I agree. At this point I have no fucking clue why I’ve bothered to have two vaccines and a booster, worn a mask and kept my distance for two years when I’m basically back at square one - in essence told not to go out and socialise, not to go into the office and scared that my children won’t be allowed back into the classroom in January.

He explains how Omicron might not not be milder. It might be immunity working. That means vaccines are making a difference. Then think about what that might have meant if we didn't have vaccines.
Most of the population haven't ever had covid. The % is surprisingly low, all things considered.
So yes there absoluetely is a good reason to get vaccinated and boosted.
Getting boosted should reduce your chance of being infected. Thats how you move back to normality.
But two doses should reduce your chance of being seriously ill.
All the stuff about getting back to normal is actually secondary to the wider health implications.
You get immunity from repeated exposure to coughs and colds. Thats the point of a flu vaccine.
