@Puzzledandpissedoff What is your opinion on the NHS guilt tripping the public instead of telling the Government It frequently looks like they are joining together to emotionally blackmail the public.

This is why i think less ppl will sign those petitions.

Iggly · 20/10/2021 19:22

@puppeteer

Actually the government has been saying to remain cautious, and act with responsibility.

Even Javid was being far less cavalier than many of us expected, and some of us hoped.

Their message hasn’t changed though has it, just the nature of the delivery. Sajid is vaguely more competent than Boris but that’s not hard.
frumpety · 20/10/2021 19:42

The NHS isn't guilt tripping the population @MercyBooth, the Government ( the people who are entirely responsible for the NHS ) is simply using the NHS to shift blame away from themselves. The whole 'Protect the NHS' was bollocks, this Government couldn't give a gnats chuff about the NHS, but if the NHS was completely overwhelmed people might start asking the question why ?
Why aren't there enough beds ? As some people keep trying to point out, according to them hardly anyone is in hospital because of Covid, they just happen to also have Covid, so why is there still an issue with bed numbers ? Surely if it isn't Covid related then these are normal admission type things, so why are the NHS struggling for beds ? why isn't there enough capacity in social care to allow people to be discharged safely and in a timely manner ? Social care is provided by local councils not the NHS, could it be the massive cuts to council budgets, have had a knock on effect ?

MercyBooth · 20/10/2021 19:48

There are plenty of doctors on Twitter guilt tripping the public including one a while ago calling the public dumb.

If i had behaved like that in any of my previous jobs i would have been out on my ear.

SapereAude · 20/10/2021 19:51

Big difference between a doctor saying people who don't do X are dumb and telling Mavis when she's sitting in his surgery she's a big thicko, surely?

frumpety · 20/10/2021 19:56

What behaviour were they describing as dumb ?

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 20/10/2021 19:56

secretllama - angry in general today Smile

both for catching it (off my kid from school we suspect as I wfh permanently and don’t really go anywhere) and for people not being cautious any more.

MercyBooth · 20/10/2021 19:57

they were using the hashtag #freedumbday.

MercyBooth · 20/10/2021 19:58

Wait til the docs pushing for lockdowns ask the public to sign their petitions against privatisation...then youll see

Of course dear.
MercyBooth · 20/10/2021 20:04

You really think ppl wont be angry after losing their livelihoods to have the same people who championed this asking please sign this petition.

Nice echo of David Cameron there btw

SapereAude · 20/10/2021 20:06

So they were saying the idea of Freedom Day on July 19th was dumb. Ergo, criticising the dumb government for doing a dumb thing?
You do like to put your own spin on things don't you? Hmm

frumpety · 20/10/2021 20:11

Why would they need to ? This Government wants to protect the NHS does it not and I am fairly sure they mentioned something similar in their last manifesto ? Are you suggesting that the Government have economical with the truth when it comes to their plans for the NHS ?

Boris wouldn't do that. He hasn't found any magic money trees to spaff on his mates, Hasn't raised taxes. No, no no.
katesbushh · 20/10/2021 20:39

@MercyBooth you're so anti-NHS aren't you?
Anti nurse
Anti Dr
Anti ahp
I've had discussions on here with you before and it shines through in every single one of your posts.
Even popping up on threads where hcp's are at rock bottom and talking about ptsd etc.

You must be an absolute delight to know.

julieca · 20/10/2021 20:47

Yes I have only ever seen MercyBooth slag off the NHS, Drs and nurses.

MercyBooth · 20/10/2021 20:48

Im anti this.............................

Universal free healthcare is when doctors make it a crime to see your mum every winter.

Im not anti NHS thats ridiculous. Friend of mine used to work for Morrisons. She was expressly told about social media policy. And that denigrating customers online came under this and would be instant dismissal Classed as bringing the store into disrepute.

frumpety · 20/10/2021 20:49

www.conservatives.com/our-plan

Just a little reminder of what was guaranteed by Boris Johnson.

I know sometimes my posts are a little daft, but does can someone explain what this ones about please?
MercyBooth · 20/10/2021 20:49

No im questioning the ones with books to sell. Who say that social distancing is no big deal Its a big deal to the businesses they get their tax from.

Morriosons have a book to sell?
julieca · 20/10/2021 20:51

@jgw1 Fairly typical posts from MercyBooth tbh.

MercyBooth · 20/10/2021 20:54

No the busineses the NHS get their tax from. Where do they think the money comes from.

The doctor in those links explains it better than i can.

MercyBooth · 20/10/2021 20:55

Social distancing will affect those businesses badly.

The NHS is a health service...........not a church.
