Anyone else considering not having this booster?

So 4th? one.

Just wondering really as I’m not sure how I feel about it. It seems like a lot to be pumping into my body in a short space of time.
I had Covid booster plus flu jab last year. DH didn’t have flu jab or a booster last time.
DS has never had any

No. I've already had mine. The risks from covid & flu far outway any concern about the number of vaccines in my body.

crossstitchingnana · 31/10/2022 07:18

I am. I had Covid earlier in the year and it floored me for weeks. Don't want to go through that again

Had my flu one Friday and had upset tummy since, still worth it IMO, better than weeks off work.

KangarooKenny · 31/10/2022 07:20

No I’m not.
I don’t want another vaccine that doesn’t seem to last very long, and I recently had covid, so hoping natural immunity from that will get me through winter.

User98866 · 31/10/2022 07:21

I don’t know if they are even going to offer it to under 50s but won’t be having another. I’ve had a flu jab this year. Everyone I know whose had the 4 th covid jab has been really poorly, worse than when they had covid. Lots of younger people I know are not having it. Not anti vaccination but just don’t feel they need it having already had covid mildly so many times.

ErrolTheDragon · 31/10/2022 07:22

Nope, DH and I have had our boosters (covid, then flu a week or so later) . Glad we did, our young adult DD and her BF (who aren't eligible for theirs yet) caught CV last week. They're too bad but I'd rather have a jab for sure.

KangarooKenny · 31/10/2022 07:22

The walk in centres in my city are closing by the 31st December, and it’s then going into GP surgeries and chemists, so it’s seems that the powers that be see less demand after that.

User98866 · 31/10/2022 07:22

Should add I had covid mildly pre vaccination, and presume I must have had it at least another time since then without knowing.

Oblomov22 · 31/10/2022 07:24

No. I had flu jab and booster as soon as I was eligible.

FourChimneys · 31/10/2022 07:26

Yes, absolutely. I've recently had my fifth Covid jab, plus flu. I'm immunosuppressed so wouldn't consider not having it, plus it would go against the advice of my amazing consultant.

One day of feeling slightly bleurgh then back to normal.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 31/10/2022 07:28

I haven’t had any vaccination for Covid. Never had it , either. Dh had his three, with increasing unpleasantness ( sore arm, fatigue, upset stomach, etc) ,,he hasn’t had Covid either. He’s not having a booster.

Two of my friends are fully vaccinated, they’ve had Covid three times now, and it seems to have been worse each time. Another set are fully vaccinated, they’ve just got it again, ( she thinks they ‘ got it when they went to be vaccinated).

fully vaccinated as a child btw, and would vaccinate children against all the usual things. Covid…..

Allmyaarrgghandpeggymartin · 31/10/2022 07:28

I’ve had a flu and a covid jab, why wouldn’t you if it was offered. Just part of keeping healthy like taking a vitamin and getting five a day

Hoppinggreen · 31/10/2022 07:29

I had mine last week, felt a bit rough but it’s better than Covid.
I see no good reason not to have it ( unless medically advised against)

SkylightSkylight · 31/10/2022 07:30

I had both the Covid Booster & the flu jab at the beginning of Oct.

if I got Covid, there'd be a hell of a lot more going into my body than a few ml of vaccine,

Indoctro · 31/10/2022 07:30

I'm not getting any more covid vaccines.

I actually wish I hadn't had any.

Stormchaser1502 · 31/10/2022 07:30

Had 4th Covid jab and flu jab. Felt really exhausted after the Covid jab but otherwise fine. Would much rather feel that and know I’m ok deep down, than the fear of flu or Covid over the winter

Zero19 · 31/10/2022 07:30

I’m in the vulnerable category but I still have only had the first 2 vaccines .

I dont have the flu jab either anymore because the years I have had the jab I’ve felt worse than years I haven’t . I’m rarely ill.

I will take my chances .

megletthesecond · 31/10/2022 07:31

I had the booster last week. It's just the same as getting a flu jab (which I always pay for). No side effects from any jabs.
As Allmy said, it's part of keeping well. Pre-winter maintenance.

Ostryga · 31/10/2022 07:32

No, mainly because I’ve only had one jab and never had covid. I meant to get the full set but I have ADHD and it all got away from me!

Whatwouldscullydo · 31/10/2022 07:33

I had one which literally burned as it went in which I've never had with any other injection /vaccination/medication ever before. So I've had none since as it seemed yet another thing that as I get older I seem to start reacting too. Plus the first one triggered peri symptoms so.i wasn't risking any more

And I'm unaware of any other vaccine protocol that requires so many in.such a short space of time that there's any information regarding the effects to be able to make an informed decision.

smileandsing · 31/10/2022 07:33

I'm immunosuppressed and had had 5 Covid vaccinations before contracting it for the first time a couple if months ago. I was floored for a week and recovering for several more. I can't imagine how bad it would have been if I hadn't been vaccinated, or skipped one or two jabs. I have just had a 6th jab and the flu vaccination, I'm not taking any chances.
It's up to you, but it's a gamble with your health, and I think if you have others who rely on you it isn't worth risking it

MeetPi · 31/10/2022 07:34

@DarkNecessities

Just what do you think is being pumped into your body?

You encounter more toxins by walking in any big city and simply breathing the air.

lannistunut · 31/10/2022 07:36

The risks from COVID are far greater to those offered the booster.

Quiltofmanycolours · 31/10/2022 07:37

Both DH and I had our booster last week.
I had covid in the first wave and it took months to fully recover.
This jab was the only one I didn’t feel grim with afterwards.
We had our flu jabs the week before and zero side effects.
I didn’t want both jabs at the same time.

FishFingerSandwiches4Tea · 31/10/2022 07:41

Nope. Only had one dose and had covid twice. It was fine. Have had flu jab though.

LovelyBitOfSquirrel69 · 31/10/2022 07:41

Nope I'm not having it, fed up of feeling like crap afterwards and you no longer need it for travel.
