How 'safe' do you feel?

Are you minimising your potential risk of covid?

How different is your life now than in typical years to 2019?

I think I'm mainly curious about whether people's life is different anyway after the last 18 months....
I know mine is. I went shopping yesterday and struggled with the lighting, the lack of available seating etc ... And I'm unlikely to be keen for a repeat experience for a while, so the way I spend my time is likely to be a lot different anyway, without even taking covid itself into consideration...

Are differences because things are slow to start up? because you've formed new habits anyway? Out of not wanting to contract covid/have to isolate/anything else.

@Arsebucket

Yes, I will be reporting symptoms.

I’ve been in urgent care and then A&E since 3pm.

I’m shocked at all the people who are in after having the vaccine. People forget that people talk to each other. So many here with the same symptoms as me after having one of the jabs.

So how rare is it to have problems? People here are scared and questioning what the hell they have done to themselves.

I started a thread when I had mine last saturday. Told i’d done the right thing for my health.

If only I could turn back the clock.

I hope you're ok Thanks

DM and one of my friends had awful reactions to first AZ jab. DM was sick for a day or two, my friend was pretty much bedridden for a week. MIL and FIL didn't have any side effects from it.

It is so WRONG that you were obliged to take the vaccine to return to the office. Any medical treatment can have side effects and it should always be a personal choice.

The government summary of yellow card reports is here. You can look at reports for each vaccine under Annex 1.

I agree with @housewifeathome. It's terribly wrong for employers to be pressuring or requiring staff to have a vaccine, it should be 100% your choice. Hope you feel better and get some answers soon @Arsebucket Flowers.

PizzaPiePizzaPie · 15/08/2021 23:07

For those who are unvaccinated. I am assuming right that you don’t know people who have died of covid or have long term issues from it.
I know someone who won’t get vaccinated because it’s ‘just flu’.

Depends why someone does not want the vaccine. I know people who lost loved ones to Covid, but it does not change the reason I wont be having the vaccine. Believe it or not, not everyone who is declining it is some tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist, or a Covid denier. Our reasons can vary, with most being very personal.

I’m unvaccinated.

Sadly have had elderly relatives die of covid last year and know a couple of people who have long covid.

But then I also know people who have had the vaccine and now have health issues that they never had before - 1 very seriously ill at the moment in hospital.

DayKay · 16/08/2021 05:33

Out of those I know who are unvaccinated, one of them is a covid denier and thinks it’s a big fuss about nothing but the others have had covid and aren’t afraid as they know how it was for them and Are likely to have natural antibodies anyway.

LaBellina · 16/08/2021 06:53

Not been vaccinated and nothing changed for me. I’m also not too worried, relatively young, good health, not overweight and taking extra vitamin D as a precaution.

Your A&E department is full if people with problems after having the vaccine....wow why don't you call the press I'm sure they would be interested 🤔
kowari · 16/08/2021 07:34

What a nasty post to write to someone in A&E and scared about their health.

Someone in A&E who says there are so many there with the same problems after the vaccine, scarred and questioning. All talking to each other in A&E with the same problems. Surely with that many people the hospital should wonder what is going on....

I call major bullshite. Every post on here isn't honest

TheTallOakTrees · 16/08/2021 07:43

By the way 3 relatives and 2 friends work in the NHS serious vaccine side effects requiring A&E are very very rare! Yet so many in one A&E department with the same problems after the vaccine according to poster 🤔

Minor side effects are very common.

TheTallOakTrees · 16/08/2021 07:53

Actually what hospital A&E is full of people needing care after first vaccine and all chatting to each other with same symptoms and needing emergency care.

Please poster tell us the hospital sp we can investigate dont cover it up. Let's get the facts investigated. If true as claimed they it can be looked into 🤔

Flowerlane · 16/08/2021 07:55

I will tell my mum who is receiving treatment after having the vaccine and my sister in laws brother in law who collapsed at home and currently has something wrong with his heart at aged 28 that they are just very unlucky as it’s very very rare to need a & e after the vaccine Hmm
TheTallOakTrees · 16/08/2021 08:07

@Flowerlane

I'm sorry for them. Serious side effects are rare though factually given the millions that have been vaccinated. A hospital A&E department with lots of people with same urgent problems all chatting to each other after one vaccine and all same problems is so far unheard of hence poster should highlight the hospital. Which A&E was it so it can be investigated? I suspect the poster won't say though. It wouldn't identify her but IF true could be looked into.

Lauras315 · 16/08/2021 08:12

My aunt died from multiple clots in both lungs a few weeks after taking the AZ she was only 62 and had been for a physical check up and bloods only a week before she died and all was well she was rushed into a&e incoherent and with oxygen levels of 51% I have been reading her medical reports the doctor states this women is clearly dying and we have no idea why.. they thought it was sepsis but was not sure from what. She died within 24 hours. Sepsis was put down as the cause of death but I asked for a post mortem which is where they found the clots. The coroner fobbed me off when I said could it be connected to the vaccine literally laughed at me on the phone then eventually said 'even if it was we wouldnt know' well uh thats great? She was not interested in following up and did not tell me about the yellowcard scheme. I do believe it is vaccine related and ywllow carded it and they got back to me 3 months later and just said thanks for letting us know. It is very worrying to be treated this way when a loved one dies and also feel pressured into taking it too even if you have already had and recovered from covid and thus have 0 need for the vaccine. I am disgusted honestly

TheTallOakTrees · 16/08/2021 08:16

@Lauras315

I'm really sorry for your loss and sorry that you didn't get an answer to why this happened.

It is therefore really important that if an A&E department is full of people with serious issues after one vaccine that it is identified and checked for accuracy. So many people make claims that aren't true due to their own agenda and stance. Only the facts are important.

I’m starting to wonder if being vaccine hesitant is a pre requisite for these terrible side effects. It’s amazing how almost everyone on mumsnet that has them, or knows people that have them has previously posted that they are worried about taking the jab.
Greenrubber · 16/08/2021 09:11

I think people need to weigh up their own pros and cons to the vaccine

I doubt anyone would take actual medical advice off random people on mumsnet and not do their own research with covid (although some people might)

It's all anecdotal and we don't have experts on the subject but there is alot of bullying towards people not having the vaccine which I think is crazy it really doesn't effect the vaccinated so why do they feel the need to be docks about it

Cookerhood · 16/08/2021 09:13

That's really sad. The rare clots after AZ are completely different to regular clots & occur in the brain. They are due to low platelets.
I'm sorry you didn't get any answers though.
