No and I couldn't give a crap about sturgeon's 'rules'

ufucoffee · 22/02/2022 07:23

@cliffdiver

Yes, because I shop in Sainsbury's and they ask for masks.
I shop there too, they have never asked me to wear a mask and the majority of people in my local massive Sainsburys don't wear one.

No they don't. They suggest you do if you can, just like most places now. There are signs outside all the Sainsbury's near me saying that mask wearing is now a personal choice.
Newestname002 · 22/02/2022 07:59

Yes

NETSRIK · 22/02/2022 08:08

I think some people would happily wear them forever

Greyhair59 · 22/02/2022 08:19

No, though a lot of people do and lots still wear them outside too! SW London.

Yes, lots of supermarkets are still ‘suggesting’ masks, which is why I continue to wear masks in them

They obviously aren’t stood on the door asking you or putting signs out saying you have to because they are not allowed to say that and we are not legally obliged to wear them

But they are still saying it as a suggestion, so are many shops but this will obviously reduce over the next few months and they may well stop this week following the latest announcement

The shop i work in does the same and we have a mix of people not wearing them, wearing them automatically and also asking do they have to wear them (because they’ve forgotten their mask)

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 22/02/2022 08:31

So yes you are right they are ‘asking’ for them

If they didnt give a shit whether you wore a mask or not they wouldn’t bother with a sign

Is that a bad thing?
JamSandwich89 · 22/02/2022 08:55

Yes. Imagine being the person on the till serving person after person not wearing a mask. It's just being considerate. I don't understand why that's so hard for some people.

It’s not at all hard, I just can’t be bothered to put one on.
Queenoftheashes · 22/02/2022 09:09

Who goes to a staffed till? Urgh.

You’re being naive. They’re doing that because it covers all bases - they’re being seen to ‘do the right thing’ yet they know that making it law for anyone without an exemption to enter their premises with a face covering would be a PR disaster and be very aggravating for their staff. ‘Asking’ is a balanced approach.

9 times out of 10 they're behind a screen and 10 times out of 10 in shops by me they aren't wearing a mask either. So they can't be that bothered
HorrocksToThem · 22/02/2022 09:24

Yes

KneadingKitty · 22/02/2022 09:27

95% of supermarket staff where I live dont wear masks and didnt in the thick of it.

Most supermarket staff aren't wearing them either. And yes, for some wearing a mask is hard - not sure why after all this time people can't accept that.
ellenpartridge · 22/02/2022 09:38

No

Sparklingbrook · 22/02/2022 09:39

Most supermarket staff around here are wearing them.

NETSRIK · 22/02/2022 09:43

You have to ask? Crack on with your never ending covid theatre but the thought of never ending mask restrictions is not a good thing.

Bollocks.

Most of the supermarket staff round here, including Tesco, are themselves no longer wearing masks. When I was at my mother's recently I was in Morrisons and most staff there were also maskless.

None of it is hard. I don't like masks and find them hard to wear, so I don't wear one. Easy.

NETSRIK · 22/02/2022 09:44

That was directed at ChikaCherryCola

onlychildhamster · 22/02/2022 09:45

Yes

VaulterTech · 22/02/2022 09:46

Yes. Supermarkets is the one place I always wear a mask, I do think if I was to catch it, it would be from there! (Also it’s great for avoiding people I know)

ffscovid · 22/02/2022 09:50

Yes (except once last week when I'd forgotten it).
