If you caught it off a person in your household how long did it take to show a positive test?

Our DD came home from school on Thursday unwell with a high temperature and tested positive. Me and DH have been testing daily as he has to for work and household members. So far - touch wood - we have been negative so every day that passes we are hopeful we won’t catch it.

If someone in your household had it and others caught it how long did it take?

7 days, thought I'd escaped!

Confirmed case in the house Thursday both DH and I tested positive Sunday (I got a very faint positive late Saturday night but strong positive on Sunday morning)

HelloChompy · 23/03/2022 08:42

My husband felt awful on the Saturday, LFT was negative, he tested positive on the Sunday. I tested every day, Thursday evening I developed a scratchy throat, LFT that morning had been negative. Friday I had a positive LFT.

Same here again op so dh last Thursday. I've been up all night with a bad head, scratchy throat and feeling of a head cold. Still negative lft.
I did test positive covid April 2020 and had very different symptoms so hard to tell. I'll test again tomorrow

So it’s three for three now! DD last Thursday, DH yesterday and me today, so about a week for us all to test positive.

DH tested positive Monday night. I was negative Tuesday morning. Positive Tuesday night. Blaring positive this morning and feeling dreadful

Cotswoldmama · 23/03/2022 16:29

My son who was asymptomatic tested positive on the Sunday , my other son started coughing lateral flow was negative but PCR said positive. I tested positive on the Wednesday and then my husband on the Friday.

1 day. I'm triple vaxxed. DH and DD never caught it at all.

Thewindwhispers · 23/03/2022 18:53

I never got a positive LFT but I had a positive PCR on day 6. If I hadn’t had the PCR I’d never have been sure I was ill (was just tired and achy).

changenametimeagain · 23/03/2022 18:57

Looked after our 3yo so very close contact, lots of kisses cuddles and a few face sneezes and didn't catch it at all. Confirmed by PCR.

Malteser71 · 23/03/2022 19:02

61 hours between my husband testing positive on LFT with sudden symptoms and me testing positive on a PCR.

I was still negative on LFT at the time the PCR was taken.

Another 24 hours before I had symptoms. So his symptoms began Monday night around 5pm. mine began Friday morning 9am

WannabeGilmoreGirl · 23/03/2022 19:04

DD2 caught it early January no one else caught it. DD1 caught it at the end of February again no one else caught it. DH and I have escaped it twice both triple jabbed.

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 23/03/2022 19:09

Me (triple vaxxed) was the first positive last Tuesday, the we had 1 positive Friday, 1 Monday and 2 on Tuesday. Only one person who is negative in the house, not even a hint of a sniffle.

All of us who tested positive had a cold for about a week, but headaches and dizziness started about a week after and that's when tests were positive. My watch alerted me of a heat rate of 150bpm whilst sitting for 10 minutes on the day I tested.

Livefortherain · 23/03/2022 19:11

DD tested positive on a Saturday night.
Me and DS on the Tuesday morning.
DH on the Thursday.

Youhaveyourhandsfull · 23/03/2022 19:14

In our house I got after two days, then a couple of family members followed a few days later. A couple didn’t get it at all.
Just varies I guess!

AgentCarterRocks · 24/03/2022 08:04

Daughter was first, tested positive on the Tuesday evening. Husband the following evening. Me, not till Friday evening.

Benjaminsniddlegrass · 24/03/2022 08:05

My DH was over a week after me & DD had it, just when he thought he was in the clear!

minmooch · 06/04/2022 07:06

Dp tested positive Sunday evening. He had had cold symptoms for a couple of days. I have had negative lfts with symptoms (sinus like headache for most of the day, sore throat). Tested positive this morning (Wednesday) so 3 days after dp 's positive.

Remmy123 · 06/04/2022 09:15

I've had x3 positive people in my household and I never got it. Child kissing me on lips etc ... husband using my mouth wash whilst positive! Double vax, no booster.

Unicornetto · 06/04/2022 09:36

My son was the 1st to come down with it in our house. On day 3 My partner and eldest daughter tested positive, on day 8 my youngest daughter and then me on day 14. Feels never ending!

Allywill · 06/04/2022 10:25
