I get that @WaverleyPirate but the amount of people out there screaming about vaccine evasion with this variant also need some perspective.

PomRuns · 06/06/2021 13:57

@WaverleyPirate I didn’t say it was negative to support preventative measures. I have consistently felt they should be in place.
Some of the posts on this board are inaccurate and cause needless anxiety - that’s what I mean by negative threads.

PomRuns · 06/06/2021 13:59

@LivinLaVidaLoki I agree. It’s really not balanced. I don’t know why the news/people do this. People are having a hard enough time as it is.

WaverleyPirate · 06/06/2021 14:24

Ah I see. Hopefully we will speed through to the twenties and teens having a vaccine soon.

I have children at university and it seems to be doing the rounds again so the sooner those big groups are done the better for everyone. They are so jammed together on campus.

WaverleyPirate · 06/06/2021 14:26

It sounds like they are moving onto under 30's next week.

And it is a small group - only five million apparently so I'm hoping they zoom through the next decade!

PomRuns · 06/06/2021 15:30

We do seem to be - grateful for all the vaccine people. Honestly a fantastic job. Nice we have done some things so well.

Good, measured thread from the head of NHS Providers Chris Hopson here, stating that even with the new variant, the chain between infection, hospitalisation, and morbidity has been broken by two vaccinations, but suggesting government considers some modifications to the plans for 21st June to ensure hospitals can manage renewed non-Covid treatments: twitter.com/ChrisCEOHopson/status/1401403305809547269?s=20

Cafeaulait27 · 06/06/2021 17:44

This is my new favourite thread! So much doom and gloom everywhere else. Thank you everyone! X

TeaInTheGarden · 06/06/2021 19:22

My good news for the day is I did a shift at my local vaccination centre and it was so busy they were queueing round the building! So lovely to see all those people and thinking how each one was being protected and making things harder for covid!

carolinesbaby · 06/06/2021 20:45

My positive thought for the day is that my parents are both double jabbed (Moderna) and me, DH, DB and DSiL all have our second jab in the next week. And due to working solidly last year and a leave being cancelled, I only have 21 work days left till I break up for my 6 week summer break.

EasterIssland · 07/06/2021 12:16

over 40s can now moved their second dose from 12w to 8 if they want to sooner

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 07/06/2021 14:56

Should be a little warning with the changing of second jab appointments. Apparently don't do it if you got Moderna. The appointments are harder to get and you risk getting one for a later date. At least that is what Twitter is saying.

Autumn101 · 07/06/2021 15:18

I had Moderna so I’m holding off trying to change it, due mid July. I’ve got friends locally who struggled to even get a first dose nearby so would rather wait a few more weeks than end up with no appointment or driving miles to get it!!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 07/06/2021 15:23

I've brought mine forward to 9 weeks but does anyone know what happens if you test positive between jabs? I'm waiting for a test result and I'm worried that, if it's positive, I won't be able to have my second jab in a couple of weeks time.

EasterIssland · 07/06/2021 15:31

this is what the website says when trying to book the appoitment

"If you've had a positive COVID-19 test, you should wait 4 weeks from the date you had the test before you book an appointment."

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 07/06/2021 15:49

Thank you. In that case I'll be OK as it was only 7 weeks yesterday. Hopefully I'll be OK anyway!

Bordois · 07/06/2021 16:23

Figures still look to be holding steady. 1 death reported today but apparently the person died in April but has only just been reported.

Bordois · 07/06/2021 16:26

April 2020 that should say 😲

EasterIssland · 07/06/2021 16:28

@Bordois

April 2020 that should say 😲
Shock

so 0 deaths today?

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 07/06/2021 16:29

😯

Have they only just remembered to report it🤓

TruelyStruttingHotpants · 07/06/2021 16:30

Goodness that is going to get the conspiracy nuts going isn't it

Bordois · 07/06/2021 16:32

So far 0 deaths - obviously they will get slotted in as and when they are reported. 5th June is currently a 0 death day too by date of death not report
