Mine still hasn't come back (3 months on) and no one I know who has had covid has got theirs back either. I need some hope, feeling pretty drained by it now Sad

Almost 4 months after catching covid, I can still not really smell anything (and in the rare occasions I think I can smell something it smells wrong). My sense of taste is largely back, but not quite right. I think I’m still missing the part of taste linked to smell.

I’m 6 months post covid.. I had 3 months of not smelling anything & my taste being muted but not awful. In December, the parosmia started. It’s not as bad as some people but my smell & taste is pretty distorted. Mint, strawberry, summer fruit type flavours taste like sewage. I have to hold my nose brushing my teeth which helps but it’s a challenge! All shampoo smells like rotten meat.. I sniffed every single bottle in Sainsburys to try find one that was tolerable. Eggs & chicken have a floral taste Confused and most other food doesn’t taste correct. It’s not awful but it’s def not quite right 😔

It’s pretty shit, I feel quite down about it these days but I try to remain hopeful it’ll be normal one day.. 🥴

@Zolla can I ask if the parosmia started after your booster? That’s the same for me - shower gel, toothpaste etc…

My sense of smell finally came fully back last week after having covid in September.
Everything smells really intense and I'm identifying the things that people are eating from across the office.
Unfortunately I can also smell grotty bed sheets again so have to wash more regularly

Dd had covid early October. Her sense of smell came back around 3 weeks later but her taste is still off. Many foods including her favourite dinner tastes vile to her now

@Pearmain - hmm, I had never really linked the two but potentially. I had a stinking cold in December that wasn’t covid, I did a couple PCRs. It was after that the altered smell/taste began to creep in.. I had my booster shortly before that.

It’s such a pain in the bum. I’ve never worried about covid, happy to get on with life etc. but this was my one thing I dreaded happening. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Sigh. Hopefully it’ll improve 🙏🏼
