@MarshmallowFondant

Don't know, and quite honestly I don't really care.
But you cared enough to post on a thread about it Wink

Was waiting for thatreply. Grin

I do think it's ok for people to say they don't care though if they don't. For balance.

Whatayear81 · 07/01/2022 18:03

Exactly

No caring about an issue is a valid response in itself

Whatayear81 · 07/01/2022 18:04

I don’t “care” about 99.99999% of thread i post on mumsnet

It’s about chilling out over a cup of tea when you have a few mins for me!

Lacedwithgrace · 07/01/2022 18:05

5 but all I see is people thinking it's 1

Pootles34 · 07/01/2022 18:06

Level 5 for the left, level 2 for the right... Hmm

Well indeed. I do read through this board occasionally. As do lots of other people who are very frightened and anxious and these threads feed that.

A wee reminder that not everyone is up to high doh with fear, waiting for the imminent collapse of society is a good thing, no?

Tealightsandd · 07/01/2022 18:07

I'm all for freedom of speech.

But seriously you obviously do care, because if you didn't you wouldn't bother clicking on the thread.

Anyway I'm off to enjoy a Friday night meal. Have a good evening all. And stay safe... 💉😷Smile

Bordois · 07/01/2022 18:07

Oh its just like June 2021 again

sighs nostalgically

FourTeaFallOut · 07/01/2022 18:09

And stay safe... 💉😷smile

I could happily go the rest of my life without hearing the word safe again.

Sparklingbrook · 07/01/2022 18:10

Exactly @MarshmallowFondant. This board was quite informative at one point but now it's just a bit strange at best.

I posted yesterday on someone asking about nappies I haven’t bought nappies in 6 years but i thought… what the heck and posted.

Did I “care”? Nope
Did I have a few minutes to kill whilst waiting for my grocery delivery? Yep

I’ve laughed out loud before. So can be humorous too
Tealightsandd · 07/01/2022 18:13

lots of other people who are very frightened and anxious and these threads feed that.

False hope (pretending all is ok when it isn't) is cruel, dangerous, and morally wrong.

Forewarned is well armed.

That said, pp have advised before that the excessively anxious might be better off avoiding Covid discussion, or at least taking time out.

But, whilst ignorance can be bliss, it is too often also dangerous. It's vitally important that we are able to freely talk about the reality of the situation.

Like Mark Drakeford says, England is an outlier.

Sparklingbrook · 07/01/2022 18:14

@Whatayear81 i have been saying for a few months now that the Coronavirus Topic desperately needs some sub sections. Maybe a Coronavirus AIBU for a start. Grin

Tealightsandd · 07/01/2022 18:15

Many experts have spoken out about how frightening they find the denial and dismissal. That doesn't (sadly) stop it going on.

MarshaBradyo · 07/01/2022 18:15

Like Mark Drakeford says, England is an outlier.

How are people clinging on to this when France and elsewhere have such high rates?

Is it just look at what fits your story?

It’s glaringly high cases.

Sparklingbrook · 07/01/2022 18:16

Forewarned is well armed

Depends on whether the 'information' being posted on here is reliable TBF.

Tealightsandd · 07/01/2022 18:16

Talking of frightened, Frances Ryan at the Guardian has some excellent articles on the fear experienced by the millions of vulnerable - particularly those in England.

Bordois · 07/01/2022 18:17

Old skools back ✊

I'd say the world's leading scientists and medical experts are reliable enough.
PrincessNutNuts · 07/01/2022 18:18

Do you agree though Princess and @Tealightsandd that chart does need an omicron overhaul

Like this?

Change the isolation rules. Everyone goes to work. Problem solved.

Tealightsandd · 07/01/2022 18:20

How are people clinging on to this when France and elsewhere have such high rates?

And with rates rising, Macron is taking action to mitigate.

VikingOnTheFridge · 07/01/2022 18:20

@Tealightsandd

Talking of frightened, Frances Ryan at the Guardian has some excellent articles on the fear experienced by the millions of vulnerable - particularly those in England.
Millions of the vulnerable would be a better way to phrase it than the millions of vulnerable. The vulnerable are a diverse group with different and sometimes opposing needs, and some of them have very different fears to those Frances has written about.
