Any one else noticed protester at or near schools recently. I was late coming back from shopping and drove pass a different school not the one my child goes to and there was loads of them. The signs where saying no vaccine for children.

@Evesgarden

And here come the personal aggressive attacks when you start questioning the ethics of vaccinating kids with emergency vaccines when they may not need it.

I've reported your post @DismantledKing.

I completely stand by it. Anyone that protests outside a school is a fucking arsehole, and that goes for anyone that agrees with it.
Evesgarden · 11/09/2021 09:10
@Evesgarden
Do a search for the photos.
They're all in London. No, they aren't outside schools, but these are the sort of people who are prepared to stand and shout in your child's face.

Yes, I AS'd you. To see if you tended to post on anti-vax stuff and to see if you had children. Because, call me old-fashioned, I find it hard to believe any parent could advocate this sort of thing going on outside their child's school.
what's anti vac stuff?

Anti Polio?
Anti (MMR)?
Anti Chickenpox?
Anti flu?

As my kids have all those and the flu vaccine every year.

Or just covid vaccine cautious for kids?

There is a huge difference. Its lazy to slur parents who feel like this just to try and win a argument

Ihaveattached · 11/09/2021 09:12

The biggest anti vaxxer I know is actually a qualified teacher and also owns a nursery. She's far from unintelligent. I wonder what the parents paying her large amounts to keep their children safe think about her views.

Geamhradh · 11/09/2021 09:12

My word you're a delicate flower. And I didn't slur you. I AS'd you to see if you were an anti-vaxxer.
You're the one actually posting misinformation and lying about other posters.

MarshaBradyo · 11/09/2021 09:12

I’m not keen on protests outside schools, not even leaflet giving really.

But people can obviously choose not to go ahead for dc without judgement.

SaskiaRembrandt · 11/09/2021 09:15

@DismantledKing

Protestors should not be outside schools, and if you think otherwise then you’re a fucking idiot.
This. I can't believe anyone could argue otherwise. There is no reason to protest outside a school.
MarshaBradyo · 11/09/2021 09:16

And on flip side to no judgement children should not be targeted by adults.

Well, yesterday there was one scattergunning the threads claiming to be an NHS Senior Manager. I think some slip through the conspiracy net tbh.

It's interesting (@noblegiraffe, I wonder if you've noticed it?) that the Covid topic has trundled along fairly quietly for a month or so and then suddenly, this last couple of days it's gone Mach 3 with its hair on fire anti-vax, conspiracy, denial, everybody else except the UK manipulates its figures, Great Barrington etc. It's like the poor of understanding have sent the kids back to school and literally dived headfirst into the glorious www of the conspiracy theory.

itsgettingwierd · 11/09/2021 09:17

I can't believe there's someone on a parenting forum actually defending protesters outside a school scaring children with a one sided agenda.

Vaccinate or don't. Personal choice.

But don't intimidate 11-16yo to get your POV across. And it doesn't matter if it's only city centres. Every child around the country should be safe from this type of intimidating behaviour at their place of education.

Not just the kids in Swindon Hmm

TheYearOfSmallThings · 11/09/2021 09:17

They would be unwise to target secondary schools around here. Even if the kids didn't disagree with them, something would be thrown. Then lots of things would be thrown.

Piggywaspushed · 11/09/2021 09:18

And I already know your point of view - vaccinate all children regardless if they need it to protect teachers.

I challenge you to find a post where noble has ever said that.

gogohm · 11/09/2021 09:19

Not seen any myself but then my area has very high (over 95% of over 16's) vaccination rates, local gp is known to have vaccinated 16's&17's long before the general announcement to vaccinate and is doing 12+ for the slightest reason if parents ask (and they are)

You’re either being disingenuous or you’re just not very bright. We’re talking about protesting outside schools, not vaccinating children.
Piggywaspushed · 11/09/2021 09:21

The same people saying these protestors should be outside schools froth at the mouth about the Muslim groups outside schools, or about kids protesting about the environment or BLM , or the student protests staged at a school in London last term.

didyouseeit · 11/09/2021 09:31

It wouldn't be compulsory. That person is a nutter.

KaptainKaveman · 11/09/2021 09:32

If you want to protest g up to Whitehall and do it there. Not at a local school populated by kids, you abject cowards.

KaptainKaveman · 11/09/2021 09:32

'go'

Whitefire · 11/09/2021 09:59

So I (hypothetically) live in a house next to the school gates, could I (hypothetically) protest on my own drive? Am I then protesting outside a school or outside my house? P

noblegiraffe · 11/09/2021 10:06

Would you protest outside your own house if it was not next to a school gates, Whitefire?

I don't think protesters normally protest in their own driveway unless strategically placed.

Deletesystem33 · 11/09/2021 10:07

Well they are not going toe Antifa or Extinction Rebellion are they.

What do either or those groups have to do with anything?

Whitefire · 11/09/2021 10:07

As I was talking hypothetically I have no idea if I would or wouldn't. Though I guess if I felt strongly about something then I would.

KingsleyShacklebolt · 11/09/2021 10:09

No protests I have heard of in Glasgow. How odd.

walksen · 11/09/2021 10:20

Not sure what protesting outside of schools will achieve?

Indoctrinate and intimidate pupils with their one sided agenda? It is not like teachers or heads have any influence over policy. Usually any jabs might be given at school but only with parental permission.

If you don't want your kid vaccinated don't give permission.

If you do then grant it.

So much for wanting schools to get back to normal.

noblegiraffe · 11/09/2021 10:21

Not sure what protesting outside of schools will achieve?

It would helpfully identify wankers to their communities, I guess.
