If you could go back in time, would you still get the jab?

If you could go back in time, would you still get the Covid jab?

I don’t really care if you’re vaccinated or not, but I’m interested if people would go back and change their decision?

Which is why I’ve given you the labels I have, which are hardly abusive. I’ve just described you, from my perception, just as you’ve done to me. I don’t feel abused despite your nasty attempts luckily. m

Fantastic. But I feel very abused by you.

@TheLittlePinkFlamingo

All I’m getting from your posts (after I’ve tried to make sense of the poor grammar) - is something to do with scarecrows and Reliant Robins??

You end a sentence with a full stop by the way. So ‘room to spare’ needs a full stop at the end.

Love it when people still use the ‘lol’. I thought it was considered a bit naff and out of date. But judging by your Covid musings, you have got your head stuck down a rabbit hole from 2 years ago.

@TheLittlePinkFlamingo

Your spacing is incorrect. You don’t need a space prior to the word “naff”. You’ve missed the capital on Covid again.

This is heaps of fun, but I’ll leave you to it now. I’ve got better things to do.

@TheLittlePinkFlamingo

Out of curiosity, what is your definition of 'plagiarism'?

sunglassesonthetable · 05/02/2023 10:08

My husband is a virologist and finds your posts hysterical... what are you qualifications BTW as you are barely literate, unable to stick to any point without digressing to more nonsense possessing a medical knowledge that could fit onto the back of a postage stamp with room to spare

If you needed actual 'qualifications' to post on MN these boards would be empty. Let's face it.

Xenia · 05/02/2023 10:40

The gap issue between infection and vacine or between vaccinations and next dose etc is always interesting. In the early days the question was how frequently should be a booster and Minky's useful link does follow what I would have expected - that it is not always as straight forward as have all your vaccinations and boosters and infections as close together as possible. Sometimes a gap helps with immunity - that certainly makes sense to me. I think we probably all agree that those who had a vaccination or covid itself in 2021 might be in the same category now as to still protected by (or more likely very little protection if any) having had covid or a vaccination 2 years ago.

sunglassesonthetable · 05/02/2023 10:41

The 'Covid' boards have been populated with posters without a sniff of a medical qualification raging at current NHS or WHO guidance with the mantra " do your own research ". This always seems to have been accepted as a reasonable substitute for a medical / scientific training or education and access to labs and research programmes and everything that goes with that.

Congrats on having a husband who's a virologist Flamingo and I suppose that gives you a sort of qualification by default. Is that what you're saying?

In general my "qualification by default' is to go with national guidelines if it follows the general consensus in medical thinking reached by virologists/scientists/researchers/medics. I know what I don't know. And I know a little knowledge is dangerous.

To be fair that is in short supply on these boards.

@AlisonInClover don’t start with the verbal abuse. You will get into trouble.

Mumsnet quite rightly deletes and bans anti vaxxers. Take a look at earlier posts if you don't believe me which were reported. I'm sorry but I can't take the view of an anti vaxxer seriously.

Mumsnet shouldn't be banning 'anti vaxxers' and I doubt they are. EVERYONE is entitled to their own views on vaccines amongst other things and should be allowed to share their views with other people- just as they would if they happened to be talking to someone at the park/shop/a group etc etc.
Just because someone has different views on things to others shouldn't mean they're not allowed to share those views with others. This is an online forum where people share their views on a wide range of things-some may be different to the views of others and some may consider their views as 'wrong/unsafe/inaccurate' but they're still the views of the individual.

You can doubt all you like, scroll back in the thread. Fieldsofroses and the pinkflamingo are gone and good riddance. Mumsnet has a duty to ensure there is no misinformation.

Horrible to see someone proud that they have bullied and had someone with a different opinion to them banned, have their post reported and removed because they didn't like them etc.
Sad world where anyone can think censorship and removal of voices is something to be celebrated.
Hope that one day you can look back on this and see that it's pretty nasty stuff.

Who was "bullied" exactly? And "banned" ?

AlisonInClover · 05/02/2023 17:37

When all posts of someone are removed, it means they are banned. All content of them is removed. As their posts were anti vax, it is a good thing as it may frighten others to take the vaccine. Public forums must not have misinformation.

sunglassesonthetable · 05/02/2023 17:40

Didn't realise that.

They were talking bollox though.

HelpfulMonkey · 05/02/2023 17:44

One must be careful using terms like 'misinformation' blindly and in blanket ways. Just because you don't agree with something it is not 'misinformation' especially. There are many reports, data and research coming out in this area, it's a fluid topic , not as simple as vaccine is amazing everyone who says it's not is a flat earther which seems to be the way those who don;t want to deal with reality choose to deal with this topic unfortunately.
Recent times have seen a real abuse of language in these areas and it's not helpful for rational discourse.
Fingers crossed that the nasty playground bully kind of vibe which comes across on these threads will slowly be replaced with people being able to think and communicate clearly and openly again without so much vitriol and spite.

MinkyGreen · 05/02/2023 17:53

I think Mumsnet are taking the stance on what constitutes health misinformation and deleting accordingly.

Misinformation is an online harm, so if you are stating things about the vaccine that have no robust evidence - or are contrary to global guidelines - than that is unsafe and cause anxiety in others.
