Dh is pretty good I have to say. He's one of four boys and pil both worked full time so they had to do all their own washing etc. He can't (and won't learn to) cook though Hmm

lilacclery · 31/12/2014 13:54

Sometimes they'd just make you want to scream!

SpottyTeacakes · 31/12/2014 14:01

£40 dc photo shoot including nine photos on disc.

Something in tesco ummmm less than £10 I think Blush

I need petrol but haven't put any in this week.

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/12/2014 14:32

Collie do you use cashback sites? I waited until plusnet had a good deal before I switched.

£1 on avocados.

Everyone should muck in to keep a house clean and tidy.

£112 RAC renewal plus £49.87 cash back (not tracked yet eek!). Just phone the aa to tell them I'm not renewing and they didn't even try to offer me a better deal! I'm offended Wink

SpottyTeacakes · 31/12/2014 15:03

Has tracked now Grin

Welcome andsmile Smile

Oh MissA That's highly irritating. DH is quite like this. He has many good qualities, and is very practical but likely to do such a thing as well. I would invest in some jump leads, which are cheap enough, for further emergencies and keep them in the car.

We've spent about £20 today (DH has the £40 I gave him, so not exactly sure how much) Met some friends for a dog walk and a coffee and I needed some tights for NYE (not black opaques, which is all I seem to have!) That's it though, our spending has vastly reduced since Christmas.

I STILL need to switch mine collie, which is totally and utterly my own fault.

Laska42 · 31/12/2014 15:51

hi ive been lurking here for ages, but am signing up for january.. have finally paid off credit card and OD so want to keep it that way.. Am looking forward to a debt free 2015..

needastrongone · 31/12/2014 15:59

fluffy - yes, starting a new thread would be great!!

Laska - welcome.

lilacclery · 31/12/2014 16:10

Welcome laska and andsmile

I have discovered that having jump leads Is like an insurance policy since I got them I haven't once needed them!
Best 20 quid I ever spent. My bank balance is dwindling quickly too it's over €500 but electricity of €190 to come out plus I want to get implant removed €120 weekly dd for credit union loan payment ,€68 plus €30 for babysitting will eat it up fast will get paid next week again though & I'm sure there's not much food to buy either .

I enjoyed the week or so of being able to spend without checking bank balance first & my diesel tank is full so will be grand

bantamgirl · 31/12/2014 16:10

Afternoon all

Money in purse: £37.88 (was £39.10)
Money in bank: £280.56 (was £308.08)
Money in coin jar: £25 (was £28)
Available money reduced by: £28.74
Grand total remaining: £343.44
Days to pay day: 15

Spends since yesterday
£2.20 bus fare
£10.00 – DH cash withdrawal
£10.00 in a card for BIL's birthday
£7.52 in Morrisons yesterday on groceries.

However taking the above into account, I still seem to be 98p up....not sure how but better up than down...

Done a projection and am definitely going to overspend AGAIN this month as I didn't get a grip on my finances until 10 days in, but I will try for damage limitation this month.

FantaSea · 31/12/2014 16:15

Laska welcome Smile

fluffy so annoying for you - I have a DH like yours too.

£42 in Tesco.

needastrongone · 31/12/2014 16:23

Tea is pea and ham soup, using store cupboard ingredients and bargain ham from M&S, we are at our neighbours later and there will be nibbles.

Tomorrow will be cheesy pasta and broccoli bake, with bacon chucked in, to appease DH. I do have a supermarket delivery due Saturday, but that's mainly the sandwich type stuff for next week, milk and cheese etc, so not much.

Laska42 · 31/12/2014 16:27

thanks .. I did spend £58 in the co op today.. but used my new year £5 off voucher ( and the money came out of Dhs wallet .. so a result I think Wink ) we are still well stocked up from left overs and such like and bought veggies today so maybe except for milk one day) am hoping for NSDs now until Sunday when ill have to get some food in for next weeks lunches i think ..

I also bought 2 cardis in Toast sale this morning , but they were birthday/christmas money and budgeted for on YNAB .. one will probably go back though and No more Sales for me .. I have everything i need

Looking forward to getting to know you all as we go into a Frugal 2015.. ( I think i know some of you already from other threads though ..)

Thanks everyone you've made me feel much better Grin

NSD today, haven't left house as have been cleaning, tidying and decluttering, I'm superstitious about things being nice for the New Year. First coat is done on bathroom and second will be done tomorrow, it looks so much better already. the pile of black bags for the chazza is growing in the garage, I got rid of about half my remaining craft supplies today, including several half finished projects which I am sick of hanging over me.

We have friends coming over at 630, so just relaxing with a well earned wine and biscuits now

Have regained the stone I lost during my illness surprisingly quickly...wonder why Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/12/2014 17:29

Yes you just sign up. Do quidco and topcashback because tcb will price match if quidco offers more. I get about £500-600 a year off cashback sites.

I've cleaned everywhere MissA & done loads of washing. I even scrubbed the kitchen floor on my hands and knees.

£0 on bus ticket - the one I bought on Monday that didn't work suddenly appeared! I did buy another one for today before I realised, but I'm not counting it as I record it when I use it not when I buy it IYSWIM
£488.99 tumble dryer! :o
99p notebook - needed it for work... Then turned out I didn't, so I gave it to DD.

girliefriend · 31/12/2014 21:56

NSD although owed a friend £30 and gave that back today!!

So my new year so far has consisted of watching Indiana Jones and eating chocolate money with dd Grin we know how to live!!

Had a talk with my mum today about the London trip, she has kindly offered to help with the cost of the theatre tickets and found some accommodation in a Quacker Hotel!! We can't decide between seeing The Railway Children or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Happy New Year Frugaliers, I hope 2015 brings lots of good things to you all Smile

girliefriend · 31/12/2014 21:57

Quaker not Quacker Blush Grin
