Hello All,
I've taken the liberty (again!) of starting our new thread for August. The merrily sort of ties in with Christmas and keeping an eye on any bargains out there, if you're super organised and like planning ahead.

Today's spends were £5.10 on travel, £1.20 on 2 bottles of water, £4.20 on 2 hot chocolates and £17.25 on a meal out (long story!).

Supermum we're travelling quite far north to go but not that far!!

FantaSea · 13/08/2014 09:22

We have a very tense day ahead of us today as DD gets her A level results tomorrow, she is very worried and found A levels really hard. I have hardly slept all week and am at the point where I just want to know now, then we can deal with whatever they are. I am hoping to keep her mind off things today and also hoping for a NSD.

Thelongdarkteatime · 13/08/2014 10:08

£4.10 yesterday on fruit for ds, but other than that a nsd. I never have any luck with irons, so only ever buy the cheapest ones. That might be why I never have any luck with irons! Good luck for your dd tomorrow fantasea

misstiredbuthappy · 13/08/2014 10:40

Good luck fantasea

CremeEggThief · 13/08/2014 11:53

Thelongdarkteatime, misstired and CremeEgg thank you all very much Cake I am trying to kill time by sharing my madness with the other mums on the secondary boards waiting for results, when I should be getting on with some housework!

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 13/08/2014 12:22

Good luck fantasea and DD! Grin Flowers

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 13/08/2014 12:23

£8.60 on prescription for new pain meds. Consultant appt at 2.15 and need to be super firm about what I need to happen - no more brushing me aside!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/08/2014 16:16

Fanta I really hope it goes well. It's a horrible time for them all & the parents.

MissA Did you get what you wanted from the hospital?.

£10 on a reed diffuser.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 13/08/2014 16:29

fluffy thanks Smile a bit more than I bargained for, actually, he is ringing me back at 6pm to confirm his decision (after consulting his colleague who is actually on call today and tomorrow) that I need to be admitted tonight or tomorrow for laparocopic investigation of my appendix site and bowel and very likely surgery to remove a stump of my appendix which he thinks the last surgeon left in there! Shock

SpottyTeacakes · 13/08/2014 16:36

Oh goodness MissA! As long as it makes you feel better in the long run it'll all be worth it.

Spendy day Sad

£7.98 on four lightbulbs
68p envelope and second class stamp
£12.30 on lunch (treated me and dc)
£10.20 on ingredients for a cake Shock

FantaSea · 13/08/2014 16:43

DD and I have been into town to try and distract ourselves, I bought her a lovely pair of skinny jeans for £7 in the sale that she can wear when she goes into school tomorrow Smile

Sixforgold · 13/08/2014 16:46

MissA hope it all turns out well and fewer bouts of illness as a result xx

Good luck for you dd fanta

We're on our way back from our holiday now. £247 spent in total - all petrol, food, treats, days out etc for a week. Quite pleased with that as we certainly didn't watch every penny but we were careful with things like making packed lunches etc.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/08/2014 16:54

Just smashed one of said lightbulbs ffs.

Fanta you sound like a really lovely mum Smile

FantaSea · 13/08/2014 16:57

Six and Spotty thank you very much Cake

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/08/2014 17:39

Take the lightbulb back and say it was smashed when you got it back home.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/08/2014 17:41

I was thinking about it fluffy but it's a really small shop and was the only thing I bought Blush

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/08/2014 17:52

Yeah it's different if its a small business.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 13/08/2014 18:23

argh 6.24 and no sign of call from consultant. I'll be devastated if he doesn't call back, this has been going on since April and I was so close to resolution today Sad

FantaSea · 13/08/2014 18:27

MissAnn really hoping that call comes in soon for you and that you can get it all sorted out. Being in pain for a long time is just awful Flowers

SpottyTeacakes · 13/08/2014 18:36

MissA you'll never get a call when they say. They're sooooo busy try not to stress about it fingers crossed they'll call shortly

misstiredbuthappy · 13/08/2014 18:48

£2 on a energy drink, I know I know there bad for you but im shatterd I havent been sleeping and I needed to be wide awake for a meeting in work Hmm

£6 in a new fruit and veg shop thats just opened near work.

£1 on some lush cookies !

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 13/08/2014 19:46

Ok am apparently being admitted on Friday morning with op either on Friday afternoon or Saturday, although I feel it's all still a bit up in the air as surgeon/consultant who phoned had no clue on practicalities like bed/ward/specific times and said his bed manager would phone me to confirm that, until I have heard from her I can't quite believe this is actually happening!

Supermum222 · 13/08/2014 20:47

£18 in Sainsbury's café for lunch for myself, my mum and the 2 kids. £22 on 2 pairs of jogging trousers and t-shirt for DS10 and a small cuddly dog toy for DD6.
Away in Scotland for a few days starting tmrw. Back at work next Tuesday so spending should decrease Smile.

Supermum222 · 13/08/2014 20:48

Good luck to your daughter tomorrow Fantasea! I can still remember getting my A-level results in 1992! Oh I feel old.
