Any one else noticed protester at or near schools recently. I was late coming back from shopping and drove pass a different school not the one my child goes to and there was loads of them. The signs where saying no vaccine for children.

If they have jobs, wouldn't they be wary of being seen out in the community harassing schoolkids?

They won’t all be harassing kids, they’ll just be protesting peacefully I would think. Some protesters are willing to take things further than others.

Deletesystem33 · 10/09/2021 23:14

When those homophobes were protesting outside schools a few years ago, didn't they put in an exclusion zone?

Parker231 · 11/09/2021 07:42

There shouldn’t be protests outside schools- in particular from anti vaxxers.
A group of anti vaxxers turned up at one of the vaccination centres I was working at. I would have loved to have had the opportunity to tell them what I thought of them but we had to leave it to the police to deal with. I would have arrested them all, locked them up and thrown away the key!

gamerchick · 11/09/2021 07:56

@Kendodd

With regard anti vax posters, be very careful, there have been reports that some of them have razor blades behind them.
Doesn't that get said about most poster campaigns? I know it's in the press but they all show the same picture and we all know this shit gets staged.

Oh stop it. This gets trotted out over every thing.

People have a right to protest. We can not turn in to a country where this is stopped.

protesting out side a school when the protests relates to children is where they need to be. Especially this.

The JVCI ^STILL* can't decide whether its worth the risks for children to have this vaccine so why are people I responsible positions pretending to kids its completely fine? How can children make an informed decision about it when even the experts are unsure.

I've had both vaccines but my kids won't be having it, not every one wants their kids to have and people need to be aware that there is actually a huge amount of people that oppose this.

I find it fascinating that people have forgotten what happened only ten years ago over the swine flu vaccine and flu is actually way way more dangerous to children than covid.

When children have vaccines to 'protect' other people and they end up with a life long debilitating disability we really need to tread carefully and not allow fear to take over scientific facts.

Do you have a link please to how many children have a lifelong disability from the Covid vaccine?

No it isn't, stay away from my kid. Parents do not want their kids to have to walk past the type of wankers who have been trying to violently force their way into the BBC, or been having rallies in London saying that nurses who give vaccines ought to be hanged. I do not trust them around children.

If you're going to suggest that only nice, kind, mumsy anti-vaxxers are going to turn up, well that hasn't happened at the other protests has it?

Evesgarden · 11/09/2021 08:53

Point to me where I said that. I never did and you know full well I didn't.

I was talking about the rushed out swine flu vaccinations which effected children and adults with narcolepsy. They have only just received compensation ten years later despite the Gov dragging them to high courts three times to prevent a pay out.

My point was we should have learned from that instead of panicking and giving children vaccines they may not actually need.

If you genuinely havnt heard what happened over the swine flu vaccine and those effected just google. There is a lot of information on it.

@Evesgarden

You have a 5 year old I believe?
Do you really want the attached outside her school? What are you going to do to stop her being scared to go back? How are you going to explain to her that you actually support this?

Your exact words:

they end up with a life long debilitating disability (they referred back to "children" at the beginning of your sentence)

Ah its really cringey you have gone through my posts.

The first picture of the raging male could be off any protest.

These are mass protests normally taken in the city centres to cause as much attention as possible where hundreds/thousands of people turn up

This is hardly going to happen out side you local school in swindon is it Hmm

More likely a few mums and dads with placards before pick up

I'm not going to get in to a tango over it with you. You know exactly what I meant.
Evesgarden · 11/09/2021 09:04

And here come the personal aggressive attacks when you start questioning the ethics of vaccinating kids with emergency vaccines when they may not need it.

I've reported your post @DismantledKing.

Geamhradh · 11/09/2021 09:05

@Evesgarden
Do a search for the photos.
They're all in London. No, they aren't outside schools, but these are the sort of people who are prepared to stand and shout in your child's face.

Yes, I AS'd you. To see if you tended to post on anti-vax stuff and to see if you had children. Because, call me old-fashioned, I find it hard to believe any parent could advocate this sort of thing going on outside their child's school.

itsgettingwierd · 11/09/2021 09:06

@2boysDad

To be fair, the average year 7 kid is still intellectually superior to the average anti-vaxxer.
🤣🤣🤣

People are entitled to their opinions on vaccines and the separate issue of vaccinating the younger age group.

But to protest outside schools is a step too far. They are trying to influence school children against vaccinations in their place of education.

If you don't agree then campaign publicly but somewhere where the children and young adults aren't away from their parental support network.

And it's not compulsory. No one is forcing that age group to get it. It's just about it being available should they want it.

I'm against vaccinating 12 year olds but it's difficult to comprehend the idiocy of protesting at a bloody school 🤦‍♀️ Jesus wept.

Vinorosso74 · 11/09/2021 09:07

There were a small number outside DD's secondary earlier in the week. From what DD said there were only a few. The email from school said they were trying to engage with the students and had leaflets.

Is your opinion that fragile?
noblegiraffe · 11/09/2021 09:08

And I already know your point of view - vaccinate all children regardless if they need it to protect teachers.

Well this is a lie and a personal attack, stay away from my kid please.

Wardrobes123 · 11/09/2021 09:10

Protests should not be allowed outside of schools, especially as most children walk to secondary school without parents. Some secondary aged children may be able to hand themselves but in years 7-9 they are still quite young and should be able to access their school site without fear or intimidation.

I’d welcome police involvement on any adult protest outside a school. And anyone who agrees with these types of protests at secondary schools is clearly unhinged.
