NSD except for collection at church, which comes out of a different account so doesn't really count. Now need to finish baking Christmas cake.

Can we have a photo of the dress, six? Sounds a great bargain.

Weather here is absolutely appalling, and a fox has kindly dragged a bin-bag to the front of our house before shredding it and scattering the contents (we get this a lot as the front of our house isn't visible from the road, so the dratted foxes feel safe). I've just been out there, in the rain, collecting it all. If I ever find out who's leaving their bin bags for the foxes I will bag everything up and go and empty it on their door step, and keep doing it till they get the message.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/11/2014 17:27

£50 in h&m but taking back the £30 dress.
Sunday lunch paid for by mil.

Waste of petrol due to stupid road being flooded again and having to drive the long way round Angry

Sixforgold · 23/11/2014 18:25

It did feel like a good bargain - it was half price! It's quite 'Kate Middleton' lacy at the top with sleeves but very lightweight.

girliefriend · 23/11/2014 20:01

Christmas fair today which is always a pocket emptying exercise!

I bought a lovely hand knitted hat and scarf set for myself and one for my mum for Christmas, they were £10 each which I thought was quite good.

Loads of fairground rides so about £10 for dd to go on them.

Hot chocolate and doughnuts Blush £4.50

fuzzpig · 23/11/2014 20:14

Got to say I'm really pleased we can't do the Xmas fair this year as we have other plans.

Felt guilty not going to the fireworks (well I wouldn't go to that anyway as I struggle with the standing/dizziness, but DH has taken the DCs before) - less so when I found out that this year the fairground rides were £5 per person per ride! Shock

girliefriend · 23/11/2014 20:27

Anyone got any ideas of things to do with sausages?!

Other than hot dogs or toad in the hole.....

Shock at £5 a ride! Thats mad, these rides were £2 each apart from this trampoline thing where dd is strapped to a harness and it pings her high up into the air - that was £4 Shock I had said to dd that she could choose 3 things to go on and she was fine with that. Annoyingly since getting home have found out there were loads of free activities going on at the museum that I didn't know about!

Oh just remembered I also spent £21 in m&s but that was for a scale thingy that my mum had asked for and a nice toiletry set that was half price, I also had a 20% off voucher so in all saved about £12!!

SpottyTeacakes · 23/11/2014 20:38

Sausage casserole
Sausage with roast potatoes yorkshires and veg
Meatballs (take the skin off)
Sausages roasted with med veg
Sausage and pasta with sauce
Ummmm
Brinner

girliefriend · 23/11/2014 20:44

Brinner? Hmm Grin what on earth is that?!

With meatballs do you literally just squeeze the meat out of the sausage, roll it into balls and fry?

Might give that a go, we do a sausage roast from time to time. Sausage and pasta seems an odd combo to me but might try it!

SpottyTeacakes · 23/11/2014 21:04

Yes to the meatballs or oven.

Sausage with pasta is yum and not unusual Grin

Brinner is where you have breakfast for dinner aka a fry up Grin

lilacclery · 23/11/2014 21:04

needastrongone I put a little bit of chilli in the soup it was fantastic!

girliefriend · 23/11/2014 21:09

I have never heard that expression before but yes dinner for breakfast of course!! Grin

Thankyou very much for suggestions will give meatballs a try tomos...

Anyone else watching this scary programme on bbc1? I have got shivers all ready!!

lilacclery · 23/11/2014 21:17

Sausage goulash - peppers onion chunks of sausages & tinned tomatoes. Yummy.

Have stretched out our shopping by 3/4 days, thrilled. Hard to do shopping list & stay on budget because we need most things

AdoraBell · 23/11/2014 21:40

Oh brinner is lovely, bit like brunch but at the other end of the dayGrin

NSW here, will catch up properly later.

Sixforgold · 23/11/2014 21:59

Brinner = genius!! (It's a meal I've enjoyed many times before but always found it a concept difficult to explain to friends...but now it has a name!!) I'm hungry, I've got food on the brain, just meal planned for the week ahead so thought I'd share...

Mon - vegetable omelette and salad
Tue - turkey mince cottage pie (swede topping from Aldi super 6)
Wed - same as above
Thurs - JPs with tuna and salad
Fri - freezer fish, chips and peas
Sat - chunky veg soup (inc swede)
Sun - leaving free in case we eat out or swap things around

Any other ideas for swede?!

Signing back in after a weekend away with my dm and dd. it has been very spendy but lovely. On the plus side, most Xmas shopping is done now. On the down side, I need to be at my most frugal over the next few weeks (December, no chance !!)

MissA so glad you're recovering from the op

Spotty glad the wedding went well

I'm now realising that I need to get started on Christmas shopping but with every day working and weekends packed of the brim, I'm not entirely sure how. Previous years I guess we were either not that busy at work, or I had time to go shopping on the weekend...

Help! Any suggestions of websites? Or things to get pils for a start?

SpottyTeacakes · 24/11/2014 07:56

Amazon is your best friend!

Mojito100 · 24/11/2014 12:46

I haven't been here for a week or so but have been tracking my spending. I have been a little overspent but also managing all in all. Still having a few NSDs and most Christmas shopping is done. Feeling ok but would be good to tighten belt for the few weeks up to Christmas.

SpottyTeacakes · 24/11/2014 13:01

Fuck fuck fuck. I left the chicken out to cool and I've just found a fly in the kitchen. I'm going to have to chuck it aren't i?

sportinguista · 24/11/2014 13:04

LSD so far"

60p newspaper but with free ladybird book for DS
50p on Christmas stuff for DS (cost £12 but 11.50 worth tokens)
50p on Home stuff (cost £8 but £7.50 in tokens)
£2.50 on bread and 8 cokes in tesco and will need to get some quorn ham for DH sandwiches later so about £1.50.

I have £36.50 of Boots points so I should be able to get 2 toys from there for that and do the 3 for 2, so get 3 presents there.

Doing quite well with the free stuff at Christmas this year.

Need for the rest of the week to be NSDs though!

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 24/11/2014 13:08

I haven't even started my Christmas shopping apart from DM whose gift I got on sale earlier this year. Shock I have a lot to do when I get out of here!
I've been pining over not being able to go round christmas markets/ shopping in the cold/ seasonal treats snd DH brought me a (soya) almond and honey hot chocolate to hospital last night, it was so nice.

Am eating today, drip has been disconnected although the hideous neck port thing with all the drip attachments is still in in case I need to be reattached.

Really hoping if the eating goes well I can go home mid week, I'm only on oral meds now and I can't see any reason they'd keep me.

It's not that's want to rush the process,I just think I'll genuinely feel better at home.
Ok off to online shop for gifts!

NK, amazon, gift vouchers (picked up from supermarkets) and a couple of bottles of wine are my go to ideas.

spotty a fly? I thought they'd all gone for the year. Shred the chicken and heat to piping hot in a curry/ fahitas? How long has the chicken been out? I leave meat to cool and don't cover unless it's summer tbh, so I guess I've eater lots of fly poo in the past lol

Can't stop spending. Gap sent me an online voucher for 30% off so I've ordered lots! prob all will go back. Also ordered new swimming costumes to try on as mine is transparent and you can see my boobs right through Shock......now I know why the lifeguard smiles at me ha ha.

Oh and also ordered new curtains for ds as his ones are very babyish and he is 6.5..... Getting a bit old for a jungle scene?? Have ordered two pairs of ready made from dulemn mill and will ask mil to sew them together (huge windows)

£60 ish on asda delivery, and have put a couple of bits on ebay to scrape a couple of quid the other way....
