This is the DATA thread.

Our preference is for factual, data driven and analytical contributions.

Please try to keep discussion focused on these.

Thanks, boys3, great graphs.

The case trends in 75s+ are encouraging and, in my personal opinion, already show the impact of boosters.

The absolute numbers for 90s+ are sadly still high (even though they are moving in the right direction). Specifically in NE we are still seeing relatively high numbers of hospital admissions from care homes. I hope boosters will help to improve the trend even further.

boys3 · 02/11/2021 21:53

as reported cases are the easiest things to tabulate, the 25 councils with the highest seven day rate in England for the most recent week - again with a three day lag applied.

these are councils that has been in the highest 25 in one of the four previous weeks shown, and are now outside of the highest 100 in the most recent weeks. This list includes the likes of Kettering, Corby and Trafford

the 25 councils in England with the lowest current rate. There are even a handful (just!) not in London. if I had made the table lowest 26 then Brum would also feature.

COVID parallels with The Famous Five.

Julian and Dick, ineffectual though likely we’ll meaning cabinet ministers.

Anne, mass and timely production of masks, likely with a gingham bias, would have been her contribution.

George would have invented the vaccines, planned and delivered a brilliant roll out, and ensured no delays, prevarications or confused communications in 12-15 and the booster roll outs.

JanglyBeads · 03/11/2021 09:17

Thanks @PrincessNutNuts - that explains why I had no idea what they were talking about! I presume the Timmy comment also relates to the prog?

Hmm, not sure I agree about mainly well-intentioned cabinet ministers, sadly.

JanglyBeads · 03/11/2021 09:18

Uncle Quentin would have invented the vaccines!

Yes, I'm not sure many people under 45 (?) will have read them.

That would only apply to Julian and Dick, not the past and present incumbents. I should have made that clearer. Grin

Phew Boys3!

pussycatlickinglollyices · 03/11/2021 15:33

boys3 Thanks for the colourful tables. Brew Cake
I'm feeling a bit happier now we've moved out of the top 25.

Does anyone know of anyone around 60 who has had a booster?
Piggy has your DH heard anything yet? and have you had your flu jabs?

Mindymomo · 03/11/2021 15:55

@pussycatlickinglollyices. My DH 64 had his booster on Monday at a walk in at a church. This is in Surrey and along with a small pharmacy, they are the only places doing boosters and he queued for over an hour outside. The big hub at Sandown Park races are only doing walk ins first vaccines for 12-15 year olds.

bluetuesdayy · 03/11/2021 16:20

Can anyone remember what cases were recorded as last Wednesday? Over 41k cases today. So hard to know what's going on!

43,941 cases reported last Wed.

bluetuesdayy · 03/11/2021 16:30

Thank you both!

pussycatlickinglollyices · 03/11/2021 16:32

@Mindymomo Thank you I've been to Sandown Racecourse, it's a bit of a trek from Cheshire Our vaccination centre is appointment only. I'll get him to chase it next week as our 6m are up then.

Piggywaspushed · 03/11/2021 16:44

Pussycat, nothing re booster. He managed to book flu jab for today at a Boots. It was the only available appointment for weeks.

sirfredfredgeorge · 03/11/2021 16:44

Seems a bit of a jump for Scotland, is that a pattern I've missed 'cos I look less?

lurker101 · 03/11/2021 16:47

@pussycatlickinglollyices likely not much help for you geographically - NI finally announced a list of pharmacies taking bookings yesterday. I’ve got both my parents (60s) booked in for appointments this week.

Piggy well at least the flu one has been easier to get than last year!

Thanks, lurker Age-wise it's getting nearer I suppose Smile
