Anyone noticed the govt and news sources seem to be covering more and more stories regarding the unvaccinated (by choice)
I feel they might be ramping up support for restrictions for unvaccinated people.
It's feel very much like propaganda and warm up the masses.
Anyone agree or noticed this in the last 3/4 days?
@milkyaqua I beg you to go visit the yellow card website yourself. It’s all there in black and white.
I'm on there now. Can't see any data or any way to see already reported side effects. Can you please tell us where to look?

Trixiefirecracker · 22/12/2021 23:33

It’s not experimental, it has had all the required trials, please don’t peddle this BS. Don’t you realise at some point all vaccines were new?

AnotherOneWithNoGoodName · 22/12/2021 23:34

Ah, never mind I found a report. Your claim of "thousands" of deaths from the vaccine is- as I thought- BS.

Up to 8 December 2021, the MHRA had received Yellow Card reports of 428 cases of major thromboembolic events (blood clots) with concurrent thrombocytopenia (low platelet counts) in the UK following vaccination with COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca. Forty-seven of the 428 reports have been reported after a second dose. Of the 428 reports, 216 occurred in females, and 208 occurred in males aged from 18 to 93 years. The overall case fatality rate was 17% with 74 deaths, six of which occurred after the second dose
(www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-vaccine-adverse-reactions/coronavirus-vaccine-summary-of-yellow-card-reporting)

In case anyone needs it to be explained- the fatality rate of 17% is NOT 17% of people who received the vaccination, it's 17% of the very small number who developed serious side effects.

Trixiefirecracker · 22/12/2021 23:35

The three Covid vaccines currently approved for use in the UK have already been shown to be safe and effective in clinical trials.

It’s normal that authorities continue to monitor the safety of these vaccines even after they have been approved. This monitoring happens with all vaccines, including those that have been in use for years, to detect any adverse effects. Just because studies into these vaccines are continuing, doesn’t mean anyone getting the vaccine in the nationwide roll-out is part of an experiment.

Sarahschild · 23/12/2021 00:05

Mandatory vaccination and vaccine passports have been in force since Sept 15 in NSW. No one in other parts of the world gave a shit and now UK has a possibility that it will come in force.
It is an appalling way to treat people and the narrative surrounding it is so divisive and the lack of understanding and empathy for people who have their concerns is eye opening.

MN is one of the worst places to find this.

People have lost jobs, their business and relationships over their thoughts on this vaccine, have been locked down, enforced mask wearing and constantly being coerced and manipulated into taking this vaccine.
It doesn't work.
5500 cases in NSW today!
The regional town that I live in was locked down for three weeks for one case back in July and now all restrictions are off and people are free to do what ever they like. Except go to QLD or WA. We had 7 countries within one country at one point.
Never in history of Australia has their been restricted movement from state to state.

browneyes77 · 23/12/2021 00:14

@Honeyhorse

Where does that leave me? With a genuine needle phobia? I haven’t had any yet but am in the process of getting counselling to overcome this, which may be delayed due to more restrictions.

I feel really sad that this is something that may be considered Sad

I have a massive needle phobia. Panic attacks, hyperventilating, the works. I am PETRIFIED. I spent the first 2 vaccines having a hyperventilating meltdown in the waiting areas.

I forced myself to face my fear (even tried home hypnosis via YouTube! Grin) and I bought some Emla cream to numb the area on my arm where they put the needle and it works pretty well. And I can honestly tell you it isn’t too bad at all. It really isn’t. Never thought I’d actually say that, but it’s the truth!
The needle is tiny and if you feel anything it’s a small quick prick and that’s it (and we’ve all experienced those GrinGrin)

Pushing myself to have these vaccines has actually helped my phobia a little. I even went and had my booster earlier than the appointment I’d booked so I could get it done before Xmas! That’s how little the needle hurts. I actually, voluntarily had an injection, earlier than I’d booked, because I knew what to expect and knew it wasn’t super painful at all.

I made sure I booked my appointments in the morning so I didn’t have too much time to think about it. Put my Emla cream on 1.5 hours before my appointment and then told the people when I got there I was a major needle phobic (which they saw for themselves!) and they get you in and out quicker, so you’re not waiting around panicking.

@Thewiseoneincognito

Being unvaccinated will soon be akin to being a smoker. Slowly banned and outlawed from general society and deemed socially unacceptable, it’s one of the reasons I was vaccinated.

I think one of the first steps will be allowing employers the right to not pay them when they have to isolate. Another will be making any travel by airplane impossible without vaccination, even if we don’t impose it the majority of the world will do.

I figured another way will be mandates around their behaviour such as increased fines for the unvaccinated when not wearing a face mask when mandates are in place.

It will be incremental changes at first to influence a change of heart and make the ostracism palatable to the public.

Seems reasonable to me. People making choices have to accept the consequences of their decisions.

@Ssb85

I actually can’t believe how much hate I am reading on this thread. Considering how many thousands have died from the experimental (still in the trial phase) covid vaccine, it is understandable that many will not want to take it and if they do, they will want to wait. (You can find the total number of deaths and adverse reactions on the official yellow card reporting website - it’s all there but you have to go look for it). Bodily autonomy is not selfish, especially when it’s being threatened for a virus with over 98% survival rate. And your response to people who don’t want to play Russian roulette with their lives? Sod them! Exclude them! Let’s hate them??? Very VERY sad, I hope you get some empathy for Christmas.
I think I've found bullshit post of the week right here.
Semmelweiss · 23/12/2021 00:34

Would you support asking the obese to pay for their care? Or smokers? Or dangerous sports enthusiasts?

Covid-19: Fully vaccinated people can carry as much delta virus as unvaccinated people, data indicate

XenoBitch · 23/12/2021 00:43

@browneyes77

That is huge. Well done Smile

@Semmelweiss

I would support people who do dangerous things as a hobby being asked to pay insurance for said sport. Tobacco tax raises additional billions for the treasury already, and obesity is a multi-factoral health condition in itself, so no. (same with alcoholism- it's most times a symptom of other issues that need addressing)

I am 74 years old and suffer from 2 different types of arthritis, osteo & psoriatic. I had my second Pfizer jab in July. I have managed my arthritis very well until I had the 2nd jab. It spread to places it had never been before, neck, shoulders arms & head. It has been horrific. I went to see a private Professor who told me I was the eighth person to come to him in a week. I asked him if it could be the jab, he said reluctantly it is very likely! It has crippled me and many others so why would I be bullied into having a booster which could make my quality of life even worse than it already is ?? We are guinea pigs, they are not telling us everything.

Ineke · 23/12/2021 01:54

Honeyhorse, Insaw that they are trialling vaccines given without a needle but with a shot of air, taking the vaccine into the muscle. This is primarily for needle phobia people so may suit you.

Ineke · 23/12/2021 01:59

28feb I agree with you, I have suffered some joint pains and arthritic pain since the jab in new areas such as hip and leg. It is getting better slowly with exercise so I did have the booster even though I was wary of the side effects. Hope yours improves for you.

For those who think NHS care should be denied for the unvaccinated, do you also support refusing care for people suffering from disease related to alcohol, smoking or diabetes from being fat? As these also choices that put a strain on our health system.

What about people who are desperate for the jab but can't get it? I'm housebound, had 2 x AZ, but haven't been offered a third dose yet? I'm ECV & need a third & then a booster.

Claudethecat · 23/12/2021 06:39

Yeah that really happened.

MNHQ needs to step up and start banning people who spread lies about the vaccine or make Holocaust comparisons with the situation unvaccinated people are in. At least then we might be able to have a sensible debate.

ilovesooty · 23/12/2021 06:46

Comparing unvaccinated people to Holocaust victims is utterly disgusting. I'm sick and tired of seeing it on here.

GoodPrincessWenceslas · 23/12/2021 06:51

@Sarahschild, current death rates with over 90K cases a day in the UK are around 140. Compare that with January when we had around 50K cases a day with deaths around 1000 a day. How can you claim that vaccines don't work?

The fact is, it’s scary, that there is zero public debate about this. Zero

And yet, @Ssb85, we see and hear it being debated publicly all the time. Parliament spent a long time debating it all only last week. How have you managed to miss it?
