Just that really! Since he got his positive PCR, he's been banished to his room, so if he stays in there, and she only does downstairs, can she come? (1st world problem, I know!)
**@BudgeSquare* @Tryagainplease* is saying the exact opposite as they said they would pay whether the cleaner came or not.

It is up to you whether you clean today or not. I will still pay you whatever you decide”
Thank you for understanding my post Smile
I thought it was quite clear.

@BudgeSquare of course no one in their right mind would choose to risk catching Covid if they’d still get paid for not cleaning. But I would still rather give them the choice.

FWIW, I paid my cleaner all the way through the pandemic. I pay her when she has to self isolate when either her, or her children have caught covid. I’ve also paid her for 6 weeks when she had her baby. She is also my friend and I am ridiculously grateful for her.
You know fuck all about me and had to perform some pretty spectacular mental leaps to get to the conclusion that you did.

Of course the OP shouldn't have the cleaner around when there's a positive case in the house, total no-brainer.

@rrhuth if you test positive on LFT it is not mandatory to inform anyone. When I did, I simply isolated for ten days (completely asymptomatic). I'd only left the house to go to the supermarket for about ten minutes in the week beforehand (obviously where I caught it) and hadn't had any contact with anyone - I don't have visitors, we've no friends or family, so no contact tracing to do.

You don't have to notify anyone (but you do have to isolate, obviously).

What you mean is you would exploit your financial advantage to subtly coerce someone poorer than you to put themselves, their family and their livelihood at risk

Reminds me of all the (non CV) holier than thou 'we haven't left the house since March 2020' types who were quite content to pass on their perceived risk to those in low paid, precarious employment, often working in fulfilment centres with no SD or ventilation, so they could get their every whim delivered.

Why? Why would you 'give them the choice' - in other words, place pressure on them to make a 'choice' that - by your own admission - no one in their right mind would make?

There is literally zero reason that you would do this other than to place subtle pressure on them to put themselves at risk.

It has no benefit to the person doing the cleaning job. None. It only benefits you/the OP. There is no justification whatsoever for 'giving them the choice' when you are perfectly aware that it only has negative consequences for them, and positive ones for you.

A decent human being would say, "We have COVID in the house. Of course you can't come here to clean. But don't worry, we will pay you anyway. See you once we're in the clear!"

That is the ONLY decent thing to do.
