Does this look like a genuine LFT taken within the time frame? I've never seen a positive one in real life to know myself

Early on, the line can be quite faint and colourless but then it gets darker & more pink.

Honestly I’ve never seen one that colour, they can be very very pale but usually have a pink colour to them IMO. Obviously I’ve not seen every single test. If it was mine I’d be doing another one but I’m assuming you’ve been sent this by someone.

Why are you querying it? It does look more grey than pink if thats what you mean.

This was my first (faint) one. As PP says, they are usually pink.

Yes @FawnFrenchieMum it's been sent. Their fourth time testing positive in a year or so, no PCR results to confirm.
It's such an unlucky coincidence that they keep happening on access weekends.
They've forged PCR results before. I just didn't know if this test looked a bit old, it's also possible it's someone else's I suppose.

I've posted before about the forgery ones in an old username.

If you’re ‘unsure’ about what you see in the photo just ask them to take another picture - say you can’t see the first one clearly.

When questioned by his brother he put the test next to his newborn to take another picture 'proving it'.

Given the history, it’s likely a faked one. However, this photo was taken within the time frame and my lines look almost black. The positive line was really, really red- almost blood red.

It's one of the older tests from a couple of months ago, some people do still have them though.

It looks dirty or dusty around T part, so might be contaminated anyway

yeah deffo compare all the previous ones to see if it is the same picture each time.

It has the number on it see if it matches the ones previously sent to you or same batch as one previously sent to you?

Ask for a copy if the confirmation text sent when you register a lateral flow test?

Yes, you can check against the serial number under the QR code.

Although the actual test looks like the newer flowflex version (rounded corners) rather than the original tests.

Does a positive Pcr ever materialise? There was a thread on here last week about how to get a +ve result on lfts with orange juice and various others.
