Hello All,
I've taken the liberty (again!) of starting our new thread for August. The merrily sort of ties in with Christmas and keeping an eye on any bargains out there, if you're super organised and like planning ahead.

Today's spends were £5.10 on travel, £1.20 on 2 bottles of water, £4.20 on 2 hot chocolates and £17.25 on a meal out (long story!).

Hope everything goes ok Miss A

CremeEggThief · 13/08/2014 20:54

I hope you hear from the ward manager tomorrow, MissA. Sounds as if they're finally getting to the bottom of your pain though Thanks.

£2.67 in Lidl and £51.20 on online Tesco shop, to cover from Friday for a week. Should only need milk and salad extra.

What's with this new layout? Where's the bookmark button? Confused

Thanks all Smile Cake I had a terrible night last night with pain, so just waiting until about 11 to ring the ward manager and ask if there's any chance of expediting surgery or even just being admitted as my pain relief here just isn't working. DH was distracted trying to look after me and now looks like a creature from the black lagoon

On another note, I am Angry Angry Angry - my wastrel of a brother in law came to stay invited himself and got a new tattoo just before he arrived, then didn't cover it while sleeping and covered all our guest bedding in tattoo ink, as well as two pillows which DH gave him as extra without covers actually on them. but with the covers to put on if he used them, and he used them without the covers and stained the actual pillows!!!!!
We washed the pillows but they've taken 5 days to dry and stink and the bedlinen is ruined. I just don't have the money to replace all this stuff Sad

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/08/2014 17:29

£5 cat litter
£1 bread.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/08/2014 17:42

Nsd.

Any news MissA?

Hope your dd got on ok fanta

FantaSea · 14/08/2014 18:06

lilac and spotty thank you very much Cake

MissAnn really hope you have had some luck getting admitted and that you have been able to have some proper pain relief Flowers

Proud mum alert - DD passed all 4 of her A levels and I am so proud of her. She has had a really tough two years and found it all so hard. She had to do a lot of resits from last year as well as all of this year's exams and we had a lot of tears during the exam season. I have been worried silly but have done my best to not show it in front of her! We had to go to school to collect the paper copy and went to the big Tesco for old time's sake and I spent £21 on some nice bits to make her a special tea tonight Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/08/2014 18:26

Phew that's a relief. It's such a horrible time for them.

lilacclery · 14/08/2014 18:38

Fantastic well done to junior fantasea worry over

Makingchanges · 14/08/2014 18:39

Wow Well done Fantaseas daughter. Sounds like the hard work paid off.

Hope you get some good news MIssA can't you make BIL pay for the bedding after all, he ruined it.

Have been in to school to use their ink and photocopying instead of mine and stopped off for some cheap steak from Asda on way back and ended up spending £31 - however most of it will last us into next week so will save me a big shop at the weekend.

Also chased up a book I ordered 3 weeks ago online which hasn't arrived so am £20 out of pocket.

Lend DH my car last night to check a low tyre - used it today and have a bent towbar (which I'm not too worried about as unlikely to tow now using it) and the central locking is broken on drivers door. Can still get in using key but it sets the alarm off every time - which is annoying. Asked DH to ask his mechanic friend so take a look but looks like it could cost about £200 to get fixed. Shock which is most of the money I was saving for the car tax in November.

FantaSea · 14/08/2014 18:39

Fluffy and lilac thank you both very much Cake

Lacuna · 14/08/2014 19:13

Oh bloody hell, really need a kick up the arse!

The 'no new clothes' rule has been broken already. In my 'defence' they are all from tkmaxx...and properly useful rather than frivolous but...not the point!

Anyway, the damage was one Paul Costelloe pure wool cardigan/coat thing which will, honestly, be used and used and used, and one Kew dark green merino sweater with buttons down the back, absolutely lovely, and one Esprit blue cord miniskirt that will be super-useful for autumn/winter Blush

Add to that a new dustpan and brush and a box of Prestat chocs...£80, ouch!

However I did manage to persuade dp out of getting a takeaway tonight so I think I've redeemed myself slightly! Very slightly!

Well done to MiniFanta, that's a fantastic achievement.

Need to catch up later, been spending too much lately, art materials, birthday presents (end of the month) and money squandered on bloody snack food that I don't want DDs eating for schoolAngry and general groceries. About £200 since last weekendHmm plus a fiver today on coffee and cake with a friend.

CremeEggThief · 14/08/2014 23:51

Excellent results, FantaSea's DD Wine :).
I had a lovely day out today. I took £20 I don't have and went to a lovely, rather posh town I've wanted to visit for a few months. I had lunch in a naice deli, bought a dress for £25 in the Fatface sale (credit card!), bought some vanilla chai tea in the fanciest Oxfam I've ever been in and had a wonderful ice-cream to round off the afternoon. I really needed today, as I was getting a bit down, staying home and watching every penny.

I hope we get an update from MissA soon. Thinking of her tonight.

Hello, been missing for a few days as busy at work pre holiday. Wednesday was NSD, Thursday was £3 on lunch.

Tonight I have a meeting in a pub about DS's next show (after Joseph the first week in September) so will at least need to buy a drink. The good news is I don't have to drive there - one of the other mum's didn't know where the pub is as they don't live locally. I offered to meet her at mine and she said she'd drive.

Unfortunately, this isn't going to help get the holiday ironing done!

Tomorrow I need to buy the older two new school jumpers for September.

Get well soon MissA

Well done Fantaseas daughter on your A Level results.

needastrongone · 15/08/2014 08:04

Well done on the A Level results!

Hoping you feel some pain relief soon MissA.

NSD yesterday as was at a Pony Club rally with DD (although it was £15 for the rally, which I paid for ages ago, plus diesel to get there I guess).

Actually - thinking about it, I did buy a bacon and egg sarnie and a coke!! Most unlike me (I am usually pretty healthy) but I was shattered and it was a long day! £3.50

Ordered wine from M&S, 12 bottles for £60 as two boxes had 25% discount. Also used extra points vouchers so an extra £2 points added to card.

Off to work now! Smile

574ejones · 15/08/2014 08:07

Spent £40 on three new tops for me (can't remember the last time I bought myself clothes), and £8 on some herb plants but must now try to have some NSDs! Congrats Fantasea's daughter and good luck to MissA for today.
