Anyone with no vaccination side effects

I'm booked in to have my first vaccination on Friday (no idea which yet). I get the flu vaccine every year through work and I've never given it a second thought, but I'm irrationally panicking about the Covid one. I think it's mainly around the horrible side effects, and although I know they are usually 24-48 hours and the alternative (Covid itself) would likely be far worse, I can't seem to calm my anxiety.

Is there anyone out there who had few effects (a sore arm I wouldn't worry about!) - I think hearing about all the people who spent 2 days in bed with what felt like the flu is causing me to be anxious. I can't really explain it, it's not like me at all - but I could really do with hearing some positive stories to give me hope that I could be one of the lucky ones!

Me! Got the Oxford jab on Monday and other than a sore arm I have been totally fine! The set up and staff all brilliant too. Focus on the positive, I am VERY glad to have been vaccinated and feel more comfortable about seeing my parents in a few weeks too!

SmurfetteBlue · 06/05/2021 00:26

Had the Pfizer just over a week ago and no side effects here.

boydoggies · 06/05/2021 00:29

I've had both doses. Slightly achy arm, otherwise great. Remember you'll pick up on the negative effects much quicker than anyone who was fine.. Have paracetamol nearby just in case! It's a little worrying going for the vaccine isn't it. Good luck.

I’ve had first dose AZ, sore arm and tiredness were all I had.

SE13Mummy · 06/05/2021 00:45

I've had both doses of the AZ vaccine. First jab, my arm was tender for a couple of days. Second jab, barely noticed it had been done and by the time I put my coat back on, my arm was back to normal. I've not had any pain or tenderness whatsoever.

Bazinga007 · 06/05/2021 00:47

I had the AZ vaccine and I expected to be a bit rough for a few days. But I had nothing, my arm was hardly sore and I had a bit of a pathetic bruise.

daveyfish · 06/05/2021 00:50

Same here, Pfizer this week, first dose, sore arm and a bit tired, nothing else Smile

Archiduchesse · 06/05/2021 00:54

Sister and two friends had AZ and no side effects at all - not even a sore arm. DH had Moderna and just had a sore arm for two days. Parents and other sister had both doses of Pfizer with no side effects other than my Dad feeling tired the day after his second dose.

fuckyouRW · 06/05/2021 00:57

Me. First jab of AZ a couple of weeks ago, nothing but a sore arm the next day.

ApplesinmyPocket · 06/05/2021 01:06

No effects at all for me (AZ first dose). Hardly felt the jab, hardly even had a sore arm (it was almost a shame, as I had anticipated some after-effects and was prepared with ready meals etc, which I was nonetheless pleased to have Wink

Daughter (32) AZ first dose - nothing more than what she described as a 'feverish night' but fine next day to go to her (very physical and demanding) job.

DH - Pfizer - both doses and no reaction to either.

I reckon this is the norm really OP, so go to your jab with confidence.

lavenderlou · 06/05/2021 01:08

I had 1st dose of the AZ vaccine a month ago. No symptoms at all, not even a sore arm.

justsaymaybe · 06/05/2021 01:15

I had a sore arm and the slightest achy feeling in my arms and legs for about 30 mins before I went to bed that night, all fine the next day.

MyDarlingWhatIfYouFly · 06/05/2021 02:09

Fantastic, thank you all Grin

I had moderna, DH had pfizer and DM had AZ - other than sore arm none of us had a side effect.

HappyGirl86 · 06/05/2021 02:16

OP I feel exactly the same as you! I'm not normally like this either, and I've previously had the swine flu vaccine and I was fine.
I don't know why I'm worrying and stressing about this vaccine.

OurChristmasMiracle · 06/05/2021 02:16

I had Pfizer and I only had a sore arm that also felt kinda heavy the next day. Other than that no side effects.

I’ve got my second dose next week.

Ceejay14 · 06/05/2021 02:30

I had Moderna on Tuesday. I’ve got a sore arm and am a bit more tired than usual, but all good other than that.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 06/05/2021 02:31

I have both AZ jabs no side effects at all not even a sore arm!

Losttheequipment · 06/05/2021 02:36

Two doses of Pfizer, sore arm only. I know a couple of people who felt really grotty after the first AZ dose, but it was more like 12 hrs than 48 hrs.

swearsby100001 · 06/05/2021 02:40

I was the same as you last week! First Pfizer, I did feel tired for a couple of days. But no fever or anything. Second Pfizer, all worked up to high doh about it and nothing but slight fatigue.

Figgyboa · 06/05/2021 02:58

I've had both Pfizer shots. No side effects apart from a sore arm.

Blueuggboots · 06/05/2021 03:28

I had a slightly sore arm with the first and nothing with the second. Didn't feel unwell at all.

Clarke45 · 06/05/2021 04:01

I had Moderna a couple of weeks ago, no side effects other than a sore arm...... unless pigging out on chocolate is a side effect 🤣

mocktail · 06/05/2021 04:17

No side effects other than a slightly sore arm for me, DH, parents and in-laws. Between us we've had AZ, Pfizer and Moderna Smile

ShowerOfShite · 06/05/2021 04:50

AZ three weeks ago and no side effects at all.
