If you didn't get the jab, would you consider having it now?

You'd better be quick if you're healthy and under 50...

"The Telegraph understands the Government is also preparing to wind down the open offer of the first two doses over the coming months. The move will mean unvaccinated healthy under-50s will soon not be able to get a Covid jab unless one is recommended by a medical professional."

@sunglassesonthetable
Do you watch MSNBC? I don't. Not sure what you're getting at?

what i'm getting at is directly answering your question... where we we ever told that the virus stops with the vaccinated.

sunglassesonthetable · 09/03/2023 07:02

And you put up a quote from an American TV show?

That's a bit lame.

sunglassesonthetable · 09/03/2023 07:06

Apart from the fact that science and our knowledge evolves all the time - knowledge of the Coronavirus has adapted so much in the last few years - you sound as if you think there were some conspiracy at work.

peppathe3rd · 09/03/2023 07:09

@sunglassesonthetable
it's a news program - on a dedicated news channel where a large number of people get their news. why can't you refrain from commenting when you have no idea what you are commenting on? have you ever heard the phrase, "empty vessels make the most noise?"

sunglassesonthetable · 09/03/2023 07:10

And actually you missed the point of the question from me at least ...

where were we told that people who didn't take the vax were dis informed, thick , lazy, paranoid etc

That part.

sunglassesonthetable · 09/03/2023 07:12

We can all see it's a news program.

But googling a random news program in the US means jack.

And you've made LOTS of noise on here. How many posts already this morning.

sunglassesonthetable · 09/03/2023 07:14

Are you trying to run the thread again?

"refrain from commenting " 😂

peppathe3rd · 09/03/2023 07:19

@sunglassesonthetable

*That is what happens when we are told that the virus stops with the vaccinated, that people who do not get the vaccine are far right, disinformed, thick, paranoid..... and if that doesn't work they may be unemployed too.

Where were we told this? 😬*

the first part of your quote is addressed by the news anchor, the other by biden's speech (aside from the word thick).

sunglassesonthetable · 09/03/2023 07:27

Well I don't think you have answered the question tbh.

A random US TV show and refs to the unvaccinated in Biden speech.
Sorry you'll have to get back to scouring google .

peppathe3rd · 09/03/2023 07:29

@sunglassesonthetable

But googling a random news program in the US means jack.

again with your ignorant comments. this is exactly what i am referring to. you presume that i just googled a random news program but you're wrong again.
i remember when rachel maddow made these remarks. i did not want to be a part of the problem. i did not want to be responsible for passing the illness on. i was extremely worried and upset that my unvaccinated status could jeopardise others. so, that's why i knew this sentiment had been expressed and why i posted it.

sunglassesonthetable · 09/03/2023 07:31

I took my vaccine advice from NHS sources.
It seemed appropriate.

And social media was full of abuse for both sides of the argument.

peppathe3rd · 09/03/2023 07:32

@sunglassesonthetable
did you read biden's speech or is that empty vessel just rattling?

sunglassesonthetable · 09/03/2023 07:33

Could you consider for moment stopping being so condescending?

sunglassesonthetable · 09/03/2023 07:33

one moment

sunglassesonthetable · 09/03/2023 07:34

Do you always speak to people like that?

sunglassesonthetable · 09/03/2023 07:36

Ignorant indeed.

sunglassesonthetable · 09/03/2023 07:45

I suppose the crux is the ' we were told'

All sorts of things were said during the pandemic.

Not quite the same.

sunglassesonthetable · 09/03/2023 08:02

Are you in the US?

nojudgementhere · 09/03/2023 08:06

Unvaccinated people were treated horribly during Covid and it's seems disingenous to pretend it never happened. Here's a quick quote from a Daily Mail article at the time titled 'It's Time To Punish The Unvaccinated'

'There are still 5 million unvaccinated British adults, who through fear, ignorance, irresponsibility or sheer stupidity refuse to be jabbed. In doing so they endanger not just themselves but the rest of us.'

There were endless amount of articles/TV programmes like this at the time and unfortunately it spilt over into real life with people feeling empowered to judge others and treat them as somehow less than human. The way they created sides was pretty disgusting to be honest and not something I'll forget easily.

That's vile. Trust The Fail.

nojudgementhere · 09/03/2023 08:23

Yeah I know - it is pretty vile! Unfortunately lots of that around at the time though - I remember the Jeremy Vine show in particular seemed to delight in stoking up the flames of division as did The Guardian and the famously 'impartial' BBC. Much, much worse in countries like Austria though. There was a time there when unvaccinated people could work in cafes/restaurants but couldn't go in them as customers which highlighted how little it was about infection control and how much about punishing the non-compliant. It was a strange and worrying time.

peppathe3rd · 09/03/2023 08:34

no

loulouljh · 09/03/2023 09:21

Unvaccinated people were treated horribly. I agree entirely. Awful way to treat people who make a legitimate decision. There are alot of people I view very differently now. Some people who were friends who I will never be friends with again. I am still very very glad of my decision to remain unvaxxed.

The unvaccinated are victims now? They were treated as less than human? I can think of a category that was treated that way - the elderly and vulnerable. Certainly on here, their lives were considered disposable in favour of "the healthy getting on with life". Being unvaccinated is a condition you can choose. Elderly, ill and/disabled - you can't choose that life.

Agree.
