my next door neighbors caught it at Christmas.

OP posts:

January.... Driving my nan to get her first vaccine. She had it without us realising and refused to wear a mask in the car.

TheRealMrsMorningstar · 22/08/2021 01:06

Work. We spent two weeks alone at Christmas (just our immediate family unit as we have a very vulnerable family member ), husband back at work for a week and started showing symptoms - apparently it ripped through work thanks to a few staff members having a new years party with lots of people.

tedsletterofthelaw · 22/08/2021 01:09

I have no idea where I caught it.

It was the end of January so mid-lockdown so had barely left the house. I went to work but sat in an office alone all day so doubtful it was there.

I suspect it came from DC's school but I seemed to get symptoms first.

My brother caught it at the pub. My cousin at work (nurse). I don't know anyone else who has had it.

One friend early 2020 - the Choir she sang in. One choir member died

Another friend Jan 2020 - Skiing.

Two friends (May 2020 / Feb 2021) - both of whom died - hospital acquired. Went in negative, never came home

DD - at the Pub she worked in.

Three friends - one currently in ICU - at a 60th Birthday Party

I also have several friends who are now testing positive for non vaccine antibodies, who had no idea that they had been exposed, never mind where the exposure was.

FlagsFiend · 22/08/2021 06:40

I caught it from work (school) last December.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 22/08/2021 08:05

From a work colleague. She came in with a cough and then found out she had been in contact with a positive case, she subsequently tested positive herself and then infected me and another colleague. I'm on day 8 of isolation and DS has just tested positive, obviously caught it off me.

Shelby10 · 22/08/2021 08:10

We think DS caught it at work (pub), we then all got.

SuperheroBirds · 22/08/2021 08:21

April 2020 - work (London bus driver)

December 2020 - work (police, teacher, another bus driver. During the Kent outbreak in London almost all of my family caught it without having mixed with each other, and in each household the person who had symptoms first worked outside the home).

August 2021 - children’s party (all the adults in the family then caught it from the child).

Imnothereforthedrama · 22/08/2021 08:21

@MeiganMcSeinna6

my next door neighbors caught it at Christmas.
What that’s like saying I caught it at Easter . Your question is were did people catch it ? I’m assuming you mean caught it mixing with family at Christmas? . Yes I know someone who did that whole family were ill with it but fortunately were fine . I caught it off dc who caught it from work as was still in lockdown and hadn’t been anywhere or seen anyone apart from own household.
OliveTree75 · 22/08/2021 08:25

March this year from my dp who caught it at work in a factory

GoodnightGrandma · 22/08/2021 08:26

One was work, at the very beginning of this.
The other two don’t know and were wearing masks when out.

MaudebeGonne · 22/08/2021 08:27

Haven't a clue. I am assuming work (I work in a hospital but am always masked). Hadn't been socialising indoors, hasn't been anywhere except work and supermarket. Double vaccinated since January. Our whole household got it. It's been crap.

Badbadbunny · 22/08/2021 08:29

Everyone I know who caught it (only a few), caught it whilst in hospital for other health issues. We live in a low covid area and I don't know anyone who caught it anywhere else. Our village school hasn't had any bubbles burst or closures.

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 22/08/2021 08:32

Friend - family wedding
Collegue - hen do
Another colleague - buffet style restaurant

They're the only people I know that have contracted it and have had symptoms and been unwell with it. I may well know others who have been asymptomatic

MythicalBiologicalFennel · 22/08/2021 08:34

Both DC caught it in school.
DGM caught it from her carer. Carer was severely ill but has recovered. DGM died.

cricketmum84 · 22/08/2021 08:35

My sister caught it last month watching football in a pub. I don't know anyone else who has had it.

Bubbublish · 22/08/2021 08:38

@inmylifeIlovedthemall

I'm so sorry to read your post, very upsetting and must be hard for you to deal with

Bettyboop3 · 22/08/2021 08:40

Work colleague caught it clubbing, son in law at a car meet & then gave it to my daughter. All 3 are anti vaxers 🙄

Bubbublish · 22/08/2021 08:40

@MythicalBiologicalFennel

Must be so upsetting, sorry for your loss

ItsAChallengingWank · 22/08/2021 08:45

School. One dc got it and spread it to the whole household

Porcupineintherough · 22/08/2021 08:45

From work, from other members of the household, from school.

VaguelyInteresting · 22/08/2021 08:46

April 2020 (not confirmed by PCR but all the symptoms and have since had symptoms my GP believes to be long covid).

Depending on incubation period, I either caught it at work directly before lockdown started (university campus with lots of international students) or the pharmacy I went to the week after.

sunnygemini · 22/08/2021 08:46

work - in an office with socially distanced desks and mask wearing when moving around

Branleuse · 22/08/2021 08:47

Ive not had it, but the people i know who have caught it from either work, school, the pub, or one of their kids. Pretty much like any other virus

ShimmyYa · 22/08/2021 08:47

Who knows? I managed to avoid getting it in over a year of working in education where I was in constant contact with staff and kids who had it. Then I caught it in July, after schools broke up and after being double vaccinated!
