Just seen on Sky New there is a news conference tonight at 5, interested to know what will be said...

There hasn’t been the usual rumblings “leaked documents” etc so hopeful just an update, what do we all think?

He will be announcing the great booster success - only made possible because we are no longer in the EU - or some such nonsense. I think it’s also about time we are reminded about all the new hospitals (new hospitals = a lick of paint and a couple of new machines)

My teeny weeny local cinema has films on well into next week. And, if you haven't seen West Side Story, I can thoroughly recommend it!

I think it might be more booster pushing to be honest. They probably have more data on those needing intensive care with/without boosters etc.
Also, if cases are plateauing in London there is no way lockdown will be introduced now.
There is a new variant in France though so maybe a bit about that

France have similar case levels and they're not doing anything really.

It’s not on BBC 1/ITV so it can’t be that important.

Apparently a lot of the NHS issues are that many patients can’t be discharged because there’s not enough care in the community available. Another reason to shorten isolation.

I read something on BBC the other day about how introducing restrictions now would be pointless- apparently the time to do it would have been Boxing Day or the week before but there's little point to it now.

So hopefully they will carry on with Plan B

Nothing needs to be done, but we are doing all sorts of things including building extra wards in hospital car parks

NHS moving to a war footing, that sounds like it is all going to go really well.
