If you caught it off a person in your household how long did it take to show a positive test?

Our DD came home from school on Thursday unwell with a high temperature and tested positive. Me and DH have been testing daily as he has to for work and household members. So far - touch wood - we have been negative so every day that passes we are hopeful we won’t catch it.

If someone in your household had it and others caught it how long did it take?

About a week, so just as we were hoping we had escaped Sad

MaryQueenOfSwots · 22/03/2022 09:53

One DC in our household had it and the rest of us never caught it at the time. Myself and DH triple vaccinated. So you may not get it.

2 days

Frosty1000 · 22/03/2022 09:55

DS symptoms Thursday night, positive Friday. Me symptoms Saturday night and positive Sunday. Hubby symptoms the following Friday and positive that evening.

So 2 days and then 5 days.

8 days... DD showed symptoms on a Saturday, we thought we'd got away withnit but DH showed symptoms a week later on the Sunday.

At the kids school it seems to take a month to go round families, one at a time taking a week for the next family member to test positive...

Yourinmyspot · 22/03/2022 10:22

So quite a mix. Me and DH are triple jabbed. Fingers crossed we don’t get it just as DD is free again.

DH caught it 2 days after DS, I held on for 8 days. DS is now back at school so at least I get to stay in bed alone!

Santaslittlemelter · 22/03/2022 10:59

2 days!

PaintedDress · 22/03/2022 11:00

Six days. Son tested positive on Saturday. Daughter on Sunday. Me on Friday the week after. DP didn’t get it at all!

Jules912 · 22/03/2022 11:00

First time in January none of us caught it off DD.
This time DS got symptoms on the Wednesday, DH tested positive on the Saturday and me Sunday (though had symptoms from Saturday afternoon)

MirandaWest · 22/03/2022 11:01

DS tested positive on 25th February. I tested positive on 1st March, DH tested positive on 3rd March.

And DD managed not to get it.

AlwaysLatte · 22/03/2022 11:01

I've got it at the moment, on day 4. Everyone else testing daily and so far negative. I've moved into the spare room and distancing and wearing masks around the house so fingers crossed!

AuntieMarys · 22/03/2022 11:02

Didn't catch it at all

Crackingowlsanctuary · 22/03/2022 11:03

I think with four of us in our family, all tested positive roughly 4-5 days after the last tested positive.

The fifth member of our family never caught it at all with no distancing/isolating between any of us and then went on to catch it from school a few weeks later.

WellBrewedNoSugar · 22/03/2022 11:04

3 days after DD I had a positive. DH stayed negative the whole

4 days for a white line, 5 days for red.

Ds tested positive last week and is now day 4. The other 5 in our family are still negative atm. We’re supposed to be going to Florida in 16 days so I’m really hoping we catch it asap or don’t get it at all. 🙈😭

6 days. Other DC or my partner didn't get it at all though

mamakoukla · 22/03/2022 11:25

Symptomatic one day after DC tested positive. I didn’t immediately test positive so redid two days later and it was positive

Annon12345 · 22/03/2022 11:53

Op same problem as me. Dh tested positive on Thursday last week. I'm still negative, did have covid in 2020 but know plenty who've got it twice so have been fully expecting to get it again but so far negative, not tested today, will do this afternoon

outofmydepthh · 22/03/2022 12:34

My husband came home from a stag weekend on the Sunday, tested positive on Monday night (suspected he caught it on the Friday night). I tested positive on the Saturday morning (so 5 days after husbands positive test).

We had been isolating away from eachother (me and kids in another room).
