@nordica

The national booking website will be updated to allow under 40s and pregnant women to choose a non-AZ vaccine.

Prediction seems to still be booking will open for 35-39 group next week or the week after at the latest.

I wonder how many people will suddenly decide they are pregnant 🤔
EasterIssland · 08/05/2021 22:01

I guess they’ll check you really de pregnant and wait til you’ve had your 12w scan to jab you ?

Dopeysofee · 09/05/2021 00:14

@Scissorsforthedrifter

Just had mine. Unexpected moderna. Had to walk past the huge AZ queue my mum was in. They told her they decided last night to give everyone 40ish and under moderna for 1st doses.
Really hoping this happens to me. I'm 40, but my dh is 39. When I was booking us both in today, there were definitely less options available to him. I booked us both at the first place it would allow him to book and fingers crossed we both get offered moderna or Pfizer.

They didn't check people were unpaid carers initially. They waited until 100,000s had abused the provision. I can't see they will be that bothered about a small group of women in the 40-45 age bracket who haven't already been vaccinated and say they are pregnant tbh.

Can you take babies to the vaccination appointment, does anyone know?

year5teacher · 09/05/2021 08:40

DP is 33 and his is booked! Same for my sister. Both live in the same area.

I'm sure I have heard that you can
nordica · 09/05/2021 09:05

I saw stats from Wales that show nearly 50% of the 30-39 age group is already vaccinated there.

Meanwhile here in London I'm still waiting at 38 and the Indian variant is spreading quickly here. 😩 The UK has a stockpile of millions of vaccinations, why has the roll out slowed down so much? Is it because GP-led hubs have closed? The one near me closed a few weeks ago.

The general consensus before has been yes (with the odd anomaly)
Scissorsforthedrifter · 09/05/2021 09:55

My second appointment seems to have been cancelled now, it's just made me book it again when I went into manage appointments. Wonder if it's moderna related.

That is interesting. When booking for my 39 yr husband and myself (40) - there were less places available for him to go than for me 🙄. I've booked us both same place and same time and hoping we are both offered an alternative to AZ.

Yes I'm still waiting in London aged 39.

@nordica, I'm 39 and still waiting. Meanwhile my 30 year old sister was called by her GP

alphajuliet123 · 09/05/2021 23:13

Is there a new thread for 30+ yet? Sorry if I’ve missed it.

DH is done, so someone needs to pick up for the next thread please. Just change the title to whatever the age groups are that fit and people will join.
