What does plan B mean for those without vaccines?

So it looks like Plan B announced within the next couple of days,which seems to predominantly mean vaccine passports and wfh.

Everyone in this household is fully vaccinated, but one important person (to us) isn't.

Presumably the passports are to gain entry to certain venues so out of those it's carry on regardless?

Does it matter why they don't have the vaccine or what age they are?

@Aishah231

I won't go anywhere that requires a covid passport. This is a completely unjustified attack on freedom. Even if vacinnes worked to stop you getting it and passing it on (which we all know from experience they don't) it would still be unjustified.
It’s been so nice to go to the theatre, cinema, etc. I don’t understand cutting off your nose to spite your face
PurpleDaisies · 08/12/2021 17:22

@Viviennemary

You are either jabbed or not jabbed. Medical exemptions make no difference.
???

Medical exemptions exist for covid passes already. Why wouldn’t they also be granted for future vaccine passes?

I am due to meet a whole 2 other people in a small pub next week.
I can only hope Plan B does not fuck up our plans. I am unvaccinated, but both of them have not had boosters so it will prob affect them too

Yes this is the sort of thing that is troubling me.

Personally I'd be delighted if they went back to booked tables and table service, but I think they will use passports to avoid that.

Will passports be required by people working in these venues?

PurpleDaisies · 08/12/2021 17:24

I’d be amazed if boosters could be part of it. The rollout hasn’t gone far enough yet.

I am fine with booking a table, and would be fine taking an LFT too. But Plan B is no LFT. Be fully jabbed, or fuck off home basically.

@NutCheeseBag

I am fully vaccinated and boosted. I am buggered if I will download a government app or carry identification papers or discuss my health though. I have told the restaurant that my party of 14 for Christmas lunch will be cancelling if a passport is required.
I just don't get this. If you've been vaxxed then your details are stored. I don't see what difference it makes to then have an app on your phone that shows that info that you can wave at people when you walk into a pub.

I agree. No one under 40 has had it have they, unless in specific jobs? Under 40s can’t even book yet I don’t think.
Wokemon · 08/12/2021 17:28

Does anyone see how actually mental this all is? Feel even a slight sense of foreboding? Anyone?

SickAndTiredAgain · 08/12/2021 17:29

How do you get a vaccine passport if you don’t have a smart phone? My grandparents have one old Nokia mobile between them that is never switched on. They’re triple jabbed, how do they prove that?

gogohm · 08/12/2021 17:29

Hopefully it means they will get themselves vaccinated!

You can get a physical piece of paper sent to you in the post.

My phone is so old, it is no way smart. There are other ways like some NHS log in.. which needs the internet.
gogohm · 08/12/2021 17:33

@SickAndTiredAgain

If you go on the government website for them they will send them a written pass that lasts 3 months

Yes I'd hope so too, but even if they do (unlikely) it won't help over this Christmas period when it's going to cause me the stress

I've got a paper one, it doesn't show me as having the booster though.
ErrolTheDragon · 08/12/2021 17:37

Vaccine passports are the sensible balance of rights and responsibilities.

The headline of this is a bit inflammatory but it's against the backdrop of compulsory vaccinations in parts of Europe. Do the people aghast at passports want that, or do they want lockdowns, or ...what?

"Absolutely they should but this is one of those situations where I really must not have an opinion and must bite my tongue."

Then unless they are medically exempt from having the vaccine they face the consequences and don't have a life outside the house. Very selfish to put others at risk.

SpookyScarySkeletons · 08/12/2021 17:40

Press conference at 6pm so I guess we may find out shortly!

Absolutely get that Grin but honestly you don't have to say anything. You enjoy being able to go out with the rest of the people around you who can and try not to let their decision impact on you or the other (easier said that done I know). They will only have them self to blame after all!

Yes I know. It's the way everyone else will be expected to accommodate and/or that plans will be cancelled that is concerning me.

I'm definitely over thinking, but I'm braced for lots of upset from all sides and then inevitably "someone" will tell them they're being selfish/stupid and then all hell will break lose.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 08/12/2021 17:46

I just called 119 as I can't book my booster but it's 5 months since my last one. Apparently it's anything up to six months but tonight it's changing to 3. This is all getting weird now.

madmomma · 08/12/2021 17:48

This is fucking mental. Why people are embracing this I'll never know. Just giving your freedoms away without a whimper! If course we want high rates of vaccination, but segregating people like this isn't the answer!

How are unvaccinated people putting others at risk? How are they putting vaccinated people at risk? Trust the vaccine or not.
