PCR result waiting time

I know this has probably been done to death and I’m sorry, but does anyone mind filling me with a glimmer of hope regarding the waiting time for PCR results. It’s just come up to 24 hours now for DS’s result which I know probably isn’t that long, I just wish I could stop checking my phone every five minutes!

@soberfutures really?? I posted one for myself in September and got result the next day. I posted off one for DS yesterday and was hoping I'd get his results this afternoon....

I had mine done at a walk-in at 1pm yesterday, results at 8am today.

Yes I was panicking in case it was lost. I tracked it to been delivered but then nothing between Thursday night and Sunday night.

Ours were 21 hrs on Sunday.

24 hours from putting it in the postbox (almost due a collection) to result.

The longest I've had to wait was about 27 hours. The others were all under 24 hours. Sometimes the email comes earlier than the text message so keep checking for that

drive/walk in tests have all been back within 15 hours for us this week including Dp's positive results.

Postal is taking a lot longer for DS'a results. Wish I could take him to a drive through but easier to do the test at home with him - he has sen.

Interesting, was that 24 hours from posting or 24 hours from when it arrived at the lab? Still waiting for postal results here but drive in tests have been 15 hours.

Not had any done for a couple of weeks until today.
Previously 19 hours was the longest we’ve had to wait (walk in centre) and they’ve been after contacts from T&T
Today I have symptoms so all of us have been. I’m hoping for an equally quick turn around again.

I haven't waited longer than 24h for any of my tests, except for one that was posted on a Saturday, and that was only about 30h. Those were all negative. Am currently anticipating a positive because I had a positive LFT and I'm ill, but it's been 48h since doing a drive-through test, and I still haven't heard anything.

48 hours at the end of last week. One positive and one negative.
All other ones have been within 24 hours so I think they are taking longer now.

We went to walk in at 5.30 yesterday and are still waiting (and obsessively checking)
The one our DS did a few weeks back was only 13 hours!

I’m there with the obsessive checking! We have done two previously and both came back in less than 24 hours. I know I’m being impatient, but my DS is doing his nativity play at school tomorrow and I just really want to know if he is going to be able to join in. Grrrrrrrrr!
I think I need to lock my phone in a box!

DD was tested at 5pm last night, email and text (negative) came through around 10am.

This is my experience too. Email at midnight, text at 7am. I always make sure I check emails now!
