Roll up - who's in? My plans are screwed as dc1 has tested positive. All entertainment welcomed.

SIL... rest of us awaiting PCRs now but hoping will be okay as she was negative on a LFT before we met up (restaurant). Totally messed up plans as family from across the world surprised us for Xmas that night! Hoping we might be okay as nobody else has symptoms.

So shit!

Saladd0dger · 18/12/2021 00:13

Dc1 tested positive last Monday. Track & trace say we are allowed out this Monday as that’s the 10 days from symptoms starting. I’m a nervous wreck that another 1 of the house will test positive.

Ozzie9523 · 18/12/2021 00:16

Yep 2 out of 4 here 😩

Icequeen01 · 18/12/2021 00:45

Just waiting for my PCR result but 99.% sure I'm positive as had a positive lateral flow and 3 other people at work have already tested positive with 5 others waiting PCR results. I've got symptoms as well.

So pissed off and worried as had contact with my 82 year old mum on Weds. Like a previous Op I'm hoping that because my LFDs were negative until Thursday evening she will be ok.

KloppsTeeth · 18/12/2021 00:47

DS tested positive on Wednesday. No symptoms. Me and DH have started to cough, ache, running a fever, can’t sleep but we are so tired. Other DS is CV.
Lying here burning up, paracetamol hasn’t helped. Stupid cough is keeping me awake. We’ve got the windows open for ventilation.
Flowers to everyone in the same boat.

KloppsTeeth · 18/12/2021 00:49

Should add, we have PCRs booked tomorrow. Both have had constant negative LFDs.
Hope your mum is ok @Icequeen01 we saw my Mum on Sunday. Ds has a positive lateral flow on Tuesday evening, negative before then. Worrying times.

Geppili · 18/12/2021 00:50

Just sending love to you all.

Dogscanteatonions · 18/12/2021 01:55

Partner has covid and I'm awaiting test result tomorrow hopefully. It's a covid Xmas for us and I'm devastated and worried as I'm vulnerable

Crapslattern · 18/12/2021 02:56

DC2 has tested positive too now. I suppose their isolation periods will be the same. 2021 sucks.

Hoping my 3xvaxx will kick in but we will see.

😩 I feel so ill. Awaiting PCR results. Don’t remember feeling this poorly in a long time.

LividLaVidaLoca · 19/12/2021 02:41

Had my booster Wednesday.

Positive laterals Saturday. Waiting for PCR results.

We really, really needed this Christmas. Had family plans after not seeing anyone with tiny baby last year. Now he’s a toddler and I JUST CAN’T. I’M DONE.

Also. School teacher. Obviously.

Sumlove · 19/12/2021 02:45

Positive PCR here. Isolating til boxing day. Feel dreadful, had booster last week. Dd birthday on Wednesday - all plans cancelled. First Christmas since my dad passed away (covid) and really needed to be with family. Bah humbug.
And if one more person says 'oh I had it and didn't feel bad at all', I'm gonna scream!

Blizy · 19/12/2021 03:45

Ds just had a positive result. Still waiting on dd and my results. I'm gutted, Christmas is cancelled. We had a Santa visit booked for tomorrow. My dad died a
Few weeks ago and it was
Arranged that we were spending Christmas with my mum and siblings. What an utter shitshow of a year.

Sumlove · 19/12/2021 05:51

Blizy - sorry about your dad 💐
As if it's not hard enough.
My dd is putting on a brave face but I know she's gutted about her birthday. So just me and her for Christmas now. Frantically ordering more crafty things on Amazon!

LividLaVidaLoca · 19/12/2021 05:59

Cosleeping toddler just woke for the day at 5.30 and I actually cried at him.

Haven’t tested him yet. Kind of don’t want to know Blush

StruggleStreet · 19/12/2021 06:06

Yup! DH tested positive yesterday. He’s actually out of isolation from Christmas Day but our trip to see my parents from Wednesday is obviously cancelled. Absolutely gutted and feel so awful for my mum, she was so looking forward to spending time with her grandchildren and I could hear such disappointment in her voice when I told her yesterday.

There is something really unnerving about DH having it but me not. I feel like I’m just waiting for it to hit me and am hyper aware of my body, alert for possible symptoms!

InMySpareTime · 19/12/2021 06:30

Not here but DMum tested positive so can't host Christmas. DB had to change his plans and DGM will spend Christmas alone. Just waiting for DDad to test + in a few days as he had it spring 2020 so might well be susceptible.
All triple vaxxed so hopefully nobody will be too ill with it (especially DGM who met DMum the day before her + and is very elderly)

Crapslattern · 19/12/2021 08:38

@Blizy Similar scenario with recent bereavement here. It really sucks. xx

milliememum · 19/12/2021 08:43

We're in too, dd positive pcr, isolating till 24th, me positive lft this morning, not looking forward too calling dm to cancel Christmas Sad

my8thMNusername · 19/12/2021 12:30

@my8thMNusername

So shit!

So 8 of us that were with SIL have come up negative on PCRs but we tested 3.5 days after seeing her so still doing LFTs and on lookout for symptoms. 3 of my family are over from the other side of the world and need to stay with us tonight and they spent most of the time with SIL (at her house before dinner) so I'm freaking out a bit! There's a twice daily LFT order here!
Sumlove · 19/12/2021 12:35

I have little faith in lft tests now. Mine was negative and then positive PCR. My dd was same when she had it.
Triple vaxxed and feel horrendous so god knows how I'd have been without!

Yuledo · 19/12/2021 12:43

Dd away at uni and tested positive. Staying there till later this week. Touch and go as to whether she started symptoms earlier on last week or whether she just had a hangover.
Can we risk Xmas with vulnerables?

timanddaisy · 19/12/2021 13:08

Yep.
Another teacher here.

Negative LFT Tues as had booster Wed. Felt dodgy Thurs/Fri but put it down to side-effects from jab.

Bit snotty yesterday so did a test. Two in fact. Two very positive LFTs instantly.

And the absolute kicker is that this is exactly the same way Christmas was ruined last year.

Feeling very sorry for myself today and mentally, really not great. It's an absolute shitshow

Anythingforsleep · 20/12/2021 21:39

Covid household here too. Ds tested positive last Thursday, DH has just had a positive LFT. Completely ruined Xmas plans, my nan passed away 3 weeks ago so really needed the family time especially after last year 😢
