Anyone noticed the govt and news sources seem to be covering more and more stories regarding the unvaccinated (by choice)
I feel they might be ramping up support for restrictions for unvaccinated people.
It's feel very much like propaganda and warm up the masses.
Anyone agree or noticed this in the last 3/4 days?

Thats the point
It is not what you think
70% of population is double jabbed
Please check your facts before you post

Oh please, no one on here knows the exact figures so don’t get on your high horse…

Il referring to the links you posted.

@userperuser

I do not know one person IRL who supports the views of those on MN, even those most scared of covid in fact, talk of it in the media has caused at least 20 people I know to say they will now not take the boosters.
I call BS on that
Dollymantra · 21/12/2021 18:35

Lots of members of public ringing into radio shows today and commentary on TV in range of newspapers. So I do think the tide is turning re: restrictions for the unvaxxed.

People are sick of Covid and see the unvaxxed as they barrier to getting back to normal.

Malteser71 · 21/12/2021 18:37

Can’t be arsed to RTWT.

Mainly because I suspect it’s full of slightly thick people explaining why they don’t want the vaccine.

100% of my friends are vaccinated. Vast majority educated to at least degree level. Many scientists, doctors.

OTOH I had the misfortune to stop by a shop today where several people wearing dressing gowns (yes, they were out in their nightclothes) and not wearing masks were standing by the bacon isle discussing how the vaccine is poisonous.

Kind of hard not to see the link.

Believe what you like if it suits you, your posts on this thread clearly demonstrate that.

I work for a large company, have a large family and lots of friends so 20 really can’t be that hard to believe and yes I don’t know anyone that holds the views that you do.

That's because that's what this government want you and all the public to think that if everyone would get the vaccine you all get your life back which I doubt because then it will be that all the kids have to be vaccinated also

@JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon should we refuse to treat someone if they’re in an accident and weren’t wearing their seatbelt?

I couldn’t care less how many people you know 😂

Do report back on here when they bring in covid passports… give us an idea of the general consensus Grin
@IloveSooty - Really? And you know that how? Covid passports have a huge negative impact on the economy so I'm not convinced anyone in the hospitality industry would agree with you. Even five months of the current Plan B was predicted to cost about £18 billion. Surely we'd be better off investing that kind of money in our crumbling NHS rather than using it on pointlessly banning 'the unclean' from Tescos?
I didn't say I know - I said I think.

My belief is that the public mood may be changing. It was certainly borne out by the YouGov survey I did and personally I know a good few people who support some kind of vaccine pass and some who are in favour of mandatory vaccination.

Other people's experience may of course be different.

ilovesooty · 21/12/2021 18:43

And no one has mentioned Tesco.

Dollymantra · 21/12/2021 18:43

@Tittyfilarious81 er no, it’s because this is the way public opinion is going.

I think it may be the case of a ‘vocal minority’ phoning into radio shows about restricting the unvaccinated. Most people I know have a bit more sense and can see that it wouldn’t actually achieve anything (because it hasn’t elsewhere) and would have a detrimental impact on society that they wouldn’t want to see. Good to see that it’s whipping up people into a frenzy of hatred though - particularly when all the news about omicron is looking increasingly positive and we may not need any restrictions at all.
Davros · 21/12/2021 18:46

In England, London anyway, you already have to show vaccine proof or negative test to go to a theatre or sports event etc

userperuser · 21/12/2021 18:47

I literally just told you the general consensus is that boosters will be refused by those double jabbed as they are generally not at risk and wouldn’t have taken them if they had realised that would happen.

Tittyfilarious81 · 21/12/2021 18:48

@Dollymantra I'm sure it is because that's what is being pushed

bumbleymummy · 21/12/2021 18:48

Yougov poll? You mean the one that was called out for being fixed? They selected data based on what the answer to the first question was and worded it in a way to suggest that the majority supported it when they did not. There were screenshots of that one all over Twitter.

Cornettoninja · 21/12/2021 18:51

I agree with this but in truth they’re mostly a barrier to being able to tolerate high levels of infection the way we could over the summer. Everyone being vaccinated doesn’t solve covid.

My own opinion is that I don’t really care if the remaining small percentage of the population holding out on vaccinations want to take their chances up to the point it could make a difference between healthcare collapsing or not. At that point it becomes much less about covid and more about the fact that everything else the NHS is needed for is under greater threat. At that point I see a division - those who don’t want the vaccine but also want to avoid covid so take and understand why precautions are necessary and those who outright deny covid and the global evidence gained through large scale hardship and suffering over the past two years.

Think what you like.

I still believe the mood is changing and as I pointed out, my experience is that the people I know have lost patience with the wilfully unvaccinated now.

userperuser · 21/12/2021 18:53

The mood is changing alright more and more people IRL are being shocked by what’s being proposed and the government are relying more heavily on propaganda than ever before.

You mean the consensus amongst people you know right? Because uptake of the booster has been massive and I’ve noticed an uptick in first vaccinations over the last week or so too.
bumbleymummy · 21/12/2021 18:55

I think the mood is changing in the opposite direction. I think people are a lot less worried about omicron now that the data from SA and Denmark looks much better irt % people requiring hospitalisation, fewer requiring oxygen and much shorter stays. They can see the damage that restrictions and lockdowns have done and they can see that further restrictions are unjustifiable. I guess it depends on who you spend time with and whether you listen to hate filled phone in radio shows.
