybe that's a frugal win, feeling pretty rubbish though, nevermind. I just hope after Christmas i can really pull it in because my wages will be low but the heating is constantly on.....
Well done everyone else though, will try harder :)

fuzzpig · 06/12/2014 22:48

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! Thanks It's been a lovely day what with the concert and everything - really nice family time as DH managed to get the day off (exceedingly rare). Tomorrow is my actual birthday (don't worry you don't need to say it again :o) but that'll mostly be at home, watching a movie (HTTYD2 - I love getting free rentals!), playing some board games and eating whatever treats I've ordered from tesco Blush - we might pop into town for a bit for some Xmas shopping (DCs haven chosen for each other yet) and milkshake or cake instead though.

6/12
£11.50 train (cheaper thanks to railcard and some vouchers DH got when he complained ages ago)
£1.90 bus
50p charity donation
£15 lunch (was massive but we had clubcard vouchers)
£11.75 snack at the station after concert
£1.90 bus home
£3.75 hotel chocolat (I got a refund on my snack above as it was rubbish so spent it there instead!)
£12 an amazing umbrella - extra birthday present as DH said I should chose something from the shop :o is it wrong that I'm kind of hoping it rains tomorrow Blush
£9.99 book for DD at Xmas - the specific one I was looking for :)

So didn't actually spend any of my allocated 'buy myself something' money after all that.
