No.

And I think it would be very unlikely at ours.

RiskyReels · 10/09/2021 16:26

Yes at our local secondary harassing the new year 7 kids on their first day Angry

frozendaisy · 10/09/2021 16:31

My secondary school kid would tell them to do one.

What is the problem it won't be compulsory.

Oh that’s not good.

No we haven’t had this at either secondary

Wonder if there’s areas where it’s more likely

Geamhradh · 10/09/2021 16:55

Good lord.
And I thought they were all on here.

Saucery · 10/09/2021 17:00

No, they restrict themselves to the local FB groups here, swarming onto any Public Health post about vaccinations. One boy I used to work with stood up to a couple of them, saying he was glad vaccinations were being made available and that he would have one as soon as he was eligible. They were awful to him, but he remained polite and calm.

Wakemeuuuup · 10/09/2021 17:03

That's one of the most stupid things I've ever heard.

If the decision to vaccinate 12-15 year olds is made it won't be by schools but CMOs.

Poor yr7s being harassed like that, especially in the 1st week. The stupid part of that is that most of them aren't even 12Hmm

2boysDad · 10/09/2021 17:06

To be fair, the average year 7 kid is still intellectually superior to the average anti-vaxxer.

Dghgcotcitc · 10/09/2021 17:12

Yes big problem at ours yesterday quite worrying!

MissMaple82 · 10/09/2021 17:15

Not hurting anyone, freedom of speech and all that. They get a pomp pomp from me

herecomesthsun · 10/09/2021 17:16

We have teachers outside the senior school waiting as the children arrive.

Anyone harassing the little ones would be given short shrift.

You are happy for adults to use threatening behaviour in front of children? Really?

What do they aim to achieve by protesting at school? To intimidate children to not to want to get vaccinated?

nancy75 · 10/09/2021 17:19

Wtf is a pomp pomp? As for not hurting anyone - is it really fair for 11 year old kids, just starting a new school to have to engage with the local idiots?

Not seen it here, my 16yr old & friends take a very dim view of antivaxers & would have no qualms about telling them so.

Though given you have managed to be pro-shielding, anti-vaccination, are proud of the fact that you have never followed any of the rules around Covid and think that anyone who does has been brainwashed (you're very prolific on MN, TL:DR all of the utter shite you post- but those were enough) I suppose your moral bar is low enough to think scaring children is OK.

Because they can. Such is the level of ….. unintelligence.

Is a 'pomp pomp' a regional expression for 'a kick up the arse'? If so, I am right with you.

Big issue locally.

Some creepy bloke trespassed onto the school premises on Sunday where my daughter and her friends were training for a sport in the gym - it was v unnerving for them - he then stuck up anti vax posters and left.

There was an anti vax protest outside the school yesterday by the usual male odd ball types hounding the young girls again after school.

Why though, its not compulsory, if anti vaxxer dont want their kids to be vaccinated fair enough, but leave other peoples kids alone.
illuyankas · 10/09/2021 18:34

I wonder who are these people protesting at school.
Are they the parents of the school children? If so, feel sorry for their children, it must be really embarrassing. Or if not, what reason do they have to go and protest at certain school, potentially scaring the children they say they want to protect.
My impression is that they don't really care for children, they are just selfish people with agenda.

QuornStarMartini · 10/09/2021 18:38

I haven’t seen or heard of it happening here. I’m not vaccinated, although not anti vax and people can think what they like but harassing children isn’t acceptable.

Verite1 · 10/09/2021 18:40

They were outside my son’s school. Apparently they were getting short shift!

trumpisagit · 10/09/2021 18:44

I am not sure whether I want my children vaxed (u15), but protesting outside schools is wrong and intimidating.
It may not be an option anyway.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 10/09/2021 19:10

Not seen any outside school but shitloads of them outside the science museum in London last week. I was worried my little son would be scared but he declared them “weird” and that was it.
I got increasingly angry walking around the medicine section of the museum, which is full of history about deadly and debilitating childhood illnesses and pleas to vaccinate kids, shows you how far we’ve come in some ways, the fucking idiots outside however…
